Last week I bought a #8 from eBay. I message the seller first to make sure it was a first print. He assured me it was..

I received the book this week. I opened it immediately to check the printing.... It was a second print.

 

So I had the seller give me a refund.. and I put that towards a different #8 on eBay. I made sure to message this new seller to confirm it was a first print. The new seller confirmed that it was. So I received it today, opened it...... Another Second F'n Print!!

 

WTF!!!!!

 

You should be able to tell the printing by looking at the UPC box. The second print has 00812 inside the box.

 

That is, if they're showing the actual image in the listing.

Happened to me too man. Kept it and got another one first print

I'll have to return this new one.. I just feel like all the first prints on eBay are actually second prints.

I just spoke to the head modern grader and he said as long as you request it and that information is correct that they will go ahead and add it.

 

If you do decide to do that though, just so that there isn't any confusion can you go ahead and when you ship that in put ATTN: BREE on the package so that I know what you are asking and I will take care of it for you.

In order to request that first appearances or etc be added to the labels you would have to send the books in for us to grade. With a note asking that those appearances be noted. If the graders fill it is relevant they will then add it. If you already have a book that is graded that you wanted the label changed or things added you must send that back with a note and you will be charged the $12 reholder fee if the label gets changed.

About what? Seems straight forward.

The part that has me concerned is: "If the graders feel it is relevant they will then add it"

So does that mean I could submit a bunch of books and they could come back without the first appearance notes on it?

As a fan, and collector (not as a flipper), as soon as I heard the news about the movie, I wanted to own a copy of Ms Marvel #1.

All that matters is what book the fans want. And whether it is logical or not, that book is Ms Marvel 1.

Doesn't CGC note Ms Marvel 1 as the first appearance of Carol Danvers as Ms Marvel?

What does it take to get CGC to note the first appearances on a label? I would love to slab some of my Sagas and be able to see "First Appearance of The Will.. Gwendolyn.. The Stalk.. etc"

 

Did a quick search. Send them this list. I think I covered the major appearances.

I wonder how much effort Marvel has put into getting the Silver Surfer film rights back from Fox? It is hard to picture the Infinity Gauntlet story without him.

You know how the movie industry is. They don't have to strictly follow the storyline from comics. They can do whatever they like.

 

I think Aunt May would be a good sub for Silver Surfer .
