  1. A huge run of Brave and the Bold's have just gone up on Heritage Auctions. Starts at issue 4 and goes all the way up to issue 85 with just a few issues missing here and there. Various grades but some nice high grades are available. Check it out. Here's a link directly to the auction. 2. “Keep working on a plan. Make no little plans. Make the biggest one you can think of and spend the rest of your life carrying it out.” Harry Truman, 33rd president of the United States.
  3. Boy, these skull covers in the Silver Age are sure hard to find. Here's an offbeat offering.
  4. I guess you could say every Phantom cover has a skull or two or three on it...
  5. Seems like I had more success at weddings. I guess in a way, they are like cosplay.
  6. My original collection from when I was a kid in the mid 60's to mid 70's included these titles with unbroken runs of issues, Amazing Spider-man #63-149 Aquaman 34-45 Avengers 54-140 Batman 199-223 Brave and the Bold 72-103 Conan 1-24 Daredevil 42-70 Defenders 1-28 Fantastic Four 68-150 Flash 172-218 Green Lantern 54-89 Iron Man 4-53 Justice League of America 54-106 Kamandi 1-17 Marvel Team-Up 1-20 Metal Men 20-41 Mister Miracle 1-18 New Gods 1-11 Silver Surfer 1-18 Sub-Mariner 4-37 Superboy 141-166 Superman 199-258 Thor 160-173 and then 200-240 X-Men 53-66 I collected other titles as well like Action Comics, Adventure Comics, Captain America, Detective Comics, Doctor Strange, Forever People, Metamorpho and Nick Fury to name a few, but only picked these titles up sporadically. Some titles like Iron Man and Sub-Mariner I had both issues of #1 but missed issues #2 and #3 and picked up again with issues #4 and continued on. Same with Thor, I had #150 but didn't buy another copy until #158 and then picked up again with #160.
  7. Well, if you or anyone have any under-copies you are willing to donate to a huggable home (like mine), I'd be happy to help out!
  8. Looks like almost the entire length of the spine has had some type of moisture exposure at some point to cause that kind of rippling. As is 4.5.
  9. Flash 151, one of my favorites of the title. The 'shade" effect at the beginning of the story was just so simple and eerie, yet a cool and effective plot device.
  10. Anyone on here go for this Flash #130 that just sold on Heritage Auctions. Went too high for me. One of four 9.4's on the census with none higher. Looks like a real beauty.
  11. From my experience, it's a major key if I want it and a minor key if I'm trying to sell it!
  12. Excellent pick-ups. Congratulations!
  13. Heritage has a few "original art" ads up in their current auction. I thought this was an unusual piece.
  14. I always thought Frank Miller's early work was a sort of hybrid of Gene Colan and Steve Ditko's style.
