  1. I believe that some CPR folks , if they do their due diligence and get grader notes that reveal "pressable" flaws will pay a premium... outside of that, it is just a "myth" from what I have seen (bid on, bought, etc).... sure there are examples of old label selling higher, but there are as many examples of new labels selling more.... it still should go back to the "buy the book, not the label" if you are purchasing as a collector... if you are purchasing as a reseller, then your milage may vary Thanks Rick. Your insight is helpful as always. (thumbs u
  2. Hey Rick, So in your experience, in the last two to three years, are you seeing a premium being paid for old label versus newer label books on equivalent grades?
  3. Agreed. Also, page quality may play a factor. That being said, based on what the CGC 4.5 copy sold for in March on CC, I would guess 100k or so. Idle speculation from the cheap seats, but I have a suspicion he would take an offer of $100K. My thoughts exactly.

  6. I don' think it sold because it is still listed on Greg Reece's website.
  7. Thanks Andrew. Between losing the recent ebay and HA auctions, I wasn't going to let this one slip away no matter what.
  8. I just picked this hard to find Archie #2 off of CC tonight.
  9. Thread Bump. I was able to pick this up on CC tonight. A special thanks goes out to GoldenPRGuy (Andrew) for supplying a lot of Archie wisdom along the way in my quest to pick up a copy of Archie #2.
  10. Absolutely, everyone agrees that PQ affects the final value/price of a book, but it's not the only factor. And yeah, you certainly can't attempt to draw conclusions from a limited sample of reported sales on GPA without knowing all the other factors (e.g. eye appeal) that went into the sales price. (thumbs u Great Post
  11. you haven't thought about owning two? Thought about it...? Absolutely! I've also thought about being a rock star, a professional tennis player, a movie star... isn't that what you are already ... in your free time ?
  12. I love the fact that the book has the address on the front cover. Great book Ankur.
  13. Do you really think it is movie hype that is driving this book?
  14. Seriously, how did this book get so hot all of a sudden?
  15. Beautiful Leroy! Looks like a VG +1 This book does present VG. There must be dome hidden defects we are missing. Oh...just caught spine split. CGC ceiling grade is 1.8 for completely split spine. I will take any spine split 1.8 that looks like that all day long.

  17. They will. This book is rapidly going the way of Pep 22 and Archie 1. Do you really think so Steve? If it were a few years ago I would agree with you, and seeing as how I have a great copy I would like to, but I feel like over the last two years I've seen one story after another about people trying to strip it of its significance... usually trying to call attention and value to their Pep 23 or top-notch 24, etc. Thanks for posting the link Keith! No problem Andrew. I thought Jackpot 4 had really increased in desirability over the last few years among Archie collectors.
  18. Thanks rjpb. That confirms what I was thinking the more I looked at the pictures.
  19. Seems ok to me. What makes you suspicious? I was just curious about the large amount of white pages, which appear to be attached to the book like it was leaf casted.
  20. Hey Archie experts, I just saw this listing on ebay, do you think it is legit? http://m.ebay.com/itm/161688381990?nav=SEARCH
  21. Yes. I loved it. I thought it slowed down a little in the last few episodes, and I'm not a fan of the suit, but I thought it was an awesome show. I'm really enjoying Powers too. It's not in the same class at all, it's low budget and looks it, but the story is well done. Ditch you have great taste in programs. (thumbs u
