  1. Why the hate? I paid $78 shipped for 3x of the books from an artist I love and a character I love. Quite honestly it's a bargain from other variants I see these days, like this one that just ended: http://www.ebay.com/itm/112127311531?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Nothing wrong with love for an artist or character, but its naïve to think that's what driving this book. facts
  2. Wolverine #1 CBCS 9:8 SS sold for 3k http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wolverine-1-cbcs-9-8-ss-DEADPOOL-J-SCOTT-CAMPBELL-HERB-TRIMPE-ROMITA-not-CGC-/272365963761?hash=item3f6a46c9f1:g:t0wAAOSw-kdXxgEy Right in line with market ?
  3. Still not a bad price though man.Who knows what a 5 x SS commands in today's market? I only paid $200 for it raw...all in with sigs I was about $400 or so invested so I made out at the time. Not that sorry, but was a great book at the time...just not a lot of attention like now. $200 all in with five sigs?!!?? That means no Stan so I guess the other sigs were cover artist, interior artist, Slott, jaydog & lethal collector? I didn't even charge him for the sig! Jerome don't you and Jay only collect blue labels?

  6. There was a 9.6 on eBay but the listing isn't active anymore. Wonder when we will see another 9.8?
  7. The ruby red Campbell should be higher as well as the batman rrp. Don't agree with the rankings.
  8. Here is someone's top 100 variants list. Interesting http://comicbookinvest.com/2016/08/26/top-100-variants/
  9. Never thought about doing it that way, that's pretty cool. What kind of marker was used? Very nice! When i met them in 2013 i had them each sign one of my 9.6's Brian said to me "I'm sorry, I don't know how to open it" So i said, "No, sign the case! lol" TBP and Vikingreed posting Hey guys. Good to see that the OG saga adopters are still active. we just need Ryan to post . Reed- hopefully you will still be following the story even though you aren't continuing with the registry anymore
  10. For these variants print runs matter because they create the bulk of the demand. For Hulk #181 the demand is over what is on the inside. It's a big difference. When only the cover matters demand hangs by a very thin thread. By that logic, Hulk #180 would be the more valuable and sought-after book. This is not the case. Collectors prefer #181 because of... the cover. (Just throwing this out there, although I do see the point you're trying to make.) Also, many of these debates miss the fact that the hobby has grown into collectors purchasing many, many books purely for the cover artwork. It's art; not so different from buying a rare painting at this point. And the better the story behind it, the more it's worth. Im a cover collector Same here. I'm a cover collector too. I also prefer a hulk 181 over 180.
  11. So why not start the listing at $1,000 with no reserve? It'd all be profit beyond that and I'd be super surprised if you don't make 150% profit, minimum. You've got a lot less on the line than most owners of the book who could risk taking a bath on the sale if they paid over $3K for the book. But I understand if you enjoy having the book, maybe you don't really want to sell it? Jerome that's a great idea.
  12. There is an entire market of ebayers that ignore BIN listings No denying that. However, this book in 9.8 doesn't pop up very often. So the small number of collectors looking for this book in 9.8 will at least send best offers I would imagine.
  13. Exactly. I really don't see the point of using reserve. What a waste of time. If anything use a best offer option.
  14. Looks like the 9.8 was re-listed. But the 9.4 closed at $1650 ($400+ over the last sale and just $100 under the GPA high). -J. That 9.8 has been re-listed 4 times now without any bids. A 9.8 also just failed to sell on the boards for $3,300. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Spider-man-678-CGC-9-8-MJ-Variant-Cover-/252494602002?hash=item3ac9d9df12:g:xmkAAOSw6n5XqmNj -J. Jerome $2,247.00 Woah. That's the lowest I've seen a 9.8. Looks like the market thinks this book is sub $2500 now? What's the last 9.8 sale? $3500. An unsold item in an auction that didn't hit reserve (not a surprise since most reserved auctions are shunned by buyers) is not a comp. -J. I hear ya. I don't bid on reserve auctions either. Seller should remove the reserve feature and just let the market decide. He may get more serious bidders.

  16. Yeah. Earlier in the year a 9.8 Ss sold for under 1k on the boards and A blue for $850. Listings haven't been as frequent. Usually saga books take a dip during its hiatus though, but looks like that isn't the case for the rrp and #1. Saga is still the best modern out right IMO.
  17. I see Bill Sienkiewicz all the time, I'll ask him for some! I think he wouldnt be happy about it http://www.bleedingcool.com/2016/07/29/bill-sienkiewicz-speaks-out-against-fox-studios-san-diego-comic-con-dazzler-giveaway/ That's pretty rotten of them to not throw him some copies for himself Wow. Totally d move by fox. At least give the guy a heads up that you will be using his work. Just courtesy . Smh
  18. That asm 607 is classic JSC. if that was a variant who knows what prices would be ? One of my favorite covers. I know ASM #607 gets all the love, but is there anybody like me that thinks that ASM #601 is actually the nicer cover? Jim 601 is nice too.
