  1. I shipped a box today First Class. 12 oz. $3.29. I haven't bought boxes in 6+ months because I just recycle now, but I think they were about 85-90 cents each.

The complaint didn't start off as being a complaint about the shipping charge. It was purchased being told one thing, but receiving something different and then the responses from Kyle didn't help at all. I don't think I went about it the wrong way because I kept him anonymous as long as I could.

    Hey Tommy

    What's Venom's new ID?

    Thanks in advance

I actually removed myself from the topic last week. I cleared out my inbox. Sorry!

    That's weak.

You released him from the PL while he was deceiving others here creating a shill account, selling here under another name while he was on the PL.

I think that HOS worthy, I've seen people get on the HOS for less. Not you Tommy boy, but Venom should get a HOS vote for deception of the board.

I don't think he's using a new username as a shill. I think he's having login problems and his username isn't recognized nor his email he used to log in with in the last. I believe he has contacted Arch / the mods. (shrug)

Why don't you continue your investigation and then we'll all know (if he sold while on the PL) once the other ID is disclosed by you, tommy or ipdr2d2

If he did, then we vote. Simple. Whether those who knew what he was doing share blame is something we can all decide for ourselves.

He told me last week that he needed to step away from comics, so he just logged off. This was whenever the DC 3D covers came out.

Now he doesn't remember his password, so he started a new account. That's what he told me. And his post count wasn't very high at all. It might have actually been 0 still.

I understand. :) I asked about typical shipping costs for a box as I'm trying to get a sense of what is a "reasonable expectation" of service in the US for the amount paid.

I also understand that the seller has not been exactly conducting a clinic in customer service, but is there anything at this point that he could do to make this right?

I think it pretty much settled. It was a lesson learned. It was an overlook by me to put this in probation and not in general.

If you used one of those mini boxes to keep it under the weight, those can be hit-or-miss if the post office handles it rough enough. Especially since you can't use additional boards for protection at the risk of exceeding the max 13 oz limit.

I wish they were a little stronger, as they are perfect for one to three comics.

It was actually a Staples box I think (recycled). 12x?x2 (I forget the middle number).

  5. I'm confused about this ASM #1 Gamestop thing. So you need 6,000 points. You get 500 for registering your card online. That's down to 5,500 points.

You either get 10 points per dollar on new games or 20 points per dollar on used games.

Say you buy all new games you would need to spend $550. Which is what, 9-10 games? Or just a new system and a game? Or buy all used and it is half of that. But new you could always sell for a few dollars less on Amazon on eBay. Easy way to save $150-200 at least I think.

    Is my thinking all wrong?

  7. Feedback makes no difference, on here there are bad sellers and good sellers. It happens wherever. I will make sure next time, I send it secure..I guess I can bend the comic now, but as long as the packaging is ok, I have the blessings of the people..lol..

    Definitely. :eyeroll:

When I pay for one service, but get another service that is okay too...

I'll be waiting on here to see your excuses when someone gets their Media Mail inspected and gets hit with the Priority Mail charge.

really Tommy...What service did you pay for..If it got a priority charge, then guess what I pay it..Its called taking care of your customers. You paid for shipping of a raw..Midtown charges almost double for shipping in a manila envelope..You didn't pay for one service and get another..Thats a lie..Your lying, just like saying 1/100 shipped are in a box..

Midtown Comics charges $8.00 for shipping? I'm not going to say that's a lie over and over again. You are taking the 1/100 shipped out of context. It was said jokingly because you said you shipped box and bubble wrap (somehow I didn't get that service), but as long as you do it 1/100 times I guess you do ship boxed.

  8. The book wasn't shipped shoddy..The book was placed between cardboard, in a midtown bag, then put into a mailer..It wasn't getting bent..It was never shipped shoddy..The discussion is he thought it was coming in a box. and it came in a mailer..I mail in both, I must have thought I boxed it. But it was secure and safe..I receive comics between cardboard all the time from sellers here..

You have said before you don't sell on eBay. So you only sell on here and Blowout Cards. And I was the only one on here for days. It must be hard to keep track of all those sales.

(Priority Mail cardboard in Media Mail envelope. It was pretty shoddy.)

  10. no one was lied to intentionally. And lately around here, all people do is attack others without waiting for any explanations. Thats really too bad because a lot of us enjoy the actual comics and trading and selling them, as well as buying them..

You changed your story several times. It took me posting screen shots, quotes, tracking numbers to get something. You still have dodged several questions. And some questions you did answer were ridiculous. I advertise as shipping in box and bubble wrap because I actually do 1/100 times...

Ok I was gonna let this go since I had apologized etc. But what you have just said is an outright lie and slander..I do mail out comics in boxes etc. If you wanted a specific type of mail, you should request one before you buy..The prices are listed in every sale. They aren't adjusted by what you buy etc.I made a mistake, you were charged the same rate as everyone else would pay for the same things..Some go out in mailers, if I have decent ones, others in boxes..Both cost me the same.but to say I don't send out boxes except 1/100 is an outright lie..I could actually see him complaining if the comic was damaged and I refused to give out a refund..but none of that is the case..Instead we have to find things to yell at people about. I would be consistently posting about sellers in here, if shipping were the case..How about got the comic, its in great shape thanks..

  12. I didn't..I hadn't shipped anything out yet..I get my postage ahead of time..What do you mean after I shipped something out I claimed it was in a box..No way, never..

    HAH.

Weird the post office accepted it at 12:46 PM and departed at 5:54 PM and you told me it was in a box hours later at 9:02 PM.

  13. The last bits of the convo as he continues to dodge the question everyone is asking.

yep..4.00...prices range from 3.48-4.25...I pack in boxes with bubble wrap..

That is what you told me. Box with bubble wrap. You used free Priority Mail cardboard in an envelope with Media Mail. Where was the bubble wrap? Where was the box? If it got inspected I would have been hit with a $10-15 fine. So I think that makes you a liar.

You did me no favors. You had it for sale for $30 with 15% off, so I went in your thread and said I will take it. That is what you were selling it for, so it was not my cheap price.

I don't understand your defensive response. You are getting angry with me because I am asking why you sold something that you advertised differently. This isn't a good practice.

really, whats my shipping cost in my sales thread..read it, whats the discount on the comic..I didn't need a box, would have been too big for 1 comic..I found this mailer easier, as for inspection, never had one, as for lying..like I said..send it back get a refund..as for favors..go find one cheaper then..If it needed a box, would ship it in one..But either way would have still gone media mail..and yes I used the cardboard..oh my gosh...we're done..either return the comic, or a simple thank you..as for my defensive response, your calling me a liar, because I found a safer way to ship it..I am done with you...if you want to send it for a refund do so, the comic was in perfect shape..otherwise we're done..

You told me after you shipped it that you used a box and bubble wrap. Like it was on the way to me. How could you say that? I posted a screen shot of it in the probation discussion. You are just digging yourself deeper and deeper. Steady.

bye, I offered you a refund, you don't like it don't take it..

  14. Why would I return an item I wanted to buy? I wouldn't have bought it if I didn't want it.

And you're telling me through PM that you did me a favor. You had the item listed at $30 with a 15% discount. I didn't get a special deal. I just bought it at the price you were selling it for. It is your choice to constantly bump your threads and offer discounts.

  15. You're going to love his response then.

not for me..my prices range from 3.13 to 4.92 on media..and 11.39-11.99 on priority..what are you talking about..

I didn't respond because it was a 3 minute gap and I didn't even see it.

send it back...will send out the refund from paypal..your an insufficiently_thoughtful_person..My prices are shown, are you looking for things to off people, you tried in the revival thread..I don't need your cheap price on the asm I sold you, I did you a favor..I don't inflate my prices on my shipping or comics..Don't ever call me a liar, thats not true nor has it ever been true..So yea return it, I will paypal the money back to you. Give a cut rate price, and you complain about the shipping charge..wow..get a life

Edit: The revival thread comment is when he brought Revival from a few pages back on the Modern section saying that he knew there was going to be a TV show. And then he posted a sales thread for a full run CGC 9.8 minutes later. A lot of members called him out for manipulating.

  16. If you got the book you bought in the condition expected, I don't think the probation area is the place to discuss this topic. He has no way to 'make it right', as it is already right.

Not that the question isn't valid. It is. Maybe 'general sales discussion'?

(thumbs u Thank you. I was just looking for where to talk about it.

    (thumbs u

In general if you receive the item as described then I consider it a good transaction. The seller may have mixed up which package he was discussing. If you got what you paid for be :)

It's short sightedness like this that causes problems. I know because I was bombarded with a bunch of people like this a couple months ago where you miss the point completely and make the the OP the villain.

What would you do if you went to a restaurant and you order a medium steak, baked potato, and salad, yet they bring you a well done steak, fries, and salad. You call the waiter over and make a complaint only for him to say that you got your steak, potato, and salad so, be happy.

The point here is that you didn't get what you ordered/paid for. If I contact a seller and they tell me that they box their comics with bubbled wrap and I buy based on this only to have it show up in an envelope I did get what I was paying for.

So many people think that comment, "at least you got your books" justifies everything done wrong in the transaction. Sellers should follow their own terms of service and made accountable when they don't.

Open your minds and put yourselves in the shoes of those who you are doing these things to. Customer service is the backbone in servicing customers.

Your example is completely out to lunch. The OP got what he purchased but it was not sent the way he desired. He still got the comic and was happy with it.

IF I ever sent a package and I had a buyer request $1 refund or complained about $1 difference in postage then I would block them instantly. Feel free to see the thread in general about a few similar buyers.

The OP is not a villain in any way. He paid that extra dollar and feels ripped. Complain at will. The short sightedness is looking beyond receiving the goods you wanted.

I would be much more upset if the seller boxed the book and it arrived damaged. Then who are you going to blame? If this comic had arrived damaged then the seller would owe me a full refund plus return shipping for not providing the proper packaging. As it is the item arrived and the buyer likes the item. This is not missing the point. Receiving what you paid for in the condition it was described IS the point.

If the OP feels it is worth their time they are free to ask for the $1 refund. (shrug)

It's still not about the $1. If I bought an Amazon Prime package (2 day delivery) and they send it Saver Shiping (5-8 days) I would be upset. I bought a package that was advertised as box and bubble wrap. It was Media Mail, envelope, and Priority Mail cardboard. If that was inspected I would have been hit with a $15.30 charge from USPS. Okay it didn't happen this time, but still.

I got the package yesterday and messaged this:

You pack in a box with bubble wrap?

That was Priority Mail cardboard in an envelope from Midtown Comics sent Media Mail.

    What is the reasoning?

And I received this this morning:

That was a safe way for that one individual..it cost me 3.38 to ship..good lord..just enjoy your comic, not out to make money on shipping..my prices are listed and I stick to em..I ship medium priority and don't even charge what it costs..

    And I said this now:

Paying online Media Mail is $2.92. Paying online First Class is $2.93. The package was 10 oz. I ship hundreds to thousands of packages a year. Media Mail get inspected and you use Priority Mail cardboard.

You told me you were shipping one way and shipped a completely different way. I don't know why you would lie like that.

Lesson learned. Never buying from him. I don't want to clog up the probation discussion thread.

  17. I'd like to know more about the "Melissa" tab on the spreadsheet and the Grove St party

My girlfriend flipped comic books with me for a month, made like $250 and blew it all on Game of Thrones pop toys.

I can't be blamed for Grove St. Party. I just bought a new computer and it keeps coming back from being on iCloud hah.

  18. I got the comic book that I paid for, but not the service that I paid for. So I won't be a repeat customer with the seller. I don't understand the need to lie about something that clearly wasn't what was going on when it was being delivered to me. I just don't get it. Bad reputation.

Which leads me to believe that he wasn't lying intentionally. Doesn't make sense.

I think maybe he has a reputation I didn't realize. I know he bumps his threads a lot, but when no one was grabbing SSM #29 JSC variant for $25 I had to. Oh well. Comic survived the trip and didn't get inspected. Lesson learned.
