  1. Ah, yes, one more surprise for me:
  2. 1. I'm not buying these 3 rules were actually talked about prior to this week, otherwise this post would have been created much earlier than today. 2. Ignoring the timing of these rules, it sounds like instead of applying the regular CGC grading standards to a book with items added after manufacturing, an "established artist" approached CGC, asked for a favor, and CGC obliged.
  3. There was, perhaps, some CGC wiggle room on giving these comics high grades and universal cases if Infinite Black (apparently a real comic book publisher) was listed as the publisher. Then they could say IB published this comic with an acetate cover, that is the cover to grade, and everything else is "pages". However, CGC could not do that as the actual comic is UF 4. With Marvel listed as the publisher on the CGC case, but having a large, noticeable item attached post-production by another company, there are 2 options in grading: 1) A universal label but graded as if the piece is not there (but the staple holes still are) or 2). A Green label.
  4. You are right; I didn’t pay attention to this one. It went for more than the CL 25 in relatively the same grade. Maybe the old label helped a little?
  5. This was my surprise. Anyone know why? I don’t keep track of his non-SJ issues. Oh and I won two (I think!).
  6. So who’s going to Boston Fan Expo tomorrow?
  7. I'm guessing there will be no "deals" in this auction.
  8. So he made some good points you don’t remember from a video you didn’t watch?
  9. Where was the head grading team the first time around?
  10. Or how about the census for the actual underlying book? Out of 55 non-signed submissions, 0 above 9.8
  11. What about all of the other copies still on eBay? Does the specific listing have to be reported to be taken down?
  12. Out of all of the exclusives available at C2E2, how did you/Danielle know to get in line for this one and buy 15/75 copies?
  13. Is it possible to list the weekly modern new releases under the eBay Modern category instead of Golden Age? @mycomicshop
  14. Let's not forget this, purportedly from Black Flag. Not only are Influencers and Collectors separated, but, if I'm reading this poorly formatted post correctly, the Collector's line will only have 100 of the 350 print run. Assumingly, the other 250 are for Influencers. Not to mention the fluctuating price; is the $100 for Ghost Rider and $125+ for Deadpool? How much is Venom? What does the + mean after $125? Does it change as supplies get low or how you feel that day?
  15. Can always keep a supply of Flat Rate Medium boxes on the side if/when that rate is cheaper than straight Priority.
  16. My mistake, I may have misremembered it as veterans. It was a discussion amongst veterans I was reading. But apparently it's a "tribute to fallen heroes". Hence the folded flag. Someone asked what it had to do with USA. I suppose the American flag should have been clue enough. I asked why put a USA, Stars and Stripes, folded American flag on top of an UF 4. What one has to do with the other; how these 2 things relate; why anyone cared for this cover before the release. I understand the American Flag is loosely associated with the USA.
  17. I skipped over to Grain’s IG and it seems he did work on it. As to if it’s art he added or a couple shapes…
  18. So did Crain add anything for this acetate version or did someone else add those trivial touches?
  19. I'm trying to figure out what is on the actual acetate. Comparing these side-by-side, I guess it's the "USA" and some stippled stripes, stars, and a folded flag. When people say it's the Crain exclusive, does that mean he did the extra work (above) on the acetate or b/c he did the original art for the facsimile? In any event $85 for that extra stuff.... the fix was in. And what does any of this have to do with USA?
  20. (Un) Surprisingly this hypebeast is disingenuous when saying "Black Flag comics didn't even open until a little before 10am" -- as the line to purchase was already well established. It's like saying Best Buy opens at 7am for the Black Friday deals.
  21. Now that CGC's stance has been established, I can't wait to come back in an hour and see where this thread goes.
