Surgery is over. Paul's currently in recovery so it will still be some time before family can go visit. But all in all everything is positive.

I sent books in last week via 3 day Priority and the post office is doing a fine job not delivering. Package was delayed, then showed up in Jacksonville on Saturday morning. System then updated to note a delivery of today 12/9. I was thinking I was in the clear but now the tracking systems states "In Transit, Arriving Late" Jacksonville is like 3 and a 1/2 hours from CGC, I'm bummed that I'm going to miss the cut off.

Hello everyone, for those of you who don't know me, my name is Chuck Roman. I’ve been on the boards for a few years and have made and met some very great people here! One of those being Paul Litch. I know a lot of you might know of Paul as he’s been with CGC for 20 years, grading all of our wonderful comics!!! What you might not know is that Paul has long dealt with Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis, a rare form of a kidney disease. This is a disease that attacks the kidney’s filtering units (glomeruli) causing serious scarring which leads to permanent kidney damage and even failure. Paul's condition took a turn for the worse a few months ago and had progressed to the point of dialysis becoming necessary. Paul had undergone a surgery to implant a catheter device to receive daily dialysis, which hasn’t been the easiest on him. He’s had up and down days since the surgery while he has patiently searched for a kidney donor. Paul received some great news the other day that a donor has been found!!! The person wishes to remain anonymous is doing a paired donation - which means that the person will give up a kidney for someone else who has a kidney that matches Paul’s more closely. Light at the end of the tunnel for this ordeal. We have been rising funds on GoFundMe to help Paul and his family with medical expenses as we know medical insurance doesn’t cover everything. Depends on your reason for wanting to get it graded.... If its because you like the book, it has you LCS stamp on it, and it for your personal collection...sure If its because you think you can flip it for mad money...pass

I was able to get 2 days but only because a buddy lucked out. Now hoping to score the other days during the next sale.

Does anyone that has done PreScreen recently know if CGC are charging your credit card right away? In the past my CC wasn’t charged until CGC figured out how many passed the prescreen. My 25 book prescreen was marked as received today and CGC charged my card as well. Not a big deal on the card charge just wondering If they’ve changed their process.

From your OP it read as if you were asking to see if its worth a spec pick up. And thats why I noted if spec isnt what you are interested in, you should pick up along with the rest of the story. It's pretty good. Right spot to post probably would have been in the Walking Dead thread here in the modern section.
