  1. You mentioned earlier that the published cover art exists in a collection. Maybe that owner desired this early version as a companion piece and got into a bid contest with another collector who knew this was their only chance at an unpublished version. Batman, Two-Face, the error, Garcia-Lopez, plenty to like about it. David
  2. Check them out at my ebay seller name bakeralbright since 1998. Andy Lee Sally painting SOLD Thank you! Andy Lee Linus painting added. Start $20, BIN $50. SOLD my items (17 items) Best, David S. Albright Send me any questions or comments in the thread or personal message. BIN $225 per comic strip, make offer optional. Bugs is Heimdahl/Stoffel. Dickie Dare is Coulton Waugh.
  3. Funny! It's been years since I got a catalog. I still appreciate the comprehensive online catalog, though! I throw in bids here and there, and they do a nice job of curating your collection for you. Tracking, bids, wins, etc. Best, David
  4. Just a note to relay that the link goes to ALL (14) of my items, so some are fixed-price "buy it now" listings. The eight books in the picture are auction listings, and if the opening bid is not met, they may become future fixed-price listings. Thank you for checking them out! Questions, comments are always welcome, PM or in the thread. David S. Albright
  5. I just started eight more raw vintage books from my 30+ year old collection! Check them out! Seller name bakeralbright on ebay since 1998. Always happy to receive questions or comments! Best wishes, David S. 6. THING 12 transformation page Wilson (?) Sinnott 1984. Click to embiggen. Thanks to partner Julie (Happy Birthday!) for the pic. Best, David S. Albright
  7. This is what happens on most auction formats that allow early bidding, not limited to HA. Live Auctioneers will just take your bid, no attempt at proxy. Ebay proxies, but the shill factor is strong. Not familiar with CLINK or CCONNECT. David
  8. You could make a hi-resolution scan of the art and make a personal copy to see if you like living with it, apart from the book. This you could display for friends and family, while keeping the book intact. Mark it clearly on the reverse as a reference print for personal use, not resale. Best, David
  9. Put up a pic just for fun! I visited Boca Raton a few times when my father-in-law had a condo there. Nice town. David
  10. I use our upright piano as a display easel for things for sale or display. Here I show a sample picture from 2019. The stuff is likely long gone. It's an example of furniture display. Click to enlarge. David
  11. That's a mistake. Unfortunate. I'm guessing the buyer knew what they were getting, though, with that result. $840.00. Looking to see about my McWilliamson strips in my collection! Best, David S. Albright
  12. My experience has been... Establish a contact person in your field through email with an image and brief description to determine if they are interested. They may want to pump you for your better pieces, if you have them, so prepare your decision beforehand. Send the piece(s) however they recommend. Low end weekly auction consignments might be accepted through regular mail, but high end is different. Stay in touch with your contact person. Watch and enjoy the live auction! David
  13. I find their descriptions generally strike a nice balance between too vague and too flowery. They don't knock themselves out for intimate background information, I suppose there is too much to do, but they are responsive to corrections or additions to the description. As a consignor, you may want to research your submission as thoroughly as you can to help them. I once deciphered a frontisplate author's dedication which may have helped my auction result. As a buyer, you may benefit from additional diligence as has been noted. It is surprising that details remain hidden on comics information after all these years of research! That right-click image search is a beautiful thing. Best, David S. Albright
  14. Yeah, it only took a quarter, and you could play forever, and leave games for the next player. My game was Flip-Flop. Upton's, Burlington, Vermont, USA Best, David
  15. My ebay seller name is bakeralbright since 1998. One day left! These books should be live by this evening. are live, auction ending Sunday June 14, 2020. Spy Smasher ($50) and Zoo Funnies ($20) have met their opening bids and will sell. Spy Smasher and Zoo Funnies sold! Thanks! The other books open bidding at $20, except Comedy Comics starts at $75. The other books will likely return as fixed price bargains. Thank you everyone. Thanks for your interest! And send me any questions or remarks in the thread or send me a personal message. Best,, David S. Albright
  16. Thanks, Bill, I just refreshed my premium membership. Best to all, David S. Albright
  17. I once had a nice Iron Man bronze age cover I thought I had lost. When I relocated my bedroom to the attic to accommodate the ongoing needs of the family, it turned up behind a dresser! Ouch, but I was glad to find it. I think David Gearhart owns it now. David
  18. If I register, will the moderator recognize me with a show of hand? This is where we are going. I will check it out. David
  19. The lettering on the PUBLIC NUISANCE sign doesn't match up. Agree, this should, and will probably get a revised description from Heritage. David
