  1. So that's what my mother and father meant when they talked about oil lamps....
  2. Neither was Josh at C-Link apparently...
  3. No - you have to hang them on the clothesline first so that they can dry. Never bag a wet comic!
  4. love how the seller purports to know that "there are only 4 or 5 of these misprints known to exist" - too funny.
  5. That's something you need to walk away from - right now....
  6. ...and don't forget the quality work in Annuals 1 & 2 ...
  7. I think that you've answered your own question. If he had submitted it for CCA approval then there'd be a stamp on it, assuming of course that CCA hadn't refused approval. But given the content, I think that it's fair to assume that it was never submitted for CCA approval for whatever reasons and hence, no stamp.
  8. Sounds as if you and board members would be better served if you set up your want notifications with the various auction houses and eBay instead of here. Rules is rules.
  9. What a super nice person she was to talk to and work with. She will be greatly missed.
  10. I said a page back that I thought that it looked circa 1964. In fact, before your post above, my thoughts were that it looked circa SM Annual #1 ish. So I think that you're bang on. But then again, my opinion and $8 will get you a cup of coffee at a specialty shop....
  11. Great idea. Please let us know the result. "Added value"? Don't know if that could be quantified. The bottom line is that it wasn't published regardless of the intent.
  12. You would think but you never know. Even if they had wanted to publish it, Marvel might have wanted the CCA stamp...just to keep things on the up and up...
  13. Annoying that there's no photo of the back of the art. I wonder whether the CCA approved it? Judging by the image, I'd guess that it was done in 1964.
  14. Before you possibly waste time and money sending in a reprint/reproduction, I'd suggest posting some photos of your book on this thread and letting some knowledgeable people take a look at it.
  15. Thanks for the reply. I'm not a big volume seller by any stretch - my sale a few days ago was my first in years. I do all my business in US dollars as it is the currency of business in the collectibles world. I guess that I'll open up a US$ account as eBay will not allow payments to go to PayPal.
  16. Thanks! So since my PayPal is in US funds, I guess that I'd be best served to create a US bank account then? Is there a benefit for Canadians to list on eBay.ca as opposed to eBay.com?
  17. Not sure if this is the correct forum but ... 1. I'm Canadian. For the 1st time in years I sold an item. Buyer paid no problem. 2. I listed the item on eBay.com NOT eBay.ca. Amount was < $50 US 3. My eBay acct is in US funds. 4. eBay sent me a notice saying that funds were being held pending receipt of the following: a) Valid ID (Passport # or driver's licence). I provided that. b) Bank account info so that payment could be sent there... and that they would send the funds to the specified bank account once I provided the banking info. QUESTIONS 1. Does eBay not send payments to your PayPal account anymore? 2. If I have a bank account in US funds, will they send the payment in US funds? Thanks in advance for any intel.
  18. According to the story the art was "gifted", so the answer is not "maybe" but "yes". In any case, I doubt there was much unpublished art lying around. The story told was that the art was gifted in 1967. Ditko was gone at this point and Romita had taken over. The art would not have seen publication given this. In any case, Marvel probably kept a Xerox of the page that they could have used, if they had wanted...
  19. Ditko no doubt got paid for it published or not - that's probably all he cared about. "Given away out of spite"? - Stan was known to "gift" art so I would doubt very much that this was the case.
  20. Stan too cheap to give each kid their own page? No Playboy bunny for you Stan! Given the notation about "6'" and the similarity in pose to the released 6' door poster, I wonder whether this ended up being a defacto prelim?
