  1. Got my Claremont CGC In-House Private Signing books back this week. Very happy with the results, most of these were old CGC labels prior and were pressed by CCS with all, but one getting grade bumps. Unfortunately two have to go back as the graders missed noting the Byrne and Austin sigs on 1st page on a couple of the books. As an aside, love the different color sigs that Claremont did on some of these.
  2. Absolutely agree. I've been scouring for high grade UK variants and been lucky enough to grade a 9.6 X-Men 129 and Werewolf By Night 32 9.2. Wonder what those are worth nowadays given the scarcity?
  3. It's starting to as collectors discover that these books were printed at the same time and on the same press as the US books (some believe the UK variants were actually first of the press run). They were however only a fraction of the print run, making high grade copies scarce. Like all things it depends on the book, grade and/or if a key issue; whilst some collectors will always favour the US version, some UK variant pricing books are seeing significant price premiums (ie. Werewolf By Night 32). Other region price variants are seeing similar gains when available (ie. Canadian, Australia, etc).
  4. I have a working theory that CGC is out of magazine encapsulation supplies. It is the only reason I can come up with for why both my Eastman signing (been at Encapsulation for over 3 weeks according to CGC customer service and despite been listed as Scheduled for Grading) and Magazine Walkthrough Press & Grade (still sitting at Received since 4/11/2021 - even with new TATs well over a week late) submissions are significantly delayed. I've given up trying to get any sense or comfort from CGC Customer Service.
  5. Still waiting impatiently for my books from the signing. Mine were press and grade, so wanted to check if anyone else still waiting for books to arrive? My books have been marked as Scheduled for Grading since 4/13/2021 despite CGC customer service stating it has been at Encapsulation phase for over 3 weeks (I've spoken to then 3 times in that time). My working theory that the delay is due to CGC running out of Magazine sized encapsulation supplies hence the delays. Just wish CGC would be more transparent on issues rather than disappoint customers.
  6. Still no movement on a Walkthrough order; landed @10 days CCS TAT which was upped to 15 days TAT midway. Books are now 4 days over new 15 days TAT and still no movement. Exactly why is this called Walkthrough again?
  7. Things continue to get worse. Walkthrough pressing TAT just jumped from 10 to 15 business days this week for both comics and magazines. Not happy at all with that especially as I waited 3 weeks for them to just receive the walkthrough books. Called customer service and got the usual spiel. Think this whole mess is actually going to have an effect on submissions in the long run. Suspect I’m not alone in reconsidering my whole grading strategy for my collection going forward if not even walkthrough is immune along with CGC’s tone deaf style price hikes at a time when they are simply not delivering on customer promise.
  8. Also adding When Art Commissions Go Bad: Michael Golden which has the now legendary Patience is a Virue image.
  9. If you are interested, Bleeding Cool covered this thread back in the day including awesome piece that Bill made good with (for the record, I'm still not convinced of he was being a #%$! in the first place either). Bill Sienkiewicz And The Troll Bill Sienkiewicz And The Troll Part Two
  10. Tales To Astonish highlights from my recent submission back from CGC this week. \
  11. Not on this book, but yes, despite pressing by CCS, the Grader notes state "light rippling/warping whole book"
  12. Yes, CCS. That said, I have two other books in this same submission that far from turned out this well (think detached staples; tears and waviness - all in graders notes too)
  13. Latest updates in RED. Evident that the strangeness on what gets graded and when continues... The much delayed 15 book Modern Fast Track Press and Grade that was finally received last week was graded in a day (much like the 5 book Value Fast Track Press & Grade) whilst both 15 book Modern Fast Track Grade and Eastman Magazine Signings still sitting at Scheduled for Grading from mid last week.
  14. Latest updates (in red) and finally starting to see movement after long delays. Sadly, two of the books in recently Finalised Value Fast Track Press & Grade had some funky stuff happening in graders notes. Looks like CCS issues again, but waiting to get books in hand to verify. In other good news though, Eastman signing books finally out of CCS and Scheduled for Grading.
  15. Hey team. Need advice, submitted silver age minor key to CGC via CCS. It came (it is en-route to me shipping) with grader notes stating: Grader Notes:moderate cover tanning staple detached bottom of front cover staple detached top of front cover very small chip out right top of front cover The staple detachment is new and I'm obviously concerned that this has occured in pressing. Both seemed fine when submitted to CGC ( also took scans on the book prior to sending - and also featured it on Hey Buddy Can You Spare A Grade). With that in mind, has this happened to anyone else? and what is the recourse/best practice (if any) here?

  17. The Walkthrough finally appears as received, and then closely followed by the Modern Fast Track which skipped Received and went straight to Scheduled for Grading (it was in the same package). As per most posts, we are at just over 3 weeks for CGC to open a box now.
  18. Think I noted a couple of color breaking spine ticks, but think still has an outside chance of a 9.4. Good luck if you choose to submit. I love this book too, Legion is awesome character (I'm lucky to have a 9.8 and 9.6 in my possession).
  19. I'm going to be optimistic and say 7.5. I love those stamps on the back cover too, great to see provanence like that.
