  1. No, that's advertising. Or capitalism. I'm fine with both.
  2. man, I've kinda noticed it. any buzz for the book is good, lets hope it keeps up!
  3. Wow. I think this sums up my thoughts exactly. Well put.
  4. You mean this? I'll stand by that. You want big sales (like TWD previously mentioned), that's what you gotta do. Just a matter of time before Invincible and Saga go that route. These creators aren't dumb, they're in this for money. The transition to screen poses the biggest possible margin of profit and expansion of the properties, especially with the way the Hollywood market is eating up comic book properties. I hope Invincible succeeds with the new format, i think it sucks the books changing, that's all. But who am I? Nobody.
  5. I thought I was in the Invincible thread. I get that. You gotta see that the undeniable growth for comic properties these days is the screen, not changing the said properties themselves. Thats what makes me nervous. I'm all for growth, you know this.
  6. That's what I'm thinking. Exactly how many more issues need to be sold to make whomever happy each month? Also, props on the 9.8, she's a beauty!
  7. I promise, if an Invincible show/cartoon/movie/whatever was announced today, sales would blow up just like TWD. That's what all the cool kids are doing these days, comics just aren't enough anymore.
  8. I interpreted other robs comment as being a shift from a straight-up superhero book into the latter. I've always enjoyed Invincible as a superhero book with great characters. The writing/art has always been great, I guess I don't understand the change or the correlation to TWD show. I guess if we are talking about Kirkmans name being on both and that TWD show would bring Kirkman fans to trying Invincible, but, honestly, I'd guess a small fraction of viewers actually read the books, so, I'm missing it.
  9. Man, if Invincible goes slice of life/funny/quirky, I'm done. Like you said, plenty of other Image books doing that.
  10. I guess. It seems you'd wanna make the jumping on point the best issue yet. Do you think the new tone will attract readers or lose them? Of course you'll say attract readers, but, man, I don't know. I hope it stays strong while Kirkman focuses on Outcast.
  11. Since we are all friends here, and fans of the book, maybe I can ask an honest question. After rereading 118 this morning, why would anyone want to "start" reading the book if this was their first issue? The recap looks like advertisements that I almost passed over and not one panel shows anyone's powers except for Oliver. I'm confused. I understand the timing, new era/start/life for our heroes, but, I don't understand the pace of the transition. Things are gonna be so crazy, comic book, yeah yeah yeah, but, let's have some bathroom banter and other stuff first. Love the colors in this issue, Beaulieu nailed it.
  12. So, Other Rob, when do we find out if the .25 gimmick worked or not. Next month maybe?
  13. So, not quite the haul I was expecting. Turned down by a few cats, but, Adi Granov came through like a champ. My second Granov piece, Space Racer. I did pick up the 101 cover and a few other pages, but, this was my main con piece from ECCC.
  14. Ahhhhhh! ECCC tomorrow! Can't wait to post the haul!
  15. Nice stuff, Mike! Your collection is growing with a quickness!
  16. so, is now as good a time as ever to sell these books? had em for close to 20 years.
  17. thats gotta be a record for that book. congrats!
  18. From your lips to Kirkmans ears, yo. I guess I feel a little differently. I kinda feel like comics in general these days have all turned into a giant speculation machine. With sooooo many titles headed for either tv or the big screen, it's gotta be on everyone's (collectors) minds when something comes out. Seriously. I haven't even read Chrononauts yet, came out 2 days ago, and it's already picked up. Hopefully Kirkman is going to pimp the hell outta Invincible Universe.
  19. Man, that lot for $1500 might not of been that bad a deal. I'm feeling the buzz creepin on Invincible. So many titles being optioned these days, just a matter of time.
  20. hey, guys! any of y'all have extra copies of the 2nd prints of 100 and 101? looked today and I'm missing those. let me know. thanks! also, totally stoked, Ottley announced he's coming to Phoenix this summer for the Con. woohoo!
  21. I think I might've sold my others a few months back along with my Sex Criminals slabs. Ugh on those moves. Ah, whatever. Still got these and a Solar run.
  22. I remember the day Rai 0 dropped. My LCS had an unprecedented "one per customer" sign. I thought it was the craziest thing. Naturally I sent my sister in after me to buy me another copy. Honestly, Valiant used to get no love. Image was so hot back then. I remember taking so much grief about loving Valiant titles. Crazy what $100 million dollars will do.
