  1. Here's a Norman Reedus pencil drawing I just finished...hope to get him and Stan Lee to autograph these both in New Orleans this weekend.
  2. Here's a pencil drawing of Stan Lee I just finished....thanks for looking!
  3. 19 9.9's...500+ 9.8's....but only 1 of these...just got'er back yesterday..
  4. This past Saturday I had a lady come in and ask if I was interested in any animation cels,so I said maybe..let me see what you have. So we went outside and unfortunately there were very little cels..but there were a lot of sketches, and prelims. It turns out her husband was a man named Tom Ray. He worked for Warner Bros.,Disney,Hanna Barbera, and many other animation studios. His career began in the late '30's and into the '80's. He worked with Chuck Jones and many of the top animators back in the day. He was also one of 5-6 different artists that worked on the classic Grinch Who Stole Christmas movie from 1966. These are some great Grinch sketches I picked up from her (Tom passed away at 91 in 2010)....they are all roughly 10 1/2 x 13....
  5. CGC has been berry berry good to me!......
  6. So this guy is in my store an hour ago selling me some Magic cards and he looks up on the wall and sees some Walking Dead comics. He says "I had no idea those were worth that"...He said he bought the first 20 issues when they came out.and tells me about the #1 that he threw away 2 weeks ago because it had been sitting in his car for months. Says he thought he might still have one of the issues in his car. So he brings this back in.... possibly the worst copy out there. The pages are stuck together and it's stiff as a board. What a shame! He left and said he was going to look for the other 19 at home!
  7. I just watch some of these so called comedy sitcoms to see how many times the audience/laugh track/sweetner is used. 99% of the time,it's just not funny. It's very annoying to hear fake unnecessary laughs constantly. I miss you Larry David!
  8. Here's my house, and this is the early stages of Hurricane Sandy here in Norfolk,Va,...The worst high tides are going to be tonight at 9pm...and the worst tomorrow morning 9am.
  9. I just cant bring myself to do it. I hope it sells well for you Larry, but there so far as a comic book collector I will go and this book just crosses the line for me. I am sure I am missing out but I just cant do it. There has got to be some other boardies thinking along the same lines. I am right with you. It's not a judgement of those that decide to collect or speculate on the book. While this title is geared towards a young girl audience, it isn't scripted, drawn, printed and marketed by children....it's done by adults. This doesn't make the people involved "creepy", it shouldn't make people who feel that there's money to be made by speculating on it creepy. It makes them business savvy. You guys don't realize that there is a My Little Pony Pop Culture Phenom going on right now...I thought it was just a young girls thing too but it's like Hello Kitty has gotten in the last few years....it is appealing to teenagers and college kids (male & female). There's a lot of current cool Pop Culture tapping into the My Little Pony world and vice/versa.
  10. This came in a collection today....first time I've ever seen a copy in person...Unfortunately the cover is not attached and only holding on by about 1/2 inch. Book is complete though. ...
  11. I sell a lot on Ebay. I don't mind 0 feedback bidders when it's something small. But last night I had a guy..1 feedback...bid up and won 6-7 of my auctions for a total of $450+. I caught him about halfway through my TMNT action figure auctions, before I blocked his bidding...and another account he was using to bid (that one had 4 feedbacks). The few feedbacks this clown had...were all positive, but the comments left were about how this guy was a non paying bidder. (The change that Ebay made to where a seller cannot leave a negative is the biggest turn off about their system.) What really sucks about it...These were week long auctions and this fool comes in at the end and screws it up for me and the guys that really wanted the item. And the bad part is...nobody will accept the second chance offer because they'd rather it get relisted. So it's another week I have to wait before I might sell it.
  12. From Diamond Comics today........ To our retail partners – Last month, Image Comics released the 100th issue of The Walking Dead to near-universal acclaim and the biggest first week sales of a single comic book since 1997. We couldn't have done that without you. When Robert Kirkman first launched The Walking Dead in 2003, orders were under 10,000. In fact, they were just a hair over 7,000. But we sold out immediately and within a few months, sales were moving upwards. Better still, thanks to your enthusiasm and support, sales have kept moving upwards – if not every month, then most months – and today, The Walking Dead is being ordered in quantities almost 10 times that of the first issue. That's a true success story – not just for Robert Kirkman and Image Comics, but for the entire Direct Market. Everyone at Image, as well as Robert's Skybound imprint, is incredibly appreciative of your hard work and support. We wouldn't be here without you – this industry wouldn't be here without you – and while we may not say it nearly often enough, we are eternally grateful for everything you do. With that in mind, we're sending you a special limited edition variant for The Walking Dead #100, signed by Robert, and featuring the now infamous Lucille. This is one of the rarest of all the variants for issue #100 and will not be available for order, and it's our hope that it helps to convey our gratitude for your business and your continued support. So again, from Robert Kirkman, Charlie Adlard, everyone at Skybound Entertainment and Image Comics, and myself – THANK YOU. Eric Stephenson Publisher Image Comics
  13. he's been selling for a year and that was the stuff that was still there???!!
  14. You sold 24 copies of the chase variant on ebay? he pretty clearly states he got 11 copies, where did you gt 24? must be a law thing I was asking. Hence the question mark. On ebay completed listings "Comickings" sold 24 copies of Spawn 22. I know everyone hates attorneys, but I'm a comic guy - you can give me the benefit of the doubt. Don't know why it's showing you that many. In less than 24 hours we sold (8) of the 3 cover sets on Ebay and (1) set in the store between $99-$129. That was before I found out there were only 400 copies(supposedly).... I lucked out on Ebay early Wednesday and found a "Buy it Now" on the chase for $6.95...haven't recieved it yet,so still crossing my fingers on that one! Just did miss one that was listed for $5.99 "Buy it Now". A few hours later more hit at $40-$60 with Buy it Nows and everyone got snapped up immediately....then a guy put one at $100...sold...then the $260/set auction last night, and here we are. 400 copies total? Possibly. But I figured there would be a big jump in orders because it was supposed to be the Walking Dead issue. Maybe the chase was a bonus McFarlane threw in there for the retailers that did order a lot anticipating the Walking Dead. I was pretty pissed when I opened the boxes and saw that Tremor cover staring back at me. Just thinking about having to email everybody I presold to and explain what happened, pretty much sucked. But selling that chase variant sure did make up for it all!
  15. One place I saw it posted, was on the Spawn Facebook page.
  16. I ordered 500 copies of 222.Got 11 copies of the chase variant.I was pretty disappointed when we saw the cover had been changed. All I could think about was all the presales I had made. So I got online and saw the chase variant.Went back to the 2 boxes of 222 I had and started digging. Got 5 out of 1 box and 6 out of the other. Wasn't until we sold 8 of the 11 that I found out there were only 400! Now today...1 of each of the 3 covers sold on Ebay for $260!! CRAZY!!!
  17. One good thing...the unannounced chase variant! (one seller on Ebay is saying that this is limited to 400 copies, anybody know for sure?) This book is smokin' hot and any dealer that ordered a decent amount of quantity on this issue should be able to make up for the inconvenience. We presold alot of copies of the original that we thought was going to be the Walking Dead version and only 1 person out of over 30+ didn't want to wait until next month. They all understood this was something we dealers had no control over.
  18. Spawn #222 is returnable for dealers because of the unannounced cover switch.
  19. well the story....WOW! The packing up of 240 sets....SUCKED! 125 damaged copies of one cover (thanks UPS)...AND shorted 190 copies of one cover and 210 copies of another issue. Am supposed to get replacements all tomorrow but had hoped to have this day behind me at this hour. Back to the story...WOW! Eek - how did you get shorted? was that just a shipping error? Do you have to file a claim with UPS or you go direct with your supplier? I have experience with UPS insurance and it wasn't pleasant! good luck! The shortage is...a missing box....it falls back on my distributor and they deal with UPS...the bad thing is it's a box that can only hold 2 sealed cases of comics...in this case these are 200 count cases...we are missing 438 copies...so i'm going to get shorted regardless. My distributor says it should show up today. An extra day of traveling has me worried about it getting banged up more before I get it. Sometimes when there are shortages...our distributor cannot fill the order because they book has sold out and they don't have any replacements in stock. We'll see.
  20. well the story....WOW! The packing up of 240 sets....SUCKED! 125 damaged copies of one cover (thanks UPS)...AND shorted 190 copies of one cover and 210 copies of another issue. 21. 10 minutes til WD-Day!! UPS truck making his way through the parking lot...crossing fingers for no damages....gotta pack up 240+ sets....after I read it of course!!
