  3. Final update for this one. Mark Bagley will be signing, doing sketches, and photo ops too. See the post above or the website for the rates. Between Nick and I, we will have over 100 long boxes and some pretty cool wall books too! Please check out Nick's booth too, he has a lot of good sales he on the boards but also has some killer stuff at shows. I have bought a good chunk for my own collection over the years.
  4. Well just in case plans change....... I asked the promoter and Bagley is only charging 10 bucks a SIG on ASM 361-363. Other books are first 5 books signed FREE and then 5 bucks each after that! Sketch rates started at 60 on up depending on what you wanted. Great deal in this day and age of cons.
  5. Thanks. I would probably haul wall books and slabs into a hotel room but I can't fit 40+ longs in a hotel room easily. Correct it would be in Michigan. (Or in a a surrounding state). Right now at night it is generally 60-70 here.
  6. Question for the board - When traveling to a show with a large stock of comics have you ever left the books in a vehicle overnight? Obviously there is the threat of theft but my worry is about weather conditions. I store my stock in a secure climate controlled indoor storage unit (not the cheapest option but it does a great job) and am hesitant to expose the books to even one night in different weather. Am I just worrying for nothing? Or is this something to absolutely avoid? Any assistance and information is greatly appreciated.
  7. Missed the Superman, great pickup nearmint!!
  8. As always guys, THANK YOU so much for the advice and help. I really love this board and the information it provides. I'm going to do what you guys said here actually, see if I can dump them before the show starts at a discount to another dealer that does them (if there is one there, it is a smaller show), and then do the 5/half off to move at least some. After that, I am either going to dump them to another dealer even cheaper or consign them somewhere. Someone had recommended that to me over PM and I like the idea of consigning them. A local shop that is new, and run by nice people, had asked me for consignments to build inventory. I wouldn't even mind given them a 50/50 split on them just to get them out and moving. Thanks again for all the feedback and I'll let you know it goes.
  9. I just started selling at smaller cons in my home state, mainly to liquidate the stuff in collections I've been buying out that I don't want to keep for me. In one collection I bought out I ended up getting about 5-6 long boxes of TPBs and then about another 2 long boxes of hardcovers. I kept about a short box worth of it for stuff I wanted, and am taking some of the very kid friendly/young adult friendly ones over to a charity, but the rest I want to try at a small local show later this month. Does anyone have tips for selling about 8 longs of graphic novels at a show? Most of the shows I've seen where dealers are selling them they usually have about 3-4 tables worth. I've seen some dealers say half off cover, 25% off cover, 60% off cover etc. I was thinking about just doing all the trades at 5 bucks each and then offer bulk discounts if someone starts buying more. I was thinking about doing half cover on the hardcovers, but my goal on both is more volume than maximizing profit. Those suckers are HEAVY and taking up a lot of space. I would like to move them even if I am leaving a little on the table. Any advice from the board to help an up and comer?
  10. Home Page: https://capcitycomiccon.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/capcitycomiccon/ Small but growing one day show in East Lansing MI. Show is on the floor where MSU basketball plays. They take out the hardwood for the show and setup on the concrete of the arena floor. This is the third year for the show and second at this venue. Myself and two other boardies (Nick's Comics and Tempus Fugit) setup last year and did very good. I think there are still a few booths available, but it is slim pickings and likely interior only. This show is about a 3 hour drive from Chicago, and about an hour and 15 from Detroit. Carnage creator Mark Bagley announced for it this year.
  11. If there is a second copy of ASM 362 NM 9.4/9.6 $3, on that copy too please
