  1. Sorry for the crappy pictures but my scanner cant scan a whole image of a slab so I used my phone.
  2. Received at CGC 3/21/13 Sitting in Quality Control as of 4/30/13 Paid for Value Fast Track.... 20 days was the turnaround time... I know for a fact there are others who posted on this board that sent theirs in after me and have them back or are on their way back..seems like theres no method to the madness or certain people may have priority over others who pay for fast track service. Its making me highly consider not grading. First time sending books for grades and its been a horrible experience with the wait. Why did I pay extra?
  3. In response to the Zombizzy post - I am currently in talks with him now, but yes as someone pointed out, its only AFTER I made this post and another post on the general discussion page about him that I heard anything back. I'd be happy to post the history of our convo and the dates of each PM that I sent and you will see how many PM's I made with no response. Funny how someone else had an issue with you as well until I made the post. I still wonder why you were able to interact with other boardies and when I PM'd you several times since March you could never return my PM's? I assure you that I am not one to try to pull some kind of scam on here, If anyone else would like my scans and compare them to Zombizzys scans Id love to provide them for you. I have nothing to hide here and am offering to return the books for a full refund. I understand the concern of why someone would say the books were switched out and honestly I don't know how to prove that they weren't, the books have no bends or creases and are in good condition, these white nicks in the spine had to be there before the books were shipped, if it was shipping damage I would have seen the bags bent/dented/ripped etc, but I saw no signs of that.
  4. CGC received my books Value Fast Track on 3/21/13. I called them this morning to see an estimate on how much longer it would be until they shipped back. They said about 2 more weeks and they will ship. Suggestion: On the website it would be nice if they could put an Estimate of how many days/weeks until books ship. The current Verified, Scheduled for Grading, Graded, Shipped is helpful, but I'd be much more interested in an estimated ship time. It seems like they know this information so maybe it can be incorporated to the website as well.
  5. +1 I agree 100% with Dave on this. It seems like this place is becoming a magnet for scam artists and deadbeats. I personally don't deal with anyone that I don't know or has a good track record on here, and actually cares about this community. +2 I'm fairly new myself and I can say just as little as January I felt very comfortable purchasing from people on here, but i'm running into more and more people posting looking to sell or buy with less than 20 posts. I have an idea of who the trusted sellers are but I think this is a great idea, minimum posts with minimum time as part of the boards, or a certain amount of activity EACH MONTH to continue to buy or sell.
  6. How do I nominate someone to be put on the HOS list? Does sending a book not in the condition advertised warrant this? The person will not respond to my messages either but I see him interacting on the msg boards with other members. Its been almost a month and I have PM'd him several times with no response. Boardie is Zombizzy
  7. It doesn't matter - that "other" grading company is a scam. People who slab & sell PGX books prey on the ignorance of their buyers, on them not being aware that the "company" (and I'm using that term loosely) is a couple of dudes in a garage grading and slabbing books they purchased themselves and will later resell on eBay. What they're doing is borderline criminal and anyone who knowingly supports their activities is a grade-a scumbag. At least their turn around rate is quicker
  8. Uh... wut? No matter how slow, PGX cannot look better than CGC... For TNITK - CGC= professional company out of Sarasota, FL PGX= fly-by-night "company" out of some guys' moms garage. Seriously. -slym my statement of PGX was more of a joke, I used it as a display of my aggravation of the grading process
  9. Books submitted to modern FT: Received 3/28 Verified 4/1 4/6-- Status unchanged and still at verified. Going on seven biz days. 4/9 -- Status unchanged and still at verified. Going on nine biz days. 4/10 -- Status updated-- scheduled for grading. 10 biz days 4/12 Status updated -- GRADED. 12 biz days Another status update-- Quality Control! Look at you, CGC! You're flying! You're still two days late. 4/15-- Still at QC. 13 biz days. PGX lookin better and better...this *spoons* me off. They received mine before yours how are mine still sitting at Verified? and I did fast track
  10. Still Sitting at "Verified" as of 4-12-13 Its really aggravating that I see people have got their books back shipping them to CGC AFTER I did, and mine are STILL sitting at "VERIFIED" Would calling CGC get me any answers or is it a waste? I did Value Fast Track no prescreen.
  11. Still Sitting at "Verified" as of 4-12-13
  12. This is simply the start of the next big creator owned collection to be auctioned off in 2055 Dallas, TX -- Heritage Comics Auctions (HCA) is very proud to announce that they have been chosen to offer at auction the personal collection of Stan Lee, creator and writer of Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, the Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, the X-Men and many, many more world-famous comics characters. “I’m deliriously excited about this,” said John Petty, director of HCA. “For many of us growing up during the 1960’s and ‘70’s, Stan Lee was comics. I’m thrilled that not only are we able to offer this historically important collection, but even more so, that Stan has put such an incredible amount of trust in us.” Highlights of the collection, which is to be introduced at HCA’s July Signature Auction at WizardWorld 2002 in Chicago, include Lee’s personal file copies of such landmark books as Fantastic Four #1, Amazing Fantasy #15 (the origin and first appearance of Spider-Man), Amazing Spider-Man #1, X-Men #1, Avengers #1, The Incredible Hulk #1, Daredevil #1, and many more. The comics will all be submitted to Comics Guaranty LLC (CGC) for grading and will bear the label, “Stan Lee file copy”. "These comics are my personal copies, the ones I've read and referred to over the years," said Stan Lee. "They may not be in mint condition but I love each one because they represent the highlights of my career to me and I've enjoyed thumbing through them time and again. In fact, they're the only copies of these key books that I've saved and treasured. I've been waiting for just the right opportunity to release these books to collectors all over the world, and Heritage is absolutely the right company to do that for me." Additionally, Stan has released a handful of original art from the Amazing Spider-Man syndicated newspaper comic strip to be included in the July auction. Artists include such industry legends as Joe Sinnot, Paul Ryan, Alex Saviuk and Larry Lieber. Fortunately there is still time to get your consignments in for Heritage’s sure-to-be-legendary July Signature Sale. The published deadline is May 10, but earlier is better, because space is limited and filling fast. Also the sooner Heritage receives your items, the sooner they can begin promoting them as part of their first-ever Wizard World auction. Prospective consignors are invited to call John Petty or Jeff Smith at 214-252-4392 to discuss consigning rare comics and original art. Or if you have classic movie posters, call their movie expert Grey Smith at 1-214-668-6928. Or visit www.HeritageComics.com and click on the “consign” tab. Or simply email JPetty@HeritageComics.com or GreySm@HeritageComics.com. Prospective bidders may pre-order the sale catalog now for $25 (or Heritage’s next 3 Signature catalogs for $50), fully refundable with any successful purchase in the auction. Visit www.HeritageComics.com, email your name, address & credit card info to Auctions@HeritageComics.com or phone 214-242-4242 (24-hour voicemail - simply leave your address & credit card info) to order by credit card, or mail a check to: Heritage Comics Catalog Offer, 100 Highland Park Village, 2nd Floor, Dallas, TX 75205 holy balls
  13. Here is what I got today from shipment purchased from a boardie... Books weren't packaged horribly but it could have been better they are worse if you see them in person. I have reached out to the seller to hope that we can work something out. I also received a book from ebay today that was packaged so horribly that I can't believe it wasn't damaged. I encourage everyone to read this thread if your going to sell. Wrap them around a bag, use bubble wrap, put cardboard around them, and put them in a box. How hard is it!
