  1. Here's the Bowling Green copy. Note the impossibility of comparing multiple copies that have been differentially scanned and their images processed:
  2. OK, who are these friends, and when will you guys be gathering to have a comic selling party?
  3. What time Bob? Damned if I know, Nik. The slab thread'll go up when I get the rest of them scanned, so maybe around 8 EST tonight? Tomorrow morning I should be able to start the threads with the raw Silver Age books. Between now and then, I've got a whole lotta scanning and grading to do!
  4. I will not be able to participate in the upcoming Virtual Comic Con in two weeks, so this weekend I will be starting a couple of sales threads: - High grade Silver Age Marvel slabs - Silver Age Green Lantern - Silver Age Journey Into Mystery/Thor - Ten cent DC Silver Age I hope many of you will check out these sales threads. The first one up will be the Marvel slabs tonight (Friday), followed Saturday by the remaining threads. Bob
  5. Only one copy of this one in the census above 8.5:
  6. TTA 77 is a great comic. It's the first time that a Marvel Superhero had their secret identity revealed to the world - not sure if this was a first for the industry as a whole, but it was a startling storyline in its' day. Plus, for some unknown reason it is very scarce in grade (and while I didn't pay $642 for the 9.4 copy, I thought seriously about doing so).
  7. That's gorgeous OA, and some great examples of hard-to-find books. Here's one that has the brightest and best-preserved cover colors of any ten center in my collection:
  8. Hi Brad - no more GR Spideys left, you got the two that I've owned. In fact, I've only got two GR books left (TTA 57 and FF 53) that I know of, and I'm not ready to part with those runs yet. When I decide to sell, you know I'll give you a crack at them. I've also got 5 or 6 late Silver FFs that were purchased from James Haack, and may be GR copies without the date stamps, but only Haack would know for certain. Bob
  9. Thats the first time I see the Marvel chipping note on the label CGC isn't consistent, doncha know:
  10. I need a "post your oldest pedigree" thread, I reckon. Massachusetts copy:
  11. This one's available from me at considerably lower cost, and has better page quality and superior registration (yes, this is shameless hijacking!):
  12. Yeah, but then you'd have to be really freakin' old like me.
  13. I started buying and keeping comics in 1972, and bought all the Marvel Superhero titles, some DCs and undergrounds. I still have my original ASM run from 110-166, and also from 232-269 (stopped buying in '76 and resumed in '81). They're not all NM, unfortunately, but they were read with respect and many are still in top shape. Many are still raw: I've slabbed some (old scanner):
  14. Sorry, but this is the best I can do (9.2 white pgs):
  15. Another of my original copies bought off the rack:
  16. Here's my #93. Picked it up in Ebay a few months back. The scan created some odd reflections in the lower half (Cap's arm, Vision, Scarlet Witch) but they're NOT on the book. No black streak, and pretty good alignment with the wrap. A little crooked (see the top MCG band), but good enough for me! Nice book
  17. Love the colors on this cover, and the rendition of The Thing. Massachusetts copy:
  18. Marvel really had alot of production problems with this ish. In addition to the frequent ink-streaking, the book is very commonly miscut (like my copy) and miswrapped (again, like mine). Really tough to find a high grade copy with excellent QP. If anybody has one, I'd enjoy seeing it.
  19. Great looking copy of a book with a terrific Kirby cover. (thumbs u
  20. Love the Infantino interiors and the sci-fi-inspired stories. Check out this awesome, bizarre cover:
  21. Then there's this one from your want list, but it's only a measly 9.2
  22. It'll cost ya a bundle to pry it outta my hot little hands (I've only posted this book like a gajillion times)
