Hulk 180 is not in any way comparable to the current ads/previews situation

DC Comics Presents #26 is a fun one because they call it a "Preview" on the cover, but it's an original story in a comic book that is a 1st appearance of those characters.

The word "Preview" on the cover is in reference to the new title/series being started.  It is a preview of a new title, which has not yet started... while being the full first appearance of the characters that will star in that title.

    I subscribe to this.

I do a little speculating and I don’t believe ads are true first appearances unless it’s an original story. I think those ads will always have a place in the hobby. I think the prices being paid are ridiculous but it’s not my money. If I had one I’d for sure of sold it and bought some silver age keys

I know I did. You're speaking nothing but the truth. (worship)

If it contains an original story most collectors would consider it a true first. If it’s just a preview of what’s in the issue then most wouldn’t consider it a true first.

I understand what you're saying.  This hobby has its warts.  Some things do not make any blasted sense.  Ms. Marvel was another classic example of 1st appearances.  Heck even Strange Academy had a preview in other books before the 1st issue was released.  IMO if you have a full shot and you're in more than 1 panel then it should be considered a 1st appearance.  A silhouette, or 1 picture should be considered a cameo.  I know I am not the authoritative figure to determine this is just my opinion.

Oh, please do not go on and on and talk about this book.  You might awaken the bad people. :o

Either way good luck and it looks like you are playing with house money. :applause:

Yeah, that’s a huge number. It looks cool, but not sure if 70,000 sales cool. Who knows.

When did Image start doing store and ratio variants again? I’ve seen a lot of newer image books getting the store exclusive treatment and this one also has a 1:10, 1:25, and a 1:50

I'm going in on this book.  I'm not going to lie, I still suffer from Image abandonment. lol  I'm up to 5 copies of 1:50 and maybe 6 of the 1:25.

  6. Here is a book burning up eBay I have not seen anyone talk about.  Maybe you guys have and I missed it.  This is impressive either way.  I think HBO picked this up.

I had to pick up 2 sets of the NYCC variant once I saw this.

  7. Well I am officially priced out of the market for that book.  I have NEVER seen a modern book shoot up so high that fast!  HA just sold a copy for $14,400 and now there is another on eBay for $20K after one sold for $15K.  This book now costs as much as a low grade AF15!  I even thought about downgrading my X-Men 1 to buy a 9.8 UF4 variant. I am absolutely shocked. I refuse to pay $20K for a modern, I just can't wrap my head around that.  Good luck to all the owners.  I wonder what this book will be when a movie drops or when he gets introduced into the MCU?  I am not sure when or if this book will ever come back down to earth.

Bleeding Cool keeps mentioning it along with Radiant Black, the new Snyder Series and the new Jeff Johns series every time BC writes about a shared Image universe.

I’m not really sure how that would work with different creators each owning their own IPs and playing in the same sandbox.

But, with Marvel and DC trashing continuity over and over, maybe Image and these established creators see an opening (shrug)

I wouldn't mind getting those titles as long as they follow through on them.  They had a shared universe before and then went away from it and now it looks like Radiant Black kicks it off again.  I just wanted to know who is playing in that sandbox.

Just did thanks.  I have not seen a 8.0 for $4200 in a long time. The 9.2 price seems low too. Thanks for the info and I will keep my eyes open. :wishluck:

this 9.0 just sold on HA for the pretty dull price of $5,280. well under recent sales. perhaps because it is shockingly overgraded. this would be lucky to get an 8.0 if graded now. check out all the spine ticks.

I need to be a part of this club again.  What are 9.0 and 9.2 going for now? What's the GPA?
