yeah it means nothing. the link said he played starlords dad- I think that info may have been out there. the real question is who IS starlords dad in the movie? starhawk? whats his secret?

 

And THAT is what I am excited to find out (hopefully) in the movie, and not beforehand!

Not sure I like this trailer. Too "fetish-y" to me. Expecting the gimp to come out with a whip and when I see this.

 

That seems to be a VERY specific expectation.

I was thinking the same thing. I didn't see that when I watched the teaser but then again, maybe I'm just S&M challenged.

Spirit of vengeance was my least favorite SH movie ever... Pixels was also rated higher than FF... So yeah... Sandler for the win-ish.

I gotta ask, why is Ultimate FF a modern retelling of the story? Because Josh Trank says it is? As far as I can tell that heaping pile of garbage was cancelled in 2009. The main universe FF was still being printed in 2015 - and the recent writing has been excellent (and very modern).

 

If you read that original announcement article, that was posted as John Trank was being hired. So if anyone was saying it was based on the Ultimate Fantastic Four, it would be Simon Kinberg (original screenplay writer). He has a few credits under his belt now, past and future.

Yeah, but assuming Bryan Singer is going to put out a loser at this point when it comes to the villain. He's got a lot riding on this now if he is being lined up to lead the next Fantastic Four flowing into an X-Men/F4 crossover.

 

I have to say that I'm bailing on this until I see something different. This blows.

What the heck is going on with doom's techno skin again. That's so bizarre. Not being an ultimates fan, I don't know. Was it like that in the ultimates or is this some dumbarse Fox version of Doom again?

Sure. I get it... But this is the CEO - comments seem very unprofessional. Just an outsiders perspective. I also see this "declared war" as a pretty stupid invitation to thousands of kids with nothing better to do than play cyber war.

 

 

Wow. That's night and day. I had seen the comparison chart, but seeing an actual photo blows me away. The 1/4 are waaaay bigger.

 

My gut has always leaned toward the 1/4 scale, even though there seem to be fewer offerings, they cost more, and they take up more space. But man oh man, those must look frickin' amazing in person.

 

The above is a bad picture, but even the best photos I've seen of pieces I have from people with professional level cameras and picture-taking ability don't capture what I see in front of me. You'll hear "this looks way better in person" over and over, but it's absolutely true.

 

I've been buying statues since around 2002, and had tons of 1/6 scale, and I would recommend 1/4 without question. Less is more with these things. As far as there being fewer offerings, this is changing. 1/4 is basically an industry standard at this point, and more are always coming. That's part of the fun of the hobby for me; anticipating what's next, especially this time of year, since SDCC always brings with it new reveals.

I'm currently debating the Hot Toys Fett vs. the Premium Format Fett. Both look great. I like the idea of being able to post the HT version, but I'm worried that A) I won't be able to get it just right or B) it'll look like a toy with articulation points.

 

Regardless, I'm sure I'll have my first by Christmas.

It's interesting you say this. I am NOT a toy guy but I do have several HTs. I really don't mind the articulation points in this case. Even the Hulk which has brutal articulation has grown on me. I've come to a point where I look at comics as a throwback hobby that remind me of being a kid so why not... If you're the kind of person that wants a sophisticated hobby, staues are probably your thing. I'm only 42 so there's time for me to mature yet.

Great big body, little bitty legs... Thing is brutal.
