  1. You've been about getting a scanner for at least 6 months now. i know.... and i just went to Best Buy last weekend.... i never equate scanner with Best Buy until after I get home.... but on another note...I bought a Nintendo Wii U its great my daughter lets me play Mario Bros
  2. your webpage looks great Tim. (thumbs u Maybe by summer I will look into a scanner to make a page in the fall.
  3. cool Curt Swan and Neal Adams: Does it get any better than that? Don't answer that question!

  6. The first copy is a newsstand edition. The second copy is direct edition and a 2nd print. I picked up 25 sets of the Carnage Part 1-3 when i t first came out at my local shop a good little investment of $93.75 my mum was not amused
  7. "Reprints" the case the people make are these prints are the first introductions of these stories so to them they are original editions in a different language. That's all fine & well but still doesn't change the fact that the correct term would be foreign language reprints. I was born in Denmark and read Danish reprints of American comics growing up - that those reprints were my first introduction to a lot of the Marvel characters doesn't mean that they're suddenly "original editions". You make good points. Denmark is in my top 5 of favorite foreigns. The foreign community has chosen to label them as editions to avoid being categorized with American reprintings. A great place I'm sure you might know for Danish books is Pegasus. A bloke at Pegasus found me a nice Neal Adams Action 419. A very well off country
  8. "Reprints" the case the people make are these prints are the first introductions of these stories so to them they are original editions in a different language. Basically we call them "reprints" as Americans and owners of the originals. Having most of all the silver-coppers i ever wanted, it is a new way to chase the same great artwork of Infantino, Kirby, and Neal Adams I have $1000 cash burning a hole in my pocket to anyone for aussie Bats 227 in any grade This is not a WTB thread. -slym Sorry I did not mean it as a WTB.

  10. say what? Say where? What it is, what it was, what it never will be
  11. most of the dealers i ask at the California shows dont even know there were 2nd-5th printings. I found the top 3 copies for 50 cent bin, $1 bin, and $1 bin. They are out there floating around. don't forget this one, I KNOW did you pick your up for cheap? i am still searching nonchalantly for 3rd-5th prints.... as a kid my MOS18 was pulled and picked up on a Thursday back in Houston. I never knew back then their were 2-5th prints. I rarely went into my local comic shop as they pulled all my weekly books for pickup... There is a pretty rare Warsaw Edition printed in Poland im trying find but getting anything out that country is proving difficult

  13. Does anyone know if there is a specific issue (golden thru copper) that Superman gave batman Kryptonite just in case he needed it one day to stop him? Superman did give him a kryptonite ring to hold in this case in Action Comics #654 in 1990. I was curious if there were any pre-crisis and any other post-crisis times.....
  14. there is nothing i can say that you wont respond like this. I'm staying out of the way of the convos as well
  15. This is one thing I can agree with. Like MikeNYC also mentioned - kneejerk reactions to include people and then polls to remove them are not good for the overall long-term effectiveness of the PL/HOS. I'm staying out of the way of the convos, just wanted to give my Apparently being on the HoS meant nothing anyway as he recently bragged about completing several transactions since being placed on it Thanks Dr Balls! I was not gonna stay out of trading due to being put on HOS. If it were truly effective no one would do any deals. Some people value my books more than the list to care about upholding it... I dont want to cause any troubles with anyone I hope everyone will do the same
  16. People voted in a the heat of the moment and that is also why Menace was voted in so quickly as well... I was right in the thick of it. I have already made a public group apology i cannot make personal ones to each and every person who DK my offer of apology. i dont want to thread pages after endless pages of fighting anyone. Hope you guys are great!
  17. Besides the Joker, Ras is the coolest Bat villain. It's about time Ras Al Ghul started to rise in value. I regret walking away from the CLink auction last year when the 9.4 went for $550. I have a 227 in 9.4 and would like a matching 232. Like you, I believe that Ras Al Gul is the best villain after the Joker. One day I will pick it up again. This has long been an underrated BA key. It is the most important Batbook post-1970 and if not for the high supply would have run up higher already. It is interesting - a few years back you could pick up VF or better copies of any Adams Batbooks readily. Now the supply is fairly dry. Not only is it rare and very sought out with low print runs but even more on an exponential level of the foreign versions. They are reprints of the original but only one person in the whole forum has the Australian version. My 2 year long $1000 offers cannot even be met due to the scarcity of such a gem... It is a worldwide desired book, not many books have that level of demand....
  18. MikeNYC, This is what i argued. I will take my scarlet letter but it really dilutes the effectiveness of the HOS. I stole and took no money. The lynchmob jumped all over therefore the sheeps and peeps followed with a vote. i made a effort apologize with some saying it wasnt good enough so i cant really do anything else about it. People knowingly are doing trades with me so the HOS is a little diluted with the trigger happy mob. Again, ill take my lumps and will stick to the forum rules while a few troll me with attempts to further shame me.
  19. this new cancer is on top of his agent orange exposure and past 4 major operations. im no expert on it and not making any light of it. He does to make light of the depression. Best dad ever calls me every other day wants to know all the books I get in the mail. He paid $65 in 1987 for 6.5-7.5 grade ASM129. My mom an eggroll when we got home. the good times! And the sad part of this "heart-touching" story is, with all the other lies and bull you've spread around here, very few people are going to believe a word of it. You make a good point. Believe what you like, Im not running for office im collecting books and sharing stories...
  20. to Everyone, I will take all that was said into account. Much thanks to Hado and the others for all the valued opinions.
  21. Only ONE person said "Why are you here" with his post. So let's not go overboard and make it sound like everyone told him to hit the road. It is HOW he came on today that again showed he had no remorse. Dude relax, take a deep breath in and then out..... I am not defending what he posted, and if you read some of the posts you will see that it is more than one person....... You have been his worst critic and your real dislike for SC1 is really evident. I also think he did have remorse in his apology. Tip: When you're considering posting sarcastic little digs like that, give it a minute, then don't. They never win you any friends, nor do they help to get your point across. His worst critic?! I hate to say it, but there were other folks that tore into his "apology" today while I just pointed out his posts while explaining to Hado why this was too soon. If that is being a critic, then I'll wear that badge. There were a number of us able to talk through this without attacking one another. Solarcadet coming along during that time didn't disrupt this approach, and everyone kept it calm and respectful. Meanwhile, I gained a new respect for Hado from today's discussions. Thanks Bosco, Lets all just try to get along i dont want to make any new beef with anyone. Hado is nicest boardie I ever met outside of my foreign boardies....
