Hi Guys, I was at a Stan Lee signing and his handler would not allow any changing of pen colors/types. So, there was Stan Lee signing with a black sharpie and nothing else. His handler said that Stan will only sign with black sharpie because the other sharpie colors like silver or gold will chip over time and damage the comic book. Is this true? I believe he just wants to push the line through as fast as possible and not have anything slow it down. All other signings that I have been to, the artist or celebrity, is willing to change the pen color per the customer request. Sorry, I don't know if this has already been discussed. Thank you.

Yes, Ebay will remove any feedback that can be argued. They will not remove any feedback based on opinion. Terrible seller is opinion. Shilling auctions needs to be proved which we can't because IDs are protected.

I had a bad experience with coasttocoastcomics as well. I should have researched this seller more carefully. I am happy to see that you left him negative feedback. His emails are incredibly rude and crude. He does have some really nice books and good feedback which is why I bid in the first place. I did get a refund on my book which was overgraded and I believe he shilled the auction (but I have no proof). I believe that is how he has gotten away with no negative feedbacks. You would think he would have a ton more.

Only reason to keep in the slab is if you are worried about damage from handling (eg. it is a 9.8). CGC person might damage it by breaking it out same as you. Tiny ding and no more 9.8. Better to break out and look at the up close yourself and see if you agree with grade. Also save on shipping cost by breaking out. If looking for upgrade, consider break out and press. I finally made it to the Berkeley Comic Con today. I am a Berkeley graduate and haven't been there in ages. I didn't know what to expect and was not expecting to find too much. This con ended up being great! Scored a bunch of comics and great deals. One vendor had a new collection with some beautiful never touched before books. Small hall but just comics only like the good old days. Love it! Bought back so many memories. Highly recommended to any board members. Hope to this con continues to grow and prosper. Could end up being one of my favorites.

Class of 2002 here. Wow 15 years already. I remember when CGC first came out and people were so against it and saying it would fail. Company really changed the exchange/buying/selling of comics.

I know you have you wait until it hits shipped before seeing the grades online. Could you call CGC when it hits graded to get the grades? (I am sure they prefer everyone didn't do this otherwise they would be flooded with calls).

It is not common but it does happened. It seems like other sellers get all the luck with books that passed for 9.8 when I buy off Ebay. I have to admit that I received books that were 9.8 that I submitted and thought were 9.6 for sure. It kind of evens out. Grading is subjective!!! It is not an exact science.

It is going to make less sense to have a modern book graded. Maybe people will stop grading so much modern stuff that are not worth much.

Ask CGC. I believe you can. You might have to fill out a form that you are an artist/creator (even if amateur). Perhaps need to sign it in front of CGC witness even. Please post when you get your answer from CGC. I have been meaning to do one myself and submit for fun.

Agreed. Circulation/print numbers are dropping. The only thing keeping the number up is the variant stuff. Too much and getting out of control much like the 1990s.
