So just for s&g’s I'm gonna ask this one… what if you had a book signed several years ago by an artist that is still alive and still does cons. If you bring one of their signed books to a con and get a witness to go to their booth with you where they see the signature and state clearly that they already signed it, how would that be handled?

Well, CGC is raising prices for their services, and...

I'm torn on this. On one hand, if I am being honest, I've had an Elite membership since 2013 and probably haven't submitted anything since 2018, so I am accustomed to p---ing money down my leg. In that vein, the increase likely won't directly affect me anytime soon. Nevertheless, it does seem to be massive overhaul to the entire system that offers little benefit to the collector. Higher prices, lower discounts, longer waits etc. Even with the influx of new hires it's not like they are promising a better turn around time. -
Hot damn, how did you pick that out? I've read it, but never would have placed it so quickly.

Gino, sorry for not chiming in sooner. Nice grab! I was hoping to pick up the 3.0 on Heritage last night, but passed out before the auction ended. -

A solid showing across the board for Archie/MLJs on Heritage the past few days. I thought the Pep 22 went a bit cheap but then again it was out of my price range so who am I to talk. What do all my Archie/MLJ peeps think? Any surprises in your mind? Also, while not on heritage I saw a really banged up Pep 41 sell on eBay this afternoon for 650. Made me go pull mine just to remind myself how pretty it is. -
Heritage Fall Signature Auction
GoldenPRGuy replied to Mr. Lady Luck's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
So here is my question for today's auction. Suzie 63 (labeled Edgar Church) is on the block along with all the other Mile High Suzies. It's a 9.0 with lower page quality than the others. But here's the thing... I own the Church copy of 63, 9.4 with White Pages. I know there were a few doubles out there, but I'm pretty sure this wasn't one of them. I've reviewed the original list from Chuck and there is only one. I wonder how CGC goes about giving out these designations. Thoughts? -

Been while since I posted, and should have shared this sooner as @Sqeggs referenced it in his NYCC post... here are my acquisitions from this year's show! Sorry I missed you, Tony! -

I was shocked and saddened to see the email today from ComicLink on John's passing. For 33 of my 35 years of collecting I never had the opportunity to do business with him. I'd see him at the New York show, or others, but always in passing. In 2016, NYCC, I finally stopped by the booth and wound up in a very long conversation with him. He was a lot of fun to chat with, extremely easy going, and he made it very easy for me to buy a book from him over the course of the year that I normally would not have been able to afford all at once. Through the months we had a chance to talk comics, family and more, and it became clearer and clearer to me what a kind and genuine person he was. We made a plan for another round of purchases in 2017, and at the New York show as much as I enjoyed the usual walk, I was most excited to get to his booth, see what he had in store for me and shoot the ----. I spent a long time at the booth with him, and got a chance to meet and talk with the rest of the family as well. I last spoke with him right before the holidays about a purchase and his offer to help me to acquire my grail, a conversation which lasted 5-10 minutes on a call that lasted over an hour talking about collecting and family. And when it came to the latter, it was clear that he was incredibly proud of his. I can only imagine how devastated they are right now. My deepest condolences to Verzyl family and all of you who knew him so well!

I was patient... I used most of the time JV gave me... I wasn't really in a rush. But now that it's here, I'm pretty excited. Gonna stare at it for a while and then put it on lockdown with the rest of its siblings! -

I've got my eyes on one item only: Pep 22 8.0 OW-W ... it's going to bring new record price. Wish I had the cash. What do you think, 2? 250? -
I do love your rack, Steve. Been a while since you gave everyone a peek!

I love seeing the Canadian version of GA/SA. Sometimes it's clearly marked, but sometimes it's just the color shift that gives it away, or the lack of month printed on the cover. Regardless, they are very cool! Thanks for posting!
