  1. I have a modded Xbox with over 40000 games it works great I'd sell it if someone was interested
  2. Somehow you've managed to miss the point completely. It isn't the traditional Lois Lane & Clark/Superman dynamic that creates an atmosphere of sexism. Heck, even in the 50's TV series Phyllis Coates could be seen acting decisively at personal risk and not calling out for Superman's help when she got into trouble. Saving Lois isn't the issue. I suppose given the modern rebooting of the characters it SHOULD be an issue in keeping with the realistic dystopian world because retaining the traditional dynamic when Superman is so radically reenvisioned could be viewed as sexism, but I digress. The real issue based on MoS (which is the stencil on which BvS was written and filmed) is that attractive females cast as professional women are either depicted as vapid sexpots or solely dependent upon their male counterparts. Forget Martha Kent for a moment as she symbolizes something entirely different (think along the lines of Yoda from Star Wars or any other mentoring figure). One nauseating example toward the end of MoS was the very attractive female staff officer who commented that Superman was hot to her commanding officer. Nothing humorous about that, it was sexist and unprofessional. If you don't like the word sexism how would you describe the diminutive role iconography of women in Zack's Superman films? There's gotta be something better or more constructive to do than to get your panties in a bunch about sexism in comic book movies ... So sexism isn't important? Not that I agree with charges of rampant sexism...it all seems to be part of the current trend to be offended by everything...but there were characters that were underused in BvS and they happened to be female. However, your comment appears to be somewhat sexist? I could pick out any random movie and point out where female characters were underused, doesn't mean it was a sexist movie. as for my somewhat sexist comment, it definitely was!

  4. Just got back from seeing it with some friends. Theater was about half full 7pm on Easter Sunday. What I liked: The movie was definitely not as bad as people are making this out to be. How can you be a comic fan and say that you HATE movies that are being brought to life for us to enjoy on the big screen? Last half of the movie! - Entertaining and got more into the comic book feel Without spoiling it the way certain people were introduced briefly to set up for JLA Affleck as Batman was fine no complaints Wonderwoman was cool What could of been better: First half of the movie was too drawn out. Some of it was just pointless and made for some boring parts. Could of been about 30 minutes less to have it flow better I think Lex Luthor - Not as bad as I was imagining, but still annoyed me The way batman and superman ended their fight scene was just too quick and sudden for me They should of left Doomsday out of the previews would of been a huge surprise for everyone in the movie if they did that I think Overall I said I'd give it a B- My wife enjoyed it but agreed with me on cutting it down some. There were a group of about 4 people that walked out halfway through the movie which was disappointing because I felt they missed the best parts of the movie.
  5. always tragic to hear of the passing of a boardie even though I may not know them personally. condolences to the family
  6. Just saw the movie with my fiancé and it wasn't bad. She enjoyed it, I thought it was good but not great. I think all the actors did a great job in their roles. Most of the special effects were really well done also. Movie started a little slow but when we finally get to see him use the costume that's when it started to pick up. I didn't think it was as funny as most of the people are saying I chuckled at maybe 5 parts. Comparing it to GOTG I liked GOTG a lot better. We saw the 7pm show in 3d and there were only 7 people in the theater
  7. Paypal Question: If someone requests that you send to a different address than what is listed in paypal, would I be setting myself up for a possible scam by sending it to the requested address and not the one listed on paypal? Does paypal cover any loss of goods if the shipment isn't to the address listed on the account? Thanks for the advice
  8. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this thread thanks for the time and effort you put in to collect this data.
  9. Last weekend I couldn't make any posts and the pages would only load sometimes. Didn't seem like anyone else was having issues though
  10. A lot of people wanted him on that or the HOS list, but his screw jobs didn't take place in the sales forum area so... lawyers
  11. Bone white to me doesn't seem like it would mean the whitest it can get. In my mind your almost downgrading the book
  12. Is it just me or is it annoying when someone uses "bone white" pages to describe page color of a book? What does bone white even mean?
  13. Interrogation . It's a buyers right to ask questions before a purchase. The seller doesn't have to answer any questions they don't want, and in return the buyer doesn't have to buy. There should be no problem answering any and all questions as a seller though
  14. Alright then, made heavy arguments against HOS. I stand corrected but can't say I'm surprised to see what's going on
  15. Funny the guy involved in a discussion about sales manipulation was one of the big guns sticking up for hustruck/cgcboy.
  16. Board memories are often faulty, when they work, it's usually an exaggerated version of the truth...someone said something, someone repeats it & then it quickly becomes truth. What does the following statement mean to you? You responded to it indirectly while quoting it here This guy has had a shady history almost since day 1. He's been nominated for the PL more than once ( please correct me if I'm wrong ). Someone made a lazy damning statement saying "he's been nominated for the PL more than once" then asked others to fact check him. So...has he ever been nominated to the PL? How many times? By who? Was it addressed? Was it successful (ie - added) The answer is clearly - who cares for most people. Minutes later, this exchange at the end of a larger string. Now with urgency... Agreed. That is the lynch mob mentality in action, since we're talking about patterns. Some people just don't care about the truth when a clearly shady guy is on the path to HOS. If people aren't going to fact check themselves & those agreeing with him don't care about the truth - the intent of the list is for it to remain respected by as many in the community as possible. An HOS full of bad dad & racist joke tellers will still get service here. Your right there's nothing shady about Hustruck/Cgcboy. And I have my facts hes been involved with the PL/HOS more than once deeming him a problem
  17. To protect people. I've never had a problem with you, as a matter of fact, I enjoy your "passionate viewpoint"...but when you started, you were a little more forceful than some others. What if a few old timers, louder new timers just didn't like you? Some of us, don't want anything that goes into a list like the Hall of Shame or probation thread to be personality based. I don't have a long list of people I don't like here, it's extremely short, almost non existent , but if someone started a poll to put that person or persons in the Hall of Shame solely because they are irritating I'd be speaking out against it. I might later, but these lists cannot be based on personality...nor gender, nor skin color, nor any of those other ridiculous things. If there are no facts backing up the nomination the lists would be extremely long. We have had a few discussions and I've enjoyed them and sharing viewpoints. I appreciate everyone's viewpoint on here. When I first came around I was passionate about someone trying to scam me out of money and I probably sounded very similar then as I do now. It's just something I can't tolerate personally. I hear you on hard facts needing to be present to be nominated for PL/HOS and I feel we have some very hard evidence that fraud was trying to be pulled. Fortunately nobody got screwed out of money this time. At least I didn't change my screenname when I first came here and got called out for being too aggressive with my views and practices
  18. Here's the great thing about being able to sell on these boards. We can see patterns of bad behavior and take care of it before it becomes a problem. In many other sales platforms they don't have that luxury. Why is it that we have to be so strict as to who can and can't be called out and shunned for trying to rip off people in this small community? Why must we have to WAIT until someone gets truly ripped off until we deem someone a problem?
  19. But why put up with people like that? It makes it seem like his only crime was getting caught. Nobody should put up with it. I'm just basing my decision on the HOS process as it is now. Pages upon pages of all this back and forth shows that it is flawed. I personally believe that his transgression was worse than the Red Rocks incident. Hustruck openly tried to deceive the community whereas Red Rocks' crime was flipping. I think polls should be open instead of hidden as well (board ids) - this would help stop any favoritism. I disagree completely...and this is why I really was unhappy when the poll was pulled. Stuff like that should not happen. EVERYONE is entitled to an opinion. If the poll got pulled because a few people spoke up about it, won't that influence voting, too? Talking should take place before and after and the polls should be blind, no one should see the results till it's too late to influence people...and I firmly believe they should be in CG, not here. There are a lot more members than just the people who post on this thread. With all due respect, why isnt CGCboy/Hustruck in the HOS and why isn't there a poll back up? I saw a majority vote heavily in favor of having him in the HOS?
