  3. It's truly the Wild West around here of late . . . Anybody with a gun can shoot
  4. Fine. I will go ahead and pimp my sale starting tomorrow (pending the owner's approval) of some consignment stuff. If people don't like this thread, just complain to the mods and they can decide if they want to pull it or pin it for forumwide use. I personally like the idea, but people can be a little touchy about the rules around here. We will see what happens. My thread starts tomorrow afternoon with 50+ DC 80 pagers (30+ in 9.0 up) as well as other stuff including Strange Tales, Mystery in Space, and assorted other junk. At least 100 books will be listed in the next few days, lots of high grade and some peds including Green River, Mass, Boston, Northland and Oakland. NO PRE SALES. Sorry. Now, at least, I'll know when NOT to sell . . . Actually, y'know, I kinda like the random serendipity of it all . . .
  5. I thought Priority automatically came with tracking. Anyways, unless there's good reason to believe that BCC is lying, I agree with what the others here have said, that it's basically the seller's responsibility to ensure safe delivery unless there is tracking and/or insurance. Given that the mailing took place during December, when the postal system goes crazy, I would say that both of you should give it at least 2 more weeks before reaching a settlement. Since it's only been 2 weeks, this transaction is not even eligible for probation yet and probably should have been brought up in the Discussion thread instead. Tracking only comes automatically with Priority if you purchase it online. Otherwise I agree with Tim wholeheartedly
  6. I don't know from BCC, but if he's trustworthy (and not some flake) than you as seller are responsible for the safe delivery of the book, tracked or otherwise. The tracking is for your benefit, not his. On the other hand, I can vouch for deamentia Who the freak is BCC?

  9. The purpose of this thread is to alert sellers and buyers to Board transactions, that for one reason or another have gone south, and have not been resolved by and between the participants to the transaction. To impart any greater meaning or duty to this thread is somewhat of a disservice to all. Old man was on the probation thread earlier this year. He reached a resolution with all of the complaining parties at the time he was put on the list. It has been reported that he has since involved himself in other transactions, and not completed them. As the rules go, he will remain on the list until notice of resolution is received from each of those complaining parties. It's interesting that Board members have their own opinions on how to use the information herein, but as there is no enforcement power beyond publication, there is no way to take comprehensive action.
  10. I hope so Final bid was $410.00  (thumbs u  (thumbs u
  11. I'm glad someone around here actually get's it! This is why we love you Sharon!
  12. I think it's fine the way it is. You don't put reputable names on the list, it would only lead to confusion. The "majority vote" notation is only to refer to the exception made in his, ahem, election.
  13. Let's take the discussion to the "discussion thread" and keep this one on track . . . 12/03/07 PROBATION UPDATE The following Forum Members are currently on "probation" for failure to complete a transaction in good faith after one month's time: bronzejunkie (added 3/26/07) clobberintime (added 11/7/07) comicmankev (added 3/27/07) donavan74 (added 3/27/07) Fandango (added 11/7/07) Ghastly (added by majority vote 12/3/07) Herald2Galactus (Inaugural Member & 1st "Hall of Shame" Member) Joker-Fish (added 8/9/07) Lighthouse (added 6/13/07) Nascar (added 6/2/07) newkingintown (added 10/18/07) Sid (added 8/8/07) SpiderJay300 (added 9/15/07)

  15. I voted but I don't see why we even need a poll. I don't consider the Probation list to be limited solely to non-shipment/payment of books. It could just as easily apply to grossly inaccurate grading, packaging resulting in damage, etc. String him up! The probation list was initially established to deter this behavior.
  16. It appears that Ghastly has voted . . .
  17. Although the Probation List has previously been limited to deadbeats, I believe we have an exceptionally "ghastly" situation here. Please submit your vote to the following poll:
  18. Methinks Mr. Ghastly will not sell another book here . . .
