  1. I think not assigning some grade or at least calling out defects will lead to more returns. As said, scans don’t tell the whole story (nor do fuzzy pictures) which has bidders assuming or hoping for grade X and returning or asking for a partial refund when the comic is in hand and doesn’t align with assumptions.
  2. Is there a quick list of post-St John covers Baker did?
  3. Lol. I meant not also a Baker cover. If GCD is correct, two interior stories.
  4. His screen grading looks ok most of the time. No idea about books in hand though. Though I don't know if it can be dis/proven, looking at the Golden Age items today on eBay, it appears as if some grades have been modified.
  5. Did you get that #10 graded?
  6. Is there a graded Voodoo showing up eventually?
  7. I get the perspective but it still doesn’t feel right. Maybe it’s the coloring.
  8. I hate to say this, as I am a Hughes fan, but to me, that neck is way too long.
  9. Good luck; I entered these waters about a year and a half ago.
  10. no they add up.... I'm sorry you dont believe me... I ask the same question because 2 years ago I didnt get any answers...Instead I got bombarded with "Post pictures or get out".... when I finally posted the pics everyone seemed to go away and not give me any answers... plus 2 years ago, I had no interest in selling, I only wanted to find the best way to get my collection appraised. Now I'm actually wanted to sell some comics... All right, well without going through every single every post, here are some "don't add up" lines to me: 1. "plus 2 years ago, I had no interest in selling" --> June 24, 2017 (not 2 years ago, but a year and a half): https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/417586-question-about-selling-comics/ 2. The number of boxes keeps changing --> Jan 30, 2017 90 boxes, almost all Silver Age: https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/409371-question-about-production-flaws-in-comics/ --> Feb 2, 2017 50-70 boxes, 25 of which are Marvel + DC combined: https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/409604-question-for-regulars-and-collectors/ --> Dec 1, 2018 up to 175 boxes: https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/443234-best-way-to-find-buyers-that/?do=findComment&comment=10469755 3. The pictures show several posters on the walls, along with not being a comic collector -- or maybe you just got into it in the last 3 years when you started going through the collection -- the posters are older than three years and would have to have been put up before the boxes and shelving.
  11. Many of these dates and numbers you've provided, at length, don't add up to me. It may be the case you are estimating or rounding, but I don't know. In any case, you've started multiple threads over multiple years asking the same question; you should have your answer by now.
  12. I was disappointed I was too cheap and missed out on the Contact 12. Then this happened a couple days later; it was meant to be as I could only afford one of the two.
  13. Yep, it's one of Cole's. Is the other one you are thinking of Spook #30? That cover is a swipe of a Disbrow interior. There's a pic of it in the golden age splash pages thread. I was able to look more closely at the Horrors cover at home and now see Cole's signature on the left-hand side.
  14. Yep, it's one of Cole's. Is the other one you are thinking of Spook #30? That cover is a swipe of a Disbrow interior. There's a pic of it in the golden age splash pages thread. Bingo - Spook 30 it is. So Cole did that cover but it's a swipe of Disbrow? If so, counts as cover or no? Lastly, if you have any undercopies lying around...
  15. This is definitively a Cole cover, then? I've always wondered about this one (and another I can't seem to find right now that appears to be credited to Disbrow).
  16. . Just paid last night for a $300 item in order to get the 10% eBay bucks in time. Now I have to buy something else.
  17. He didn't realize he was selling you a $200+ book? Heck. It has been a $50+ book for a long while. This was several months ago, so not a $200+ book but definitely over $100. He said he stopped doing you-pick-em sales because people just picked out the keys and left the carp. That’s when I reminded him I was a repeat buyer and he let me pick what I wanted — as long as it was at least 25 comics. My previous purchase from him was a run of Elephantmen with Campbell covers, so that was pretty good, too.
