  1. No question about it. Not that it needed anything "extra," but it is also kinda cool that 40 years give or take later there's a cool movie where Brad Pitt utters the infamous lines, "C'mon man. What's in the booooxxxxx??"
  2. Guess it depends on ones definition of horror. Personally, although I don't deny the heavy horror elements in it, I do not think of it as a "traditional" horror book.
  3. Awesome!!! What a great score! Wish I had one, too!
  4. Very close - 61 pre-code issues. The longest pre-code horror title there was.
  5. Well, here it is, my last AIU (for now, I've a new score on the way!). Reeks of post-code, doesn't it??
  6. Kinda looks like it may have been better suited for FORBIDDEN WORLDS, but the mountains sure look sweet...
  7. Yeah, I hope to have it finished by the end of this year.
  8. I've got a couple that I still need to scan and post. I am looking for 12 more to finish the 61 issue run. Thought I was down to just 10, but I noticed I had made a record keeping error!
  9. ... and I will try to see if I can dredge it up, but I seem to recall some B&W pics of Lux & Ivy in what looked like a record store/comic shop, but turns out it was a room in their house! Gotta find it...
  10. Yes he was, as well as a serious vinyl collector. I'm betting if he collected EC's, he probably had other pre-code horror, too.
  11. OT here. Shiverbones broke the news earlier in CG, and I'm pretty torn up over this. I don't usually take celeb deaths with any difficulty (especially w/me being a hospice nurse), but this one is bothering me. Lux Interior, singer for the Cramps, has passed away. The reason I want to mention it here is because the Cramps were (I can't believe I'm using past tense) a band that just WALLOWED in 50's culture, especially horror & b-movie camp. So, if you've interest in pre-code horror comics, you may just want to try & give the Cramps a listen if you haven't yet.
  12. I'm with ya! I like the editorial as well. I don't recall any other publishers doing anything like this. Just shows how Gaines' activism was another cutting edge type of thing, that was leading the way.
  13. Does anyone find it somewhat ironic that the front facing book in the other hand is an ACG, when many pre-code collectors still consider the company "tame" in comparison to the "other guys"??
  14. Continue to be chronologically out of order on the AIU's, but here's another one I got to fill the missing gaps. I will get back in chronological order next time, I swear! Anyway, this one is a great ACG cover, yeah!?
  15. And the other book I scored from Kyle! Thanks again, man!! (thumbs u
  16. Thanks to Kyle (Coin Addict) for this one!! A big help in knocking off the last 12 or so issues I need to complete this run... and what a GREAT cover!!! (thumbs u
