  1. Hey all, Picked these up awhile ago, just got the frames today. These are original art for the Donnelley Directory. On acetate. That's all I know. Don't know the timeframe, the artist, or where it was used. Or possible value. Any help is appreciated!
  2. I wasn't into Doctor Who as a kid. It wasn't the Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers scfi I liked. I remember seeing the Baker shows on PBS, but just skipped by them, as it didn't interest me. Then, 2005, and Christopher Eccleston as the Doctor on SciFi Channel. I decided, for whatever reason, to DVR them. I didn't really watch them, just kept recording them. Then, Spring that year, my allergies were KILLING me. I'd wake up every night, can't breathe, get up, wash my face, and take an allergy pill. While waiting for it to kick in, I started watching them. Loved it. Kept watching till the middle of Capaldi. The writing got so atrocious, I couldn't anymore. Haven't watched it since, probably won't. But I still have great memories, and can watch the 9th through 11th Doctors any time I want, so there's that. My whole family was into it during that time. So much so, I built a TARDIS in the backyard. Gone now(damn Mother Nature!) but used it as storage for the pool stuff during the winter for many years. Oh, and David Tenant is may favorite.
  3. Saw it yesterday. Might be my favorite Godzilla movie of all time. Definitely my favorite movie of the year.
  4. Inflation skews revenue, so popularity and use will most likely have decreased.
  5. I don't remember being too involved in that conversation, or siding with anyone?
  6. While Frankenstein has scifi elements to it, it just doesn't "feel" like SciFi. I actually think that a lot about much of what is considered SciFi these days.
  7. The actual real problem, going forward, is credibility. 5 years ago, my faith in Feige et al to make rockin' FF and X-Men movies was high, almost 100%. Now, my expectations are low. And perception becomes reality. The box office proves that.
  8. I wonder how many of the women who went to these movies were there because their husband/boyfriend/male friend dragged them there? I know I've dragged my wife a few times. Also, I believe somewhere earlier in this thread it was posted that 65% of viewers for The Marvels opening weekend were male.
  9. Inflation generally results in lower unemployment and higher stock market.
  10. My grandma called Blue Beetle a bomb, and she never watches superhero movies. And, she's dead. That's how obvious it was.
