  1. I went with Spectacular Spiderman 1 9.6. Figured it would be an early speculation book that people would need to slab to get any money back out of it. Also, there cant be that many Spectacular run collectors anymore who are still holding their treasured raw copies.
  2. Crud... my favorite cover in the run. Wish I could've seen it. Nice haul, though.
  3. No more rules disputes, everyone uses the same terms. In exchange, sellers benefit from premium selling space. Buyers also benefit from doing business with proven members of the community. It's not perfect, but worth a discussion, I think.
  4. What about two sections? I've been wondering if it's worth having subsections in the sales forum for approved sellers only. One fixed set of rules, approved by members, written in stone. Not on the list? Cant post in these subforums. Have gold/silver/bronze, and copper/modern/other for approved sellers only. Brand new members or occasional sellers can do it in "uncertified - all ages". New members can be voted in based on good behavior in uncertified.
  5. That was 1968, when print runs spiked, wasn't it? Hawkman finished about that time, but no one's saying there are too many copies around, just no interest at all. There are definitely too many issues of Subby floating around, there have been since I was a kid. I can argue that you probably want the first 20, if not the first 35. That was a good title.
  6. Did he retire, or was he losing money? Looks residential, but real estate in Vancouver is horrendous no matter where you are, isnt it?
  7. A great book, to be sure, but not at all difficult to find in that grade. Earth 2 stuff in general doesn't interest collectors anymore, apart from Flash 123, but there are a ton of S.A. Flash collectors right now. Grundy, Fate, and Hourman all appeared on TV already, and the price on this one didn't move in mid-grade, so if you bought it to spec, I'd sell them and put the money into something else.
  8. The Kubert issues of Brave and the Bold maintain strong prices, but the regular title has been flat for years. I've seen a slight uptick in interest in Atom in the last couple of years, but both titles seem like a bargain at their current prices. Why dont they sell? Too many surviving copies? Are the stories horrible? Run collectors scared off because they have to pay for the Zatanna key? Run issues dumped on the market because of the Zatanna key?
  9. Thank you. I tried googling images from Tuska's Iron Mans to show everyone, but the art is so bad, it probably broke any scanner it was sitting on. We're talking worse than the worst Larsen, worse than Scott Kolins inking his own stuff, worse than the laziest JR Jr you've ever seen. I don't understand how the publisher accepted any of it.
  10. Lois Lane 70-71, first silver age Catwoman.
  11. Agreed. If an individual is willing to engage in unfair practices, we want to know. Even if it's "only craigslist," that speaks to the character of the individual.
  12. Is that the guy with the angry facemask and gears on his shoulders? I didn't know there was an earlier appearance than the Amazing Spidey annual, and never bothered to check. Good to know, all the dirty flippers are going to be scrounging dollar bins for that one.
  13. Marv Wolfman and Carmine Infantino... if people opened it once in a while, I'm sure they'd like it too!
  14. I'm a very small fish here, and I can only speak for myself, but I dont look at your sales threads anymore. To me, they seem heavy on Archie and GGA, which isnt my thing at all. That's what your buyers are buying, so I get it, but not my cup of tea.
  15. How many is several? I've seen many threads where the poster says "I know these are copper/modern, and but I only have a few" and that's been okay.
  16. Looks familiar. Did this one come from a boardie? Any tanning or browning inside the covers? Makes a big difference.
  17. Yup, and in your rules, say that person is blocked from buying due to a history of bad practices. You get to out him, and you also get increased traffic to your thread! ... just dont post it on a Friday.
  18. Never bought from DTA, but their feebay listings look consistently overgraded. I hate clicking on a book and seeing that it's theirs.
  19. Did you chat about the books, or just cut and run? I'm curious how he ended up with two 103's, but no 102.
  20. I've never seen this comic before, but it's a gorgeous piece of work. I'm dismayed that a 10 minute sketch like Archie 50 gets so much more attention, just because there are boobs. Flame on!
  21. The first picture makes it look attached, but the others are obviously detached.
