  1. Well, I don't want to jinx things because the book isn't in hand yet, but looks like I may have finally finished a run by nabbing an issue that has been eluding me. Won't give away the title/issue just yet...
  2. hhhmmmm... anyone else having trouble with scans loading?
  3. Another one of the "better" late-run covers, wouldn't you agree? Got this one from Beerbohm...
  4. AHA! Here's some much more appropriate strangulation dialogue, IMO.
  5. My logic tells me it would be quite difficult to say more than "gaackk!" with a tentacle around one's throat, but hey what do I know, I'm no comic book editor!!
  6. OK, here's a "ho-hum" cover typical of late-run issues. Let's jazz it up by creating our own dialgoue, shall we??!! Here's my submission: "No...No! You're not a giant panther, you're a... BIG P++++ "
  7. Matthew, the OSPG is so slow to react to both info & true market value (especially downturns ) that I only buy one once every few years, and probably just as much for sentimental reasons rather than strictly a resource.
  8. This is a late run cover that I really like for some reason. The colors are a nice combo, the art is cool, and even the dialogue doesn't get in the way too much.
  9. Now here is a decent example (IMO) of one of the creepy earlier AIU covers, # 11. Just got this one, so I couldn't fit it in chronologically. Bummer is, I broke off a small piece of the LRC trying to squeeze it back into the small bag it came in! I should have known better! You guys know I'm not a condition freak by any means, but that makes even me sick!
  10. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! Here's a later issue from the run that isn't too bad. Would have been better, IMO, with no dialogue & a little more background detail.
  11. Just in time for the cold weather months (in the Mid-West, USA anyway)....
  12. I always thought this one had a certain amount of charm to it...
  13. Yes. The early ones have some really cool stuff. (thumbs u
  14. ...and look at the coffee can, I think it is supposed to be "Wrightson" Brand...
  15. Looks like Leatherface is on the wall, too. Of (possible) interest: Wm. Stout worked on Return of the Living Dead, and I thikn Weird Trips (while I don't believe it is the cover in your scan, Jay) is the comic that can be briefly spotted in the movie.
  16. The AIU books are way low on my list of pre-code horror in terms of desirability, art, etc. I used to go out of my way to avoid this "lame" publisher myself, but as I began to try to put a complete AIU pch run together over a year ago, my appreciation for them has grown. Despite an array of bland covers, there are many gems scatterred through the series. If you find time, check back at my posts in this thread over the last few months, the ones with scans are mostly AIU. You might find a few to be pleasantly surprising.
