  1. I would like to buy it for my set if you want to sell it. I am looking for a

Uncle Scrooge 179 if you know of a high grade one.

    Thanks Bonnie

No thanks Bonnie, I just got this baby and want to enjoy it for awhile! (tsk) I will keep you in mind though encase I do decide to sell. (thumbs u

Uncle Scrooge #179 is hard to find in any grade, I don't know who has a high grade copy for sale. It would run you some big-time change for it though! hm

  2. Here are some of the Spanish examples I could find. There's a #4 there obviously and one that looks like it would be 5 or 6 as it does not have one of the Whitman covers reproduced. I've also included a pic of some of the original art pages I own of issue #6 by Dan Spiegle.

Very nice covers & OA! I'm sure it was hard to acquire them?

  3. Foreign released?

I don't believe the Black Hole #4 foreign release was ever verified. (shrug)

I thought I read somewhere (these boards?) in the past couple of years that copies were found in Australia or another overseas country. It's possible the copies made it there from the US I guess. Or my recollection is wrong. (shrug)

You are probably correct also! I was referring more to an accurate paper trail on the guesstimated amount sold abroad. The Recalled Comics site estimates about 175 total copies to exist and AJ is usually spot on with his statistics. (thumbs u

  4. Yeah, that is incredible! Considering there are only about 175 copies known to exist! hm

I had been watching this 9.8 copy for weeks, it kinda flew under the radar! (thumbs u I'm very happy to own it! :cloud9:

I think the number of copies is higher than this based on anecdotal evidence. Either this, or these comics don't stay in peoples collection for very long. This was a foreign released comic and it will be hard to determine the numbers, but as the world becomes more and more connected, I believe we'll understand better how many copies are out there.

I agree, there is no bonafide way of knowing just exactly how many are out there. hm I'm just basing thing on rumored totals. I am glad I have my new copy though! :headbang:

  5. Here is my newly CGC graded Whitman thread contribution! :headbang::cloud9:

    hm

Here is my latest purchase that I won today on CC! :cloud9: This copy will do the Whitman appreciation thread proud! Only one other 9.8 on the CGC census! :headbang:

I will be selling my Black Hole #4 CGC 8.0 in the next week or so! (thumbs u

  6. I don't see it going much above its starting price. Has a reserve yet started at 27k...

Yes that's kind of odd but I think it will top $30K easy.

That much better presenting than the last 2 8.0s? Doesn't have the nice PQ the last 2 did.

True. But 8.0's aren't exactly falling out of the trees and a CR/OW book can easily come back an OW book or better on a resub if it really bothered someone that much. Me personally, I give PQ the least amount of weight on a label, so long as the pages aren't brittle or noticeably Tan on the edges.

    -J.

Oh I agree they aren't common and PQ is the least important, but 2 have been reported to GPA this year with the last one back in october for just over 29,000 and then a 7.5 in nov for 26,000.

Wasn't there an 8.0 on CC that sold for $30K+ recently? Or was that an 8.5?

Yes Barry did just make his debut on Arrow. Good times. :acclaim:

There was a Showcase #4 CGC 8.0 that sold on CC for 29K & change. I was on the prowl for that one, but decided to go with an IH #1 CGC 8.0 White Mtn pedigree copy instead! :cloud9:

That Hulk 1 was a sweet pick up, good job on that one.

After hearing those GPA results, I am inclined to agree with you guys now, it will probably go a smidge under $30K. But it only takes two squirrels fighting over the same nut to push it past that. We shall see....

    -J.

Thanks J, I couldn't be more happier with my IH #1! :cloud9: Yeah, $30-31K would have been my cut-off had I decided to buy the Showcase#4 on CC a few months back. hm

I can't afford one in 8.0 so didn't track it and clink doesn't report to gpa :(

I can't wait to binge on Arrow :)

    :hi: Jaja

    How ya been Eric? :hi::grin:

You still got you a sweet copy though! (thumbs u

Arrow is the bomb this season! Catch-up on it as soon as you get the chance! :headbang: I'm eager to see what CW does with the Flash pilot slated for next year. I hope its as good as Arrow! :wishluck:

I will PM you soon with some of my recent purchases & CGC submissions results buddy!

  9. Here are my contributions to the thread! WW first two SA appearances! :cloud9:

Obtaining these babies took alot of patience and perseverance! :frustrated::headbang: Enjoy! (thumbs u

:applause: But then I'm sucker for black cover, especially when it involves a flaming meteor!

Thanks buddy! It is nice, especially with the addition of its historical significance. (thumbs u I'm proud to own it.

  10. So, who has a prediction on what this fine specimen will sell for on HA?! hm Right now it's at $15K!

    (shrug)

I'm thinking $60K with the premium, maybe more! I can't remember seeing a CGC 8.5 sell recently. hm Especially, not one belonging to a pedigree or collection.

Now at $42.5K, $50.8K with the premium and 4+ days left until floor bidding! Dang! Someone from Beantown could've bought me a new Yankees jersey! :facepalm:lol

I still believe it will go for over $60K! hm

$58.3K today, not a bad! :applause: It may be awhile before another 8.5 or higher shows up for sale again! Anyone know who owns that only CGC 9.4 copy in the census? hm

  12. A gift graded 8.5, won't break 50k

It looks like it has a little "Cole Schave" going too.

Care to elaborate on that? I never heard of the "Cole Schave" affect.

The comics general paranoia set in. There was some grossly fanned pages on some ultra high grade marvels due to cover shrinkage in the last pedigree auction.

    This book is fine though.

Oh okay, thanks for the info my friend! I still think this one should at least break $55K with premium. These high grade IH #1's don't pop up that often, so that may help it. hm

I just checked it out and it's at $26K, so it may reach $60K like my first prediction! hm

It's still under $50k like my prediction.

I'll betcha a NY Yankees jersey it goes past $50K! (thumbs u lol

    What do I win?

A NY Yankees jersey what else! :roflmao:

    Yosofunny! :boo:

I'm happy the WS is back on the east coast! lol It's at $32.5K now, $38.8K with the premium and 18 days left! :applause:

18 days left you say? then it will probably get to 60K,or better.

Yeah, it probably will despite the defect in the upper right corner. These IH #1's in high grade show up so infrequently, whoever is bidding don't seem to mind it! hm

I don't know what the last IH #1 CGC 8.5 sold for, but a 9.0 sold for $120K on CL. With that many days left it could go as high as $75K! We'll have to wait and see!
