  1. I always liked these science info pages too...
  2. If you are not going to carry insurance, at least move the more expensive items like the high value comics to a more secure location (like a safe) after hours. Leaving stuff out in the open, barely secured is only inviting problems.
  3. Found this video of the 1967 Aurora catalog. What memories. https://www.google.com/search?q=1967+aurora+catalog&client=ms-android-verizon-us-rvc3&bih=652&biw=360&hl=en&tbm=vid&sxsrf=APwXEdfPtJVur--uNrirsnYDCwgpm9OD7A%3A1679799393537&ei=YbQfZLOuIJKaptQPmP6EqAQ&oq=1967+aurora+catalog&gs_lcp=ChBtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXZpZGVvEAMyBQghEKABMgUIIRCgAToECCMQJzoICAAQigUQhgM6BQgAEKIEOgUIABCABDoHCCMQ6gIQJzoICAAQigUQkQI6CAgAEIAEELEDOgsIABCKBRCxAxCDAToLCAAQgAQQsQMQgwE6BwgAEIoFEEM6CggAEIAEEBQQhwI6AggTOgYIABAWEB46BQghEKsCOggIIRAWEB4QHVDDCFjbsAFgyNQBaAFwAHgAgAGrAogB1BqSAQcxNS4xNS4xmAEAoAEBqgEQbW9iaWxlLWd3cy12aWRlb7ABBcABAQ&sclient=mobile-gws-video#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:77992398,vid:ZAw7aCqUMqI
  4. I remember putting a few of those "monster hot rods" together back in the 60's and even back then I don't remember seeing a Godzilla Go-Cart anywhere. I think I had Dracula's Dragster, Mummy's Chariot and King Kong's Thronester. Such fun pieces!
  5. This was an ebay purchase and it's actually showing up on GPA and GoCollect now. The last recorded sale of an 8.5 was back in 2018 and this book is showing as sold on Heritage in May of 2011 (It was graded in 2008). It looks very nice and I'm considering having it re-graded as pretty much all the wear is around the edges and corners. It was probably already pressed as I don't see see any kind of bends, dents, etc. It's a toss up on whether to pull the trigger on it or not.
  6. Proud to announce the latest addition to my Flash collection.... love the purple cover and its overall visual aesthetic.
  7. I noticed a lot of those books have a fair amount of tanning and browning around the edges.
  8. I also have this superpower of cracking out at 9.4 Universal label and sending it in for press and clean only to have it come back with a 9.2 Qualified label.
  9. I have the uncanny ability to buy high and sell low!
  10. I always thought Hawkman and Hawkgirl had the coolest costumes, but always seemed to be looked upon as kind of lame as Aquaman was portrayed in the Big Bang Theory.
  11. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/1674457 Found this article that seems to validate my prior question about the Topps Baseball Cards.
  12. I heard a story where Topps loaded a barge with unsold Baseball cards in the early 50’s and had them hauled out and dumped in the Atlantic Ocean. Is this true or another one of those “urban legends”?
  13. Ha, not even close, the earliest one I have is a raw, mid-grade #121.
  14. There are some boardies on here looking for books all the time. I would not be surprised if you get some hits just by what you've posted here already. You could always try putting them up in the sales thread too. Even I might be interested in (some) the pre-200 books, but it sounds like you want to sell them all as a lot all at once.
  15. Well, like everything, depends for the condition. Super-high-grade copies of #323 can go for a few hundred dollars, and #139 is pretty strong in most cases with even mid-grade copies going for several hundred dollars. Are any of them graded or are they all raw?
  16. Just got this small batch in. Pretty nice mid grade copies to help me fill in a few holes in the collection. The 140 looks great from the front but has a tear in the back cover near the spine that goes into a few of the interior pages too.
  17. You can have my comics when you can pry them from my cold, dead hands!
  18. I have pretty much just used ComicConnect and ComicLink over the last decade or so. Results are varied and all over the place, you know how it goes, some books sell for more, some less. Sometimes you get surprised. I've had a few books listed for sale that didn't sell for my asking price and then put them up for auction just to see the final price go above my original asking price, so go figure!
  19. I quit selling on ebay for this very reason. I just consign my books through an auction house and let them handle all the crazies out there. It's really too bad, but even one bad transaction isn't worth all the headaches and time spent trying to resolve it.
  20. Here's my copy of #172. I looked high and low to get a high-grade copy as they are almost impossible to find. I won this one on ComicConnect back in 2014. According to the census, there are only 7 copies graded higher and it may be less than that if some have been re-submitted. There is a single copy graded at 9.6 and none higher. Not an overly pricey book but not many available as the census shows only 65 total in Universal grade.
