  1. Big Kahuna Kudos to musicmeta (thumbs u Right back at you Michael! Beautiful book, excellent secure packing, and super speedy delivery! Great follow-thru
  2. I'll be posting some DC drek later tonight for those of you that swing that way . . .
  3. You've told your own story so many times you believe it!
  4. Things have a way of evolving around here.
  5. Nope, you're right. That was its intent.
  6. I'll say. You flatter yourself, if you think I'd troll you The fact remains. You posted the and didn't pay. Live with it - you're a deadbeat. If it was a vendetta - you'd be first on the list in GOLD letters
  7. I'm lost here - what authority states that an "auction" must have an end time? Auctions end when the hammer strikes three times.
  8. Good idea! (thumbs u YOU could be its first member.
  9. Yeah, that format doesn't seem like much of an auction when you have a reserve (BIN), you might as well pull a FFB and put it out there with a mongo price tag but note you're "taking offers". A true auction is best (either using the new-once-twice-sold format, or the set-your-snipe/fixed end time format), but I suppose to avoid the threat of shilling the seller would have to require that bids be posted directly in the thread. Agreed - posting of bids in the thread has to be mandatory. (Which, btw, I did require in yesterday's format.) They would otherwise be unauditable - similar to a Heritage auction (silent bidders).
  10. All good points, but in your auction scenario, who determines whether a BIN is "fair" or not? The FMV for any given book is not readily agreed upon, and thus the guideline would be effectively unenforceable, i.e., the seller's set BIN could always exceed FMV
  11. Well then, there seems to be enough Forum members to divide into two threads: 1) Probation List, with the potential for resolving issues and being removed from Probation status 2) Permanent "Do Not Deal With" List, as some members view the Probation List as anyway. Andy that's not the issue here. The issue is should people on the probation list be dealing with people who put them on the probation list. R. You are just plain uninformed - who "put" them on the list?
  12. You're logic is flawed. He should have worked out his problems before you sold to him. It's like the preacher giving a sermon on adultery after he's been caught with the deacon's wife. Is she cute?
  13. Perhaps but they certainly should be given the chance. Pessimism, however, is eternal.
  14. Say what you will, but if the means justifies the end, then I'm all for it! Congrats to all parties involved in the recent negotiated settlements.

  16. Ah, the intelligence around here is just mind-boggling!
  17. Test auction ran, and completed. Successful all around.
  18. Kudos to old man for immediate payment on some auction items!
  19. It's a DC. I know - I picked up a whole box of them recently! Yikes - I got a fever and a rash . . .
  20. To maximize the return to the seller, of course. Seriously, the auction format (not ebay's though) establishes the fair marketplace, as defined by what a willing seller will accept, and what a willing buyer will pay.
