  1. I was lucky enough to have read the 3 Story GN before this series started so I was in from the beginning (3 Story is awesome) but I'd fallen behind on reading and had forgotten how amazing it is.

If there's any justice in the world. Mind MGMT will go down in comic history as a must-read classic. It's just incredible.

  2. this is AWESOME news!

    This will help you understand:

Nick had a couch out on his front porch to drink beer, smoke & watch NASCAR.

    He just replaced the couch.

You can still sit there, drink beer, smoke & watch NASCAR.

    Feel better?

OK, so...you are equating Riley Rossmo to Nick Spencer's couch. So, in your mind, Nick Spencer is the be-all, end-all...and Rossmo is a piece of disposable furniture. And this after all your pontificating about how you want to support artists, blah blah blah. NICE.

    :golfclap:

Okay guys lets not do any shots fired here. Let's all be nice. This thread is to talk up Bedlam not take shots at each other.

I agree, but when someone takes a shot by equating Riley to Nick Spencer's replaced old couch (wtf?) then I don't see any problem when shots are fired back.

  3. Amazing how well this book is doing. In a way it's been similar to PP for me. Starts off good enough to buy the next issue and then gets better and better. It's really great seeing so many books being able to survive as ongoings.

  4. You should do the phantom logo on the cover as one of those clear overlay type print things. That was what I was expecting it to be tbh.

    huh?

Its a 75% transparency now as it is.

    Unsure what you mean?

I mean printed in a different way to the rest of the cover, so that when you touch it it feels different. Like the way a lot of the Locke & Key covers are, and the hardcovers.

  5. So what is this image? 2nd print perhaps??

I thought it was the promo poster.

    Did I miss something?

I think it's pretty obvious only the 2nd image is the promo poster.

  6. Wow, did anyone read this review?

    http://www.craveonline.com/comics/previews/203291-todd-the-ugliest-kid-on-earth-1-no-thanks

    It starts with this:

In what has to be the most ill-advised release in comic book history, Image Comics unleashes a tale of an ugly kid who is mistakenly accused of being a child killer. Even if the entire Connecticut massacre hadn’t happened, Todd, The Ugliest Kid On Earth would be a monument to bad taste that few could beat. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not prude against off color humor or even bad taste but this, this isn’t even smart enough to be funny.

    And ends with this:

Todd, The Ugliest Kid On Earth is awful. Don’t just skip it. Burn it.

I don't know whether to  or :roflmao:

That review was a GIFT! You'll see what I mean on Feb 20, when TODD issue 1 (2nd Print) hits stores.

I hope you quote him on the front cover

My favorite part was "...the most ill-advised release in comic book history..."

Look, I'm a glass half-full kind of guy -- just glad we made history.

    :applause:

Iron muslim was most I'll advised.

lol, i still don't know how to react to that book

  7. I feel a bit uncharitable saying this, as ES has participated in the boards and been so friendly and generous with his time. But as this is a public forum, I'm going to soldier on...

I finally got to read the first two issues, and while there are things about them I like, being honest I'm not sure I would have pursued the series further without the stylish covers and the general buzz around the title. It's read to me as a pretty slow start, and perhaps more critically, I don't yet feel emotionally invested in the characters.

That said, I have a fresh copy of #3 still waiting to be read, so I do look forward to seeing where the storyline is going. I can appreciate that it does take a few issues for a title to set up all the chess pieces on the board (Thief of Thieves comes to mind, and it's among my favorites).

    Thoughts?

In a way I agree with you but for me it seems to have that special *something* that makes me keep coming back. I think it's a slow burner and each issue we're getting a small bit of the onion skin peeled back. I think the world that we're seeing is huuuuge and I'm very interested in seeing where it's going. The quality of the writing & art plus the mystery and the world that's being revealed is what I believe are keeping people interested. The characterisation and being emotionally invested in the characters is coming slowly imo but doesn't detract from its enjoyability.
