  1. Obviously you missed my Pressno's thread where the books are lightly spritzed, lighted baked and flattened and then as they are drying along the conveyor belt suddenly drop on the graders desks. How can this not be a conflict when the books are still warm?
  2. Richard, I didn't think there was a book that Doug owned that he didn't think could improve. If the book didn't upgrade than basically every different finalizer was used, CGC standards didn't get loose enough or the different set of graders didn't think it had a shot at 9.8 either.
  3. Almost all of these were owned by Doug. I would venture to say that they were pressed quite a bit. I would venture to say that a lot of time was talking about how these were 9.8's. I guess you have not been schmelled before until you cave so he stops talking.
  4. By the way there are a lot of upgraders doing the happy dance A major competitor has been eliminated with this purchase.
  5. Just a legal warning to the wannabe's but Professional Opinion Services has already been claimed.
  6. Worldwide website has Steve wishing Matt good luck in his new endeavor so I'm assuming that this relationship will be terminating in Feb 2013.
  7. Not sure what is going to happen to Classic's joint business with Worldwide. I'm guessing that this is now terminated?
  8. Is this a treasure also? Don't know how many collectors with logo's.
  9. No reservations baby Let me know how the last food tour goes. And I still want an autographed book
  10. Shouldn't you be posting this? Communication Breakdown, It's always the same, I'm having a nervous breakdown, Drive me insane!
  11. The Heritage 7.5 sale price was like handing the buyer money. I've sold 7.0's for more than the 7.5 sold for.
  12. Yup, they are always ugly when you don't own it.
  13. My asking price on your 7.5 was $25K Our deal was cash/trade. I was happy with the deal we did.
  14. Terrible scan? My scanner tends to blow up the white's a bit. I don't really like screwing around with the settings a lot because then it screws up the front covers.
  15. Yuck, and it's got writing on the cover to.
  16. Well if you had won the book I'm sure I could have bought it for $36,750.
  17. With a lot of theft occurring at shows I am not a big fan of open booth to the back wall designs. Too many books disappear. Asking to come back to look is generally respectful as far as I'm concerned. Some get offended if I don't let them back to look. If I know someone a long time and have seen them handle books I really don't mind them taking a book out. However, I have witnessed some very brutal book handling at my booth and if you just so happened to be walking by at the time you would be witnessing a "Bad bob" moment. I can understand kids being a little rough but frankly am not sure why adults feel it's necessary to bend my books back so that they can see what they are looking at. Or if they can't put the book back into the box they feel compelled to stuff it in. I have witnessed some books falling off my shelf from a helper I know very well. Needless to say the slow motion reactions from others around him were priceless and thankfully no book was damaged. That's why it pays to have a bigger board around your books in case of things like this. Dent the board, not the book (Remember, Hotflips has you covered )
