So I was surprised this morning to see this post come through on a Facebook group. A long time collector had some extra time and decided to sort his books on his kitchen table this weekend. That's some sorting!

It just goes to show that there are still plenty of raw gems out there destined to come for sale someday!!

Amazing!!!  Could be 500k-1 mill on that table.

I saw some of these Sensations go for high dollar, but blissard is a well known solid seller.  Sells on here sometimes too I forgot his user name though.

  3. From the present to the distant future if someone looks up the what/where/when of the “comic book”, the prevailing information will be a Action 1 cover to represent the origin of the medium and the super hero and Captain America 1 cover will represent the time, place, and the greatest comic creator in history.

  4.

I like the list, but the more D-level characters that you include, alla Night Nurse, Moondragon, etc., the more exponential the list becomes. Is New Gods #7 (1st Steppenwolf) really a "definitive Bronze Age Key"? If you want to just make a listing of all BA 1st appearance books, we can do that...but in my collection, not all 1st appearance books are "Keys".

If we're doing that, I'd add these...a notation as to why they are "key" would be nice for any listing as well:

Is Cat #1 the fist app?

I’d like to see this list ranked by value, but don’t have the time atm to do that.

  6. Not sure if it’s your issue or not, but sometimes they have to wait to get the book from the consigner, check it, pack it up in a new box and ship it to you.  If you call and ask after you win they can tell you if they already have it or not.  I want yo say that some places will only auction books that are on site.  But I’m not sure if that’s CC or CL etc.

Hey guys, so some horrible stuff happened yearserday to me, long story short I bought a copy of strange tales 89 and I’m lookin through it being very careful as o always try to be with older comics, the whole bottom spine was gone but the back cover was still attached by a thread or so to the top staple and the back was attached for eh front... well I guess I opened they book a wrong way and it touched the backboard strange and “RIP” the back cover detached from the top and the from cover... so now it went from a attached cover and not Fully split to a fully split cover and attachment... ? I feel so horrible... the comic is for my PC anyway so o don’t really care about the value as that’s not why I collect but i am so angry at myself because it did not have to happen and I caused it... any insights or anything on what to do... what should I do with it... etc. just wanted to ask you guys... though when I put it in the Mylar and place the front dm back rightfully it looks great... then again I like opening it... ? pictures attached are in the bag (detached and split)

Don’t feel bad.  Books like that are a ticking time bomb so it was just a matter of time.  Imo it’s better now that it’s clean apart.  Much easier to handle.  I found it easy to damage a book in other ways if you have have to awkwardly hold it to compensate for the fragile area.

A much underappreciated book.   Batman kills people.   The first arch-villain in superhero comics created to be recurring villain; 1st use of a major comic trope: the end panel with a bad guy behind bars vowing to return.

Thanks for the info, I didn’t know all of this.
