  1. True. Which is why it is prudent to rely on the "collective" intelligence of these boards.
  2. Not quite synonymously, as "collection" means more (or less, based on your perspective).
  3. What is so funny? Aw, nothing - it just made me think of "double-secret probation" from Animal House.
  4. A little thick on the hype...and how do they know only 5 exist? Accounted for is not the same thing as exists. I think there were 5 copies that had been acknowledged in public, until I posted mine (the 6th) here on the boards in June. This book is very closely tracked, because it's believed to be so scarce... However, RMA is right. I'm sure there are some others tucked quietly into collections, and probably more sitting unrecognized out there. I found mine quite inexpensively at the 2nd day of a fair-sized con, where it was obviously bypassed by many, many people before I saw it and recognized it for what it was. Still, I'd say this by far the rarest Whitman. Easily the rarest of the DCs, and probably also rarer than any of the 8-12/80 pre-pack issues. Count me in for the 7th copy. Picked mine up in a larger collection about a year ago, lower grade though. If this keeps up we'll be at 10 copies next week . . .
  5. Would have been interesting to let that auction ride without saying anything, and seeing how it ended. But I bet when this gets down to the last minute, the auto-bids will start flying. But, but aren't there about 250K of these out there in HG, buried in longboxes somewhere?
  6. So what's heating up in Copper? I see that Batman 436 is doing very well in graded 9.8 ss, although off its highs from a few months ago. Fixed that... all sales results Better yet!
  7. Here's a #9 I found tucked away in a mid-grade collection:
  8. If that sells, it will be instant buyers remorse... Assuredly. It won't sell anywhere near that price, but now that it's out there someone might make him an offer.
  9. So what's heating up in Copper? I see that Batman 436 is doing very well, although off its highs from a few months ago.
  10. Fortunately it wasn't a tear . . . but it does look like one in the scan. The biggest issue I see now is the light rubbing along the spine on the BC, from the bottom staple down to the corner.
  11. Or maybe the other guys . . . btw, when was the census last updated? last week? last month? before San Diego? I received a batch of comics on Monday to my house. I've only checked like 5 of them, but they were all on the census.
  12. Timmay's bought raw from me and slabbed . . . 9.8 Wasn't that an Iron Man Annual?
  13. Or maybe the other guys . . . btw, when was the census last updated? last week? last month? before San Diego?
  14. *** You are ignoring this user *** Toggle the display of this post I've never been in a thread with less content . . . Here are the books I currently have for sale and I stand by grade on every one of them.
  15. Transparent - Let's see some of your listings. Ashamed? You let others do your lying for you? Got any plastic for sale?
  16. The Sandman 4 looks a little off to me too, but certainly not a 7.5 . . .
  17. Funny, how every single one of those buyers left stellar feedback for the books they bought. Except you, who have never bought a single item from me, ever. The buyer of the 9.9 VOB is a Board Member who doesn't leave feedback due to confidentiality, and he laughed all the way to the bank on that one. SWEET copy. Now in an SS 9.9 slab. And he's come back for more "overgraded" books. The joke's on you Transplant, and every time you look in a mirror.
  18. They're not in this thread touting sales prices predicated may times on dishonesty. Overgrading is even one thing, but he's been shown to outright lie in the description for a book. Every time you post something like this people see right through you. You should change your name from transplant to transparent. I am neither dishonest, nor have I ever lied. Outright,? Bob Overstreet says you're wrong. Is he a liar too? Overgrade? I just grade better than you do, which frankly isn't that difficult because you never sell raw books - no spine.
  19. They don't post in this thread about their outlier sales of comics that are not heating up by any reasonable definition. He brings the scrutiny upon himself. Why don't you just go count your money and continue not caring about comics? Lazyboy couldn't sell beef in the lion's den. No one cares more about comics than I do. Count money? Get a real job.
  20. Does this make more sense? My father-in-law is retired and spends his time raising chickens. He gives the eggs away for free. Who knows why people do what they do?
