  1. Absolutely respect your position, and can see where you are coming from. I guess that because all my personal collection books are unrestored, I couldn't go this far down the rabbit-hole to claim I had a "9.8" mega key. I get the sellers motivation, not the buyers. Even if Hulk #1 doubled in price in blue label (CGC) - I can't see a buyer of this book getting a similar return. Just my
  2. I'm not sure if a 'collection' counts but here's my only one.
  3. Like the ped label.Nice touch and gives the book it's recognition. Classy.
  4. Ugh. It ceased to be a comic years ago - for me, thats a reproduction copy. I have no idea why people would want that book in any grade. Your personal mileage may vary of course. (not yours Joey)
  5. The Lou Fine Covers during the war weren't too shabby either.
  6. The only difference I see is that the new CGC case is superb, and makes my books look better on my wall. I have a Tec #38 and Action #252 in CBCS slabs and they graded exactly as they were graded by the subber. Page quality the same as well. I agree about the old sigs scheme - a very bad idea. As for grading - I have had no issues. I prefer CGC , but lets not treat CGCS like PGX guys - they are not perfect, but they aren't the anti-christ either. Regarding prices - I really don't see a substantial difference in established key books. "Hot spec books" maybe as CGC seem to have quicker TAT's for happy flippers. If you don't like them, don't use them, but there is no need to bring out the torches and pitchforks. Now PGX and Halo on the other hand.....
  7. $50 for next few hours then off to the bay
  8. Found some Aussie reprints / variants from the 1980's and thought I'd see if there was any interest. All are complete - but READER issues only - tape pull on the back of one, creases, a few small tears, covers coming loose at some staples, so regard them as READERS please! Still, a bit of fun, something different. Each issue has more than one story in them, often with additional characters along with those on the cover. 1st Terra 1st Blue Devil 1st Superwoman 1st Vigilante Funky Supergirl cover. You can return them if you like - but I have clearly stated they are READERS, so buy with that in mind. All covers are attached (some loose at a staple), all centrefolds fully attached, no missing pages. I had a flick through and couldn't see any writing, except for what you see on the covers. Paypal only please $USD Tracked shipping (I'm in Australia obvs) will be around the $20 mark to USA/Canada. Less locally, more to Europe - ask and I'll get a close estimate. $75 $50 + shipping Thanks for looking!
  9. If they can re-capture the awesomeness of the 1st movie - I'm in. Great film with Michelle Rodriguez the star for mine. Good choice of casting of Hannah for the reboot. I'll be keen to see the trailers
  10. If we are going down memory lane... Big pile of boxes over a year ago - paid $700 as the guy was moving back to Uk and was selling literally the day prior to flying as decided at last minute not to ship them. Some of the haul after I sent them for grading, some are sold, some I kept. Very small sample - lots of 40 yr old 9.8's I previously posted. Best haul I ever found.
  11. I loved the start but for some wierd reason Foxtel stopped it at episode 9?? I got up to ep #7 and then thought screw it, I'll wait, but they never restarted it. Is HBO the only place to find it as we don't have it here. In fact we only have half the DC arrowverse which is exasperating when they do cross-overs! Good show, just need to find the rest of season 1!
  12. Every single seller on ebay has to sign up or leave ebay completely by Dec 31st 2020. It's like ebay want to wither and die isn't it?
  13. No - paypal has been removed as an option for payments from buyers. Payment into nominated bank account only is allowed as this rolls out - so put simply, no paypal protection, it's all being done by ebay. You can PAY by paypal, but not recieve payments into anything other than a designated bank account in either 2 day or weekly payments. This is worrying. Sellers lose paypal protection - what about tax? Will ebay roll through their GSP - USA pays no tax on imported comics, but the UK does. Who trusts ebay to get that right? Will they report payments to the Govt taxation office - it will be a nightmare trying to match up receipts for buying stuff and attaching them to payments from selling stuff to minimise tax. What if you are selling family members old comics. It's a nightmare and ebay demand 100% control over every sale, including where the payment goes. From ebay: You can complete pre-registration in a few simple steps by verifying your identity and business, agreeing to the Payments Terms of Use and adding a bank account so you can get paid. Once enabled, buyer feedback and existing listings will be automatically updated, and will reflect the different ways buyers can pay. Sellers can immediately access all available features of the new payments experience. Managed payments is the new way to do business on eBay. eBay will manage payments for most sellers in 2020, and all sellers will eventually be required to have eBay manage their payments in order to keep selling on eBay. With eBay managing your payments, you will pay payments processing fees only to eBay, and not separately to another processor. This means you will no longer pay fees directly to PayPal. You will need to add a bank account to your eBay seller account and your funds will be deposited into that bank account. With payouts paid to your bank account, you no longer need to transfer funds from PayPal. We consistently initiate payouts to your bank account within 2 business days of an order confirmation, regardless of how the buyer paid. We aim to pay you as quickly as possible, but are dependent on the credit card brands (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, etc.) and banks for payout processing and timely funds settlement. Once enabled with eBay Managed Payments, you will have the option to schedule weekly or daily payouts to your bank account, as funds are available. You can choose your payouts frequency in Payout Settings in the new Payments tab on Seller Hub. The Payouts section within the Payments tab provides an overview of the payouts you've received from us. You can see the total amount of each payout, when we sent it to you, the account we sent it to, and how many transactions were included. Buyers will have the option to pay with credit, debit, and gift cards; Apple Pay; Google Pay; and PayPal and AfterPay.
  14. https://sellercentre.ebay.com.au/managed-payments Not very cool.
  15. Starting later this year, eBay will begin managing payments in Australia. Managed payments supports an enhanced buying and selling experience on eBay. Buyers have more ways to pay with credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and AfterPay. Sellers have one place to sell and get paid, with payouts directly deposited into your bank account. You also have a single source for fees, customised reports, refunds, simplified protections and expert payments support. We are pleased to share that we are now starting to progressively enable pre-registration for Australian sellers whose features and tools usage are compatible with managed payments. In the coming weeks, you may receive a notice to pre-register on managed payments. • If you receive a notification,If you receive a notification, we encourage you to pre-register. Pre-registration can be completed in a few simple steps, and allows you to get ready for managed payments. However, nothing will change in how you manage your business until your account is activated, and we will notify you in advance. Information on fees and how they are calculated will be made available at the beginning of the pre-registration process. • If you don’t receive a notification, there is no other action required at this time. We’re enabling sellers whose business matches best with the features offered at present. As we continue to expand our features, we’ll keep you informed and notify you to register when we can support the needs of your business. For more details and answers to your questions on managed payments, head over to the Seller Centre page. Which is great, except I don't want people to pay with apple gift cards, and have ebay handle all my payments. If you don't allow this - off ebay you go in 2021 - no exceptions. Is this what you have in the USA? If you don't use ebay, is Amazon any better for example? I save up my sales in paypal to buy books, I don't want payments into my bank, and then transfer it to paypal again. This may well be the proverbial straw etc etc Thoughts?
  16. The Jaguar Boots are going back in the wardrobe. Maybe try again later in the year. PM if interested and you missed this ad Thanks for looking!
  17. I'll leave this running for another day or two. PM me any close offers - book is here to be sold Try $100 and see how we go.
  18. Hawkman #4 just said hello. Movie/TV stuff gets more views here
  19. You'll fit right in here. 1) Weight, distance, selected service 2) What era? CGC don't press comics. An 'independent affiliate' does that. Plenty of pressing people on these boards. 3) What era, estimated value, time of service (fast or slow) 4) Either What books are you subbing? Show us some pics. We like pics of comics on here. There is even a section if you want someone else to grade them for you. We may as well, seeing as were doing everything else for you. Come on dude! All this is on their website or just email them! Welcome to these fine boards - it's Friday! @kav
  20. Usual rules Take it in thread beats PM negotiations Paypal only please in USD Fully tracked postage will be $30 to USA/Canada $18 to NZ and some parts of Asia - UK, Europe enquire please. No returns as graded. Any damage to slab - I will either pay for reholder upon receipt of pics, or offer full refund. Whatever makes you happy. Certain to be a block-buster movie starring Dolph Lundgren and Ruby Rose, I present a book that you simply can't do without. Sure to spawn a million sequels - The Jaguar Returns, My life as an ancient Jaguar, Sexual Conquests of a man in Jaguar print boots - the opportunities are endless. I present, without further adieu - Adventures Of The Jaguar #1 CGC 5.5! Check out those boots! Whilst I doubt a press would do much to improve the grade, maybe a small bump possible, it would improve its presentation. But it's just a fun book, so why bother? Did I mention the Boots? And that belt is to die for... Not many on census, this was #1 in a 15 issue series, no doubt cancelled due to the resulting culling of funny coloured Jaguars around the world to make thousands of pairs of Jaguar boots. $110 $100 USD + shipping
  21. I always thought this was one of the most wonderful covers I have ever seen. I don't know why, but I find it beautiful.
  22. $10 USD Online ad, so not able to inspect them, but the South African Issues looked interesting, as did the Flash issues.
  23. Totally agree. The 6 months is absurd. Equally as absurd as not being to neg scumbag buyers - but that's for another day. I sell low value stuff on ebay $5 - $500 , with most being in the $5 - $40 range. The low prices automatically lower expectations, and most of my listing are stated as 'acceptable' or 'good' at best. I always try to undergrade - if I think it's a VFN - I will list as FN/FN+ At that price range, and someones not happy, they get a refund and keep the book. I have 3200 pos feedbacks and 3 neutrals (in all 3 cases I actually offered full refunds and let them keep book - I even got ebay to email the buyer directly to accept the offer - all 3 never replied to either of us and ebay wouldn't remove the neutrals. Because the complaints were valid.) I still gave a full refund and let them keep the book in all 3 cases. I have no negatives. HOWEVER - I agree, with big ticket items, I sell here or Heritage. Zero hassle, guaranteed payment. Ebay is great, but for low value items. This is a hobby for me - I actually enjoy selling all sorts of comics, magazines, sporting programmes etc etc. It funds my comic purchases. I'll give you a classic example - I bought 500 Mad Mags for roughly $110 USD about 4 months ago . Took a while to list in pairs and sort them out etc. Today I broke even, and have 460 left. They sell slowly, I'm only making $5 - $15 per sale on these, but by Xmas that should be enough, along with other sales of stuff I bought in bulk for a Major Key book. Last year it enabled me to buy 8 books that I really wanted inc an AF #15 I'm not paying thousands for a comic out of my salary. But I will pay for bulk stock, do some hard yards, turn it into profit and THEN buy a nice book However - I enjoy it, it's my hobby. I would not want to have to pay a mortgage by selling on ebay! So yes, I fully agree, big ticket items probably should go to Auction houses, but ebay is great to sell cheaper items. Everyone's mileage varies.
  24. Ebay will always side with the buyer. The CC company will always side with the buyer. They rely on sellers giving up and letting it go away. As I have said before: Always ring ebay Always get past the scripted drone on the phone who just want to keep thier job by sticking to their KPI's Remember ebay does not give one flying fig about you or your book - it's the fees baby. If at first you fail - ring again. And again AS LONG AS YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT. As for the OP - you should have insisted on a full refund from the get-go. The guy was giving off every red flag about being a painful buyer. If the buyer claims CT, then you know he's coming after you. Now you are in a complete clusterball with so many entities involved it's a shambles. Refund the guy, take the book back. Then go to CGC and find out what they will do about the detached cover. Like a lot of peeps have said - 'not as described' = case closed for ebay, unless you are in the right and really want to fight hard with umpteen calls. I can't see anyway you can win this with missed colour touch and a detached cover, if none of this was in your listing. If CGC tore your cover off - then your beef is with them. Ebay will not care less. Refund, take book back, and demand recompense from CGC for breaking the book. It's your best chance of coming out even.
