  9. Hey again all, welcome to raising funds for a brand new baby.....not mine though! My best friend has just had his second child and would like to sell some of his collection to help with all the bills. He lives out of province from me so while I wasn't able to inspect the issues personally I've had him take lots of pictures of each issue so that it will be very easy for you all to see the conditions - there are pretty much low to mid grade raw books and will price them so they affordable and account for anything we might have missed. All issues are complete, and unless otherwise noted covers and wraps are all firmly attached to the staples - basically the only faults with these issues will be shown in the photos. Please no hall of shamers or probies. We will ship anywhere in North America, and I only accept Pay Pal. All prices are in USD. $9 shipping within Canada, and $12.00 for shipping to the USA, extra issues beyond the first we'll ship free. First timestamped gets it. Will be posting new issues throughout the day (9 single issues, and one lot of X-Men comics sold together) so stay tuned!
  10. Thanks to Rick i'm now addicted to Planet Comics, and thus will spiral towards utter financial ruin as I satisfy this glorious golden age itch. Awesome guy to deal with!
  11. Amazing condition other than the stain. I want to say the tops for this 6.0-6.5 as I am unsure how much such a stain impacts the overall grade in this case on such a great looking book,
  12. Bought a sweet graded copy of More Fun Comics #61 from Howling Mad and it was a perfect transaction - excellent communication and exceptional shipping of a high value book.
  13. Yeah i'm aware of those, I was talking about this thread in which everyone knows better The point was about name usage as a fun offhand when Marvel started to utilize the name and when they might have decided it would be better used for a flagship character (not some throwaway monster)
  14. I don't think anyone is considering, nor suggesting, they are prototypes. Rather it suggests the name for the 'real' Hulk wasn't something established early on (otherwise why would they slap it on several monsters a year prior when a major new hero was supposed to come out). I would be interested to know when exactly the name 'Hulk' was applied to the Bruce Banner identity in the creative process.
  15. If you REALLY want to get crazy loose with it, then how about Tales to Astonish #21 in 1961. A story features 'The Hulk', but later when the story was reprinted the monster's name was changed from to Glop in order to avoid confusion (though in that reprint they actually recolour him to now be green!)
  16. Buy the graders notes first, then if the faults are easy enough to deal with get it cleaned and pressed again. I could see this being a 9.6 if all goes well.
  17. Both good news - this might be one of the few ways we get a live action Phantom Stranger depiction, and even the slight possibility of getting a new Swamp Thing movie just causes my brain to melt. Yessss!!!!
  18. Well...SIGH....episode four is a return to disjointed form in regards to the story and lackluster dialogue scripting. Rather disappointing after the great previous episode, as this switches to what amounts to a throw away monster-of-the-week episode with no real weight to its danger (and one that is resolved far to quickly and easily, with all the humans acting unrealistic in response to it). Feels like everyone other than Swamp Thing are the only ones working on figuring out what Swamp Thing is, while he just sits in the swamp twiddling his thumbs. I really expected more existential anguish and self reflection on Swamp Things part as he struggles, all alone, with what he has become and all the new sensory experiences he is now in tune with (rather we just get a throw-away line that 'the plants are talking to me'). The fraying sanity of Alec is the real interesting stuff, so they should give us that - not some cool and calm Swamp Thing just waiting around for Abby to figure it all out for him. The good new is the entire episode once again looked amazing, and the sound mixing was excellent - a technical masterpiece of a show.
