Some might feel that a buyer who pitches a fit because a seller won't refund him the full purchase price and let him keep the book a tad "shady". care to elaborate? Ill elaborate for you I had nomiated zombizzy to the PL for not honoring a requested refund on a book and it was let go for months, he came back, gave another boardie in the same situation a full refund and allowed to keep the book. so i simply asked for the same thing in a mocking sort of way even though all I wanted was a full refund for returning the book. We ended up after a few more weeks me sending the book back for a full refund.

My memory is for spoon, but it was discussed a ton a while ago. Do a search in CG and I'm sure you'll find it. It was a huge deal for a while around here. I have no idea if they still do it, or to what extent they did it in the past. It's completely legal in TX (where Heritage is based), so I'm assuming they're still doing it :shrug: This is serious and was discussed at length before? They really DO shill their auctions?! I feel like I've bought so many books via their Sunday auctions! Its ok though man, they give good deals sometimes so its all good

Why? It's starting to look like the beginning of the end of the PL. Why? Try posting that someone is on the list in their sales thread. The list is no longer supported by CGC. I guess it's a good resource for anyone interested in looking. The boardies who support the list are a clear minority. It would surprise me if the thread went poof at some point. Not sure if I missed something, does that mean if you post the list in someones sales thread the mods will strike you?

When your buying/selling to a small group of people where you have a chance to get to know someone, you actually ARE held more closely to moral and ethical standards because your under the spotlight more than some big corporation. I don't interact and talk back and forth with the corporate heads of a walmart, or a best buy, but I do interact with people on this board. I expect to be held to a high moral and ethical standard amongst this group and so should everyone else on these boards. "oh i didnt know shilling was bad im a n00b" - Nobody should ever accept that as a pass for a seller on these boards. AGAIN, it still amazes me that there are people out there that will try to make or find an excuse for being passive on the types of behaviors that so blatantly stick out on these boards where someone is trying to screw people over, but yet people want a GREAT deal so bad they will still do business knowing that this person is ETHICALLY AND MORALLY WRONG. If someone gets burned for buying from someone, who they know has been on the PL/HOS I have no sympathy for them, and they actually deserve to get publicly ridiculed themselves.

Can I ask on what basis you assume that a "no" vote equals support for scammers? You're just kidding, right? Not kidding Who wouldn't want to try to make the boards a better/safer place for sales by implementing some tighter rules with all the NOOB sellers/buyers around here in the past few months who can't take the time to read the rules of the forums, or try to scam someone out of money. Maybe giving a grace period to these new people will allow for the proper time to learn some board etiquette before buying/selling? Also, adding a waiting period for new sellers who are trying to scam may eventually drive them away from here because they don't want to wait weeks to be able to sell since they are looking for the quick $$$ from those people who are caught off guard. It also forces them to interact on the boards by having a post count and gives the rest of the community a chance to get a feel of who the boardie is before deciding to buy from them when they have 1 post. So having a different opinion means I support scammers? How about looking at it this way. Someone who BUYS from someone with 1 post might be supporting a scammer. Someone who posts with one post might be an honest seller. Someone who buys with one post without spending time to check out the boards might be a gambler. You can change the "one" to "200" if it helps you. Someone who reacts to how others vote with such a strong reaction might be over-reacting a tiny bit? I'll stand by my first suggestion last night. We should not allow anyone to post until they have been here for 2 years. Makes as much sense as some of this other stuff, and it's MUCH more likely to protect new people from their own enthusiasm. (yes, I'm joking about the 2 years, but think about the consequences;) Let me clear this up, No I don't think everyone supports scammers who voted no, it was more of a smart way of saying that it comes across to me like 40% of people don't think there is a problem in the sales forums. I know I've been deterred from selling or buying from a lot of people because of the increase in sketchy sales threads on here in the past few months.
