  1. Just picked up this key grail and be keen to get everyone's thoughts on the possible grade. Considering submitting for usual clean and press prior, thoughts on if needed?
  2. Oh and by the way... Order #: CGC6621776295 Submission #: 4088507 Received: 7/4/22 Items: 18 Declared Value: 7,200 Service: FAST TRACK ECONOMY Status: Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging 50+ days now and that includes languishing at Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging for two weeks now. TAT is listed as 20 days for Fast Track!
  3. It feels like to me that there is rogue grader(s) in there at the moment that are either ridiculously strict or just plain plucking numbers out of the air. It seems totally random getting assigned to them as well - as you describe, sometimes everything's fine on one submission and then next submission - boom! This is happening so much that I recently remarked to customer service that it would be great if they not assign my submissions to that same grader who seems to be dishing out those disastrous grades or at the very least, ask them to start supplying decent graders notes to justify their rationale. 🤣
  4. If only that actually worked in practice, I've had a submission sitting there for over 2 months now and at least two weeks of that in the Grading/Encapsulation phase. Rang a couple of times; told it was graded and sent for shipping last week, but when checked today still no movement and the customer service team had no idea what was happening. What I found frustrating is that despite asking for update from the grading floor, the CS team got no response from them (like no graders notes nowadays huh?). Wonder if @CGC Mike can elaborate?
  5. So assume you were bidding/watching that Excalibur auction too @Get Marwood & I
  6. Anyone know what happens if you have a signature on the back cover, is it treated as an interior page and thus Blue Label? Just purchased this book with Stan's sign on back.
  7. Wow, now really hoping that 9.9 love is for all winners.
  8. It will certainly be interesting to see the final grade here when it finally comes back if submitted. It's inspired me to dig out my copy and check it; seem to recall it was in good condition.
  9. I'm ever an optimist this 9.2 with a press and clean before submitting. A great book, good luck with the grading.
  10. Love this book, it's a tough one with that black cover, but I'm a bit more optimistic for potential grade at 9.0.
  11. I'm going out on a limb for 9.8 here and if unlucky you'll get a 9.6 min in my mind. That said, I'd you hit the infamous grumpy grader*, it's a 9.0 with no grader notes... *I've had him for 3 submissions thus far, he really does crush dreams and otherwise good books.
  12. 9.4 or 9.6. press seems to have done trick...
  13. From memory and reviewing the scans I think so (no longer have the book in hand to review).
  14. Last one for today, another one of these classics. Appreciate thoughts on possible grade. As always, will be cleaned and pressed.
  15. Appreciate thought on this classic book. Will be cleaned and pressed prior to submission.
  16. Would appreciate your thoughts on the possible grade for this Thor #133 from the recent Ian Penman Collection sale. As to be expected, the book will be cleaned and pressed before submission.
  17. My final UK price variant from the recent Ian Penman Collection sale of Werewolf By Night #10. As expected, cleaned and pressed before submission.
  18. Once again another UK price variant from the recent Ian Penman Collection sale for Werewolf By Night #11. Of course, cleaned and pressed before submission.
  19. Another UK price variant from the recent Ian Penman Collection sale for Werewolf By Night #10. Will be cleaned and pressed before submission.
  20. CGC trolls us once again. Congrats on the grade though. Instead of pressing, you could have used a tacking iron on that dent btw, although seems you didn't need it.
  21. +1. I do get the sense of that most of us here are collecting and occasionally flip/selling to support our growing collections.
  22. I watch Brys videos and was actually stunned that he had no idea about the boards. How can you be submitting to CGC yet never even look at our very own dark corner of the internet? Next thing you know we'll all be selling books on TikTok, asking for grading advice on Twitter or sticking crappily painted poorly misspelled acetate covers on our overstocked/purchased comic books.
