I really can't say that Pike's Comics trashed these two books. He gave his opinion. I gave mine. We all give our opinions on here. I passed on the two because so many variant covers were coming out. I like the new Uber book but with so many covers it's scaring me off a bit.

It is but for some reason you just don't see them very often. Very curious to what that print run was. CGC doesn't notate it any differently but maybe because they don't know the difference.

I'm trying and I was excited that I just grabbed a #22 with the black spidey this past week.

I usually get some with a bunch of recent negatives winning my auctions...so doesn't matter when they end.

We've clearly laid the ground work for a fairly complex universe, so we're hoping we can continue as long as people will have us. I already have outlines for a second arc and I certainly know the “last” Five Ghosts story, so we're definitely inspired to keep things moving. I'm excited at seeing all the “seeds” that people are already catching—even in the first issue we've hinted at bigger pictures and a macro story. The first five issues do certainly tell a complete yarn, however, but it really leaves us open to further explore the universe.

 

Translation = NOT going to be a miniseries and we're in the driver's seat. It's ready to explode if the readers demand it to be so.

 

I love the fact that Chris is a student of the styles of so many classic artists...

like Joe Kubert, John Buscema, Gene Colan, Alex Toth, Mike Mignola, Frank Miller, Klaus Janson, John Romita Jr....

 

It's apparent in his work and it speaks to me as a reader. I grew up with those artists and stylistically it appeals to me at a visceral level.

 

I'll say it again: this comic hits all the right buttons. It's just too bad I've only got one issue to read.....I'm climbing the walls for the 2nd. Screw monthly releases.....someone change the trends to weekly releases!!! LMAO.

We'll have to chain Frank and Chris to desks until they've completed the SECOND ARC....then we'll allow you guys to eat and have fun again......

I've never ordered from Mile High but I notice that they are the most expensive on back issues.

I was surprised to see Howard Chaykin was the artist for issue #1 of the Marvel series.

 

That series has some amazing cover art btw.

Saw this one at my LCS but I passed and picked up a #42 for a couple of bucks. I picked up so many comic books today since they were running their Mega Sale which was 65% off all back issues. I picked up books like The Activity, Revival for a couple dollars each. I picked up all their Deadpool for my son for like a dollar and some change.

how were your forbidden planet issues packed by the way? curious to know how they pack for international shipments

They packed 2 per a cardboard envelope and each issue was bagged & boarded with another board in the front of each issue. All the cardboard envelopes were then placed into a bubble mailer. All the way from the UK on two different shipments and zero damage. I can't say the same for all the shipments I've had from Midtown.

All my Forbidden Planet East of West issues came in so tell me why is it that I have zero damage on any of these but every single time I order from Midtown they have corner damage?!

So why hasn't Batman & Robin #19 sold out yet? It doesn't seem like there is a limit on Midtown.

And DC has done a massive overprint, that signals to me there is something up with this book. It has Justice League 12 or Batman Incorporated 8 potential at best.

 

If flipping for a few bucks a unit ain't your style, avoid this one.

Larry, when is the next Revival Phantom Variants to be released?

The ones in TX are closer than the ones here in LA. I have 3 that are 30 mins- 1 hr away. Normally, I just try to wait til they go online bc they're cheaper than the gas to drive there.

Awww gonads! My Thanos Hastings variants with Deadpool and the whoopee cushion order got cancelled. "Out of stock", meaning the ebay seller slept late and didn't get to the shop in time to get however many copies he presold or they put a limit on them and he was S.O.L., and so am I.

 

I'm hopefully grabbing a couple of these today. PM me.

Hastings has a weird way of allocating their variants to the stores. When Deadpool was on the final issue of A vs X, I bought 24 from one store. That same store received 0 of the Uncanny Avengers variant I know no one else got them as I watched the employee cut the boxes for me.

Check some of the older auctions and lots were won cheaper. This could just be a bidding war.

Just found out that the 3 Revival #1's I submitted in October came back as 9.8's !!!
