  1. Best offer accepted? Plus, I'll take the credit for that book as I featured it as a creepy cover in a haul video. Yep, after some serious low-balling. Followed my wife's advice . . . Haha I bought it http://prntscr.com/7cdm56 GoDennyGo! WTTB
  2. My copy sold for $36 + $5.70 a few months ago: POWER GIRL #2 NM+ 9.6 W Adam HUGHES Cover Variant Used for DC Covergirls Statue (#381041195466) US $36.00 The Hughes cover issues in Catwoman and WW are also selling well. Catwoman 45 Catwoman 74
  3. Captain Marvel 26 - that is a 1973 comic and War is Hell is a 1974. Even easier, CM 26 is 20-cent and WiH 9 is 25-cents. In my mind, these are not even the same character. Mistress Death is an aspect of death that clearly is feminine. The other character is not. Well, aside from "the Pieta" swipe on the cover of the Death of Captain Marvel, death looks pretty androgenous (i.e., dead) to me - I never thought of the Grim Reaper as feminine . . .
  4. How that guy is still selling is beyond me.. Makes me very curious what's required to be an overstreet price guide adviser. Who is CoasttoCoast?
  5. Here's the companion. My WWBN 32's PQ was just as white as my #33's which received a white PQ,yet got a cream to OW? They came from the same collection, under the same conditions,so why the difference? This is why I have no belief in PQ designations anymore. Then send it back with a request to re-evaluate the PQ. It may just be an entry error.
  6. Depending on what the back cover looks like, I'd re-sub that bad boy. Has to be an interior defect like tanning on that book. What do the notes say? The cream to OW PQ would probably indicate that - damn Texas attics . . .

  8. 'fess up; who else is checking to see if any of that isn't actually drek. Who those, those Impact comics could see renewed interest if the Archie reboot takes off. Seller says he has more than 10 lots available, so what the hell I bought a box. Depends on how long the drek was sitting, right? Last week's drek is this week's profit Ask him for one of the boxes that says "Marvel" on the side . . .
  9. Very nice. I wish someone would sell these at a decent price. Cough, cough http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=8613116&fpart=1 Got anything in HG?
  10. Cool... Too bad my copy is not a raw 9.8 Btw, is that your book too?
  11. Here's another one that's still hot: Wolverine 80
  12. That FF Art Adams run was the beginning of the end of Art's classic years. I still cant believe they got Milgrom to ink AAdmas on it I disagree - it's a tight book, nicely drawn, with a great cover. ( Milgrom only inks 4 pages btw. )
  13. Isn't there a whole separate thread about this? Take it over there. JC wasn't talking to you anyhoo.
  14. How about some real sales, of some real Modern books (not books that were printed last week) . . .
  15. And another nice book that's hot: FANTASTIC FOUR 348
  16. Back to the subject of this thread . . . X-Factor 15
  17. I picked up half a dozen copies of DD 168 over the past year because compared to the other drek that brings $100 in 9.0 or so, it was a screaming deal. It was only a matter of time, show or no show, before it adjusted. Hell, I still think it's a great deal, even at current prices. Smart cookie. Comics is like this. In the current market, many good books are falling into the shadows, as the masses respond to "news".
  18. A decent looking copy just hit Metropolis for $260. They're calling it 9.4. Looks more like 9.0/9.2 IMO. With a press perhaps it eeks out 9.4? Seems a little steep but if Elektra shows up in DD season 2 it will probably wind up a bargain. Please don't quote me on this if it turns out to be wrong, but I have an industry buddy who's saying it's going to be the Punisher. -J. That makes a lot more sense, given the tenor of the series so far. Btw, I really enjoyed it.
  19. Man, Chip - you really work the work! (thumbs u
  20. Same here. I bid and won a few every now and then when the slabs were on ebay. Even then it appeared that CGC's grading was rather loose on many books. Now that they have moved to raw stuff I rarely find anything that looks accurately graded. I am sure that the reason why dealers like Sparkle City Comics grade so loosely is because they are well known for buying pedigree collections, they are Overstreet advisors and so on.....so "green" collectors associate dealers like Sparkle City as being authorities in the field . Consequently, Sparkle City know they can get away with ridiculously liberal grading standards. There are a couple other big name dealers / Overstreet advisors who pull the same sort of tricks, with selling overgraded raw comics on eBay......green collectors will pay higher prices from these sorts of dealers because green collectors are duped into paying a premium for the dealer's status in the hobby and being able to say" I bought this from Sparkle City Comics" This Avengers 196 looks like an 8.0 to an 8.5, just by eyeballing the pics. 2 transverse spine tics Oxidation staining on BC Wear on BC along upper left edge Not only do they know how to grade, they also know how to accurately describe a book's edition.. Such as the examples below: Dazzler #1 Newsstand #1 Dazzler #1 Newsstand #2 Maybe these are the only 2 known newsstand copies in existence? Hmmmm… if called on their BS, I imagine that they will defend the listing description by saying that "Newsstand Fresh" is mean to convey that it is brand new, not that it's an edition that doesn't exist. As we all know - Newsstand and fresh should never exist in one sentence Unless it's a "Tomato Boxer".

  22. Looks like a few sales in the $20-$40 range on eBay so far. Mine just shipped from DCBS, and I'll be throwing it up for auction once it arrives. Let the hype commence! besides the sweet cover, anything special? This thread needs a name change . . . To "Tweet Moderns"?! Seriously, I feel like I'm reading a twitter feed. There are like 5 different conversations happening. I can't see the forest from the trees.
