  1. Wait...I missed an ASM #50??????????

    :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

Yeah, but it was in poor condition and only worth $40-$50.

    :jokealert:

I know you're joking, but the value of that book was way off. I sold one here on the boards for $125 that was in similar condition if not worse.

    The book moves pretty quickly.

    It sure did. ;)

  2. I was re-reading the rules, as I think they are not worded enough clearly in other cases. hm

For example, what does it mean, precisely «the offeror has "veto power" to reject a take it of their offer»?

If that’s he has the right to refuse a pick up from a certain member, OK, but that was not the case we have encountered so far, as the veto was applied after the new offer was posted, i.e. it was not about the "takeit" but about the new offer from the taker.

Also, I seem to get the veto does not result in a strike. If so, if one takes an offer with good intentions and gets vetoed, nothing happens?

Inversely, how one could realize if the offer does not meet the expectations if he’s not allowed to rescind? I mean if one is in good faith and just do not realize his offer would not be (maybe) accepted well.

In my opinion the a) b) etc. specifications are also a bit confusing, at least formatted as they are.

Have you considered starting your own thread?

  3. Let me be clear about something. I didn't rescind my offer because of the threat of a strike hanging over my head. I rescinded my offer because I realized right away, after a couple of pointed posts, that my offers were not as up-to-snuff as I thought they were. I had, admittedly, posted the same offers (minus the one that was taken) as I had in the PIF thread (and yes ... I realize this isn't PIF) and my initial offer in that thread was snatched up quite quickly, so I thought maybe the others were decent offers. I discovered they were not.

I have no desire to attempt to take any offers here, because I know (now) that what I have to offer will not be up-to-snuff for you people. It won't be anything CGC'd, and it won't be anything Silver or Gold, because I don't have any high-grade SA or GA books. What I had initially offered were books, HCs and trades, that I had read, and enjoyed, and pulled from my personal collection.

I don't appreciate the accusations that a) I was trying to foist things I no longer wanted in an attempt to take something better or that b) I rescinded my offer because I was afraid of a strike. I rescinded my offer because I realized it wasn't good enough.

I did state, at the time I tried to take the ASM books, that I was only interested in one of them. I did not realize I couldn't do that. The 299 would have been RAK'd, if I'd been able to take the offer.

There was no "butthurt" at the time, as Harvey so wonderfully put it. There was no "attitude" as Meeklo stated. There was an attempt at humour, that obviously didn't hit the target, and for that, I am sorry. Not everybody can have an awesome a sense-of-humour as me. :D

What about cash? Got any cash?

  4. There is already a discussion thread about PIF and The Trading Post thread – maybe it could work for all three.

Is the trading thread a go already? I don't see it (shrug)

At this point I am a little concerned about starting it. I feel that a few people will intentionally threadcrap it.

As far as the second take it and rescission goes, I feel like it was done purposely to test Swick and the rules. The timing and manner in which it was done felt unnatural and staged.

I hope you don’t consider "threadcrap" the discussion which happened. I am still wondering why Meeklo got the strike, considered he rescinded in time. (shrug)

Wonder makes for a fine muse in stories and art. Not really for enforcement and interpretation of rules though.

+ 1 Well said, Hokie. :applause:

  5. Meeklo abided by the rules: I can’t see why he should get the veto.

And even not to post free offers: this is really nonsense.

Claudio - I need you to just take a step back and think about this for a second. That's nice of Meeklo to offer up something for free. (thumbs u But he was vetoed and got a strike so there comes with it a penalty. That penalty is a one month suspension. That includes RAK's whether that is giving or taking. I'm going to enforce the rule if someone tries to TAKE an offering as well so I'm just being fair both ways. I don't know why this is a difficult concept to understand. A one month suspension means just that. (shrug) There is nothing preventing Meeklo from coming back in a month and offering up the same stuff free again.

    Again, what motivates that rule?

What I don’t understand is this idea of generosity. This is simply a thread about exchanging material. Generosity does not need rules, and does not need to be visible.

    :roflmao:

Not surprising of you. Go ahead.

    .

And honestly, I am not interested to follow up.

Honestly? You don't seem so honest.

  7. Meeklo, as you received a Strike, I'm sorry but there is no participation for a month. RAK's included. :sorry:

I'm sure they'll gladly be claimed in a month. :foryou:

Well since the ability for me to own up to my own mistake was taken from me and I "have" to accept a strike…I think I'll leave this up as a goodwill token. Makes me feel better being able to do something I believe is right without anyone judging me or it. So if anyone wants it, feel free to post a :takeit: or even PM me a :takeit: if you feel like you could be cast out from the group.

    Anarchy !!! :ohnoez:
