  1. Here are a few pics that compare our replicas to the originals that I had in photobucket: Moon Girl #1 Black Cat #50 Moon Girl #5
  2. Thanks Jayman! Yes, we have done a number of our "Flashback Replicas" over the past couple years. They are produced from my personal collection and start as 600 DPI scans which are then cleaned up. Sometimes, i have had to source an image from fellow collectors. My cover to Black Cat 50 had some problems and Jayman helped me out with a scan. I have not used the digitalcomicmuseum or similar because those scans do not provide high enough resolution. We do restore our scans. I'll post some images later this evening next to the originals for comparisons. Most of our sales come through Diamond. My company, Canton Street Press, produced Moon Girl #5 (our first replica). We have or are in the process of doing the entire Moon Girl run. The run will also be collected in a hard cover book once completed. A handful of EC books are in the public domain and Moon Girl is one of those series. We research each book we do with the US Copyright Office.
  3. I was trying to find an example, but some Canadian comics were edited/censored. I seem to remember Lady Luck #89. The US version prominently features a handgun pointed at Lady Luck. The Canadian version removes the handgun from the cover entirely. I passed on a Canadian version a couple years ago and now wish I owned it for just that reason (or at least a scan). Anyone have a copy to show to help me prove my memory is not bad? I also remember the editing of other firearms on some covers (but not all), but cannot remember which ones.
  4. In that example, he would turn his inventory 5x per year, not 10x. $100k of retail inventory at $50k cost. Rev is $500k with COGS at $250k. So, inventory turns would be $250k annual COGS divided by the $50k of inventory or 5x.
  5. If you mean MLJ when you say publisher, it would be the Top Notch #2 that has been the subject of much of the debate in this thread.
  6. Here are two war back covers. The first is WWII vintage and the second (my favorite) in Korean War vintage.
  7. That's a WWI cover as evidenced by the "1917" on the cover.
  8. I want to read about the mystery of raining fish! What comic is this?
  9. Not saying that I'd go the comic route, but starting and managing a business qualifies as an "interesting job".
  10. Not to my knowledge .... Calling Shrevvy! I didn't see this nine months ago when it was posted. comicdey and I did speak about Supersnipe. I did some research and the title was renewed by Street & Smith. The comics are still under copyright and absent getting a license, won't see print (by us anyway)
  11. tentative per PM. If I am reading the "piece missing" correct, the Shield and Hangman stories are complete. If so, I'll take it. If a tentative "I'll take it" is not allowed, I'll repost once I get clarification.
  12. Here's my copy: And here are the color guides/proofs for our replica edition that is being sent to the printer this week.
  13. The art posted in the first thread shows that the plane did not have the Balkenkreuz on the wing. It is the same symbol that is on the tail on the plane. I was remembering these debates and it's why I wanted to find the thread.
  14. Yes! That is the one I was remembering. Thanks.
