You wouldn't pay any tax at all as you are in Los Angeles

I don't think that's correct. Here is what Heritage told me in an email this week:

"This is a HAGI sale in Texas. Sales tax is applicable if the property is delivered to Texas, New York, Florida, Illinois or California; otherwise, no sales tax is due."

My read of this is that a buyer in LA would pay CA sales tax.

  2. Why 21% tax? Heritage told me that the art would be shipped from the Netherlands, so would this not be tax free in your case (assuming you’re in Belgium, but might be completely wrong)?

I have to say the whole auction is confusing to me. It’s called European comic art signature auction, but it includes non European art, the bids are in USD, the actual auction takes place in Texas and the art is in Europe? It’s really all over the place!

One of my covers has a small tear. It doesn't affect the art, so no need to give it to a professional, but I would like to put some tape over it to avoid it getting bigger. I'm looking for tape that is easy to remove and doesn't damage the paper, but still does the job. Do you have any suggestions? I think I heard the term "masking tape" before, but I might be making this up.

    Thanks!

  4. I'm trying to figure out the value of a page and wanted to ask you for your thoughts.

The page is from Thor 136 (page 14) and is penciled by Kirby and inked by Colletta. I think I know what the current market rate for a page like this would be as there is plenty of data. But I'm trying to understand if  the "first appearance" of Dr. Kincaid in this issue and on this page would have any (positive ) influence on the price. Would the page deserve a premium for Dr. Kincaid's introduction? Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

  5. Wanted to share my first framed artwork. Usually all the art I collect is in binders and I rarely see it so I wanted to give framing a try. The page is from Adventures of Superman 457 by Jurgens and Templeton. I chose this one for a first try because I thought Templeton's inks would display well. I'm really happy with the result and will definitely free more of the artwork from their binders :-).
