  1. That is a great cover. I really like when they would occasionally put pop-culture figures on the comic. It was few and far between that Archie did it but the Beatles, Elvis and a few others did appear.
  2. I think it was that same show, or maybe the year before, that I held my grail for the first and only time in my 41 years of life. It was a low grade copy, but it made me so happy. Hated handing it back. I fear this book will wind up as the only MLJ missing from my collection.
  3. Excellent! So good to know where it will be when I am ready to buy it.
  4. I'm not sure how I missed the original post, Tony, but I always wondered who wound up with this stunner. I saw it back in October of 13 at NYCC on display in the CL or CC booth (can't remember which). I am beyond jealous!
  5. Really really nice copy, Tony! I bought a stunning one off eBay a few years back but it has the tiniest bit of amateur color touch on the lower spine, and since I'm not in the mood for a purple label, I'm gonna keep it raw or see what Matt can do to rectify it. But yours is just awesome! Congrats!
  6. Here's two new additions to the collection courtesy of inaflash... his pics pre-purchase, but they arrived today and look even better in person. Had both, but I'm sure you'll agree these are some lovely upgrades.
  7. That's a nice copy Jason. Mine is maybe a 4.0. I agree it is a tough one to find in high grade. I did pass on one once a few years ago that was really high grade. Seemed pricey to me at the time and I wanted other things. I'll keep my eye out.
  8. Wow, that is one fine looking 1.5 and a killer issue. These days I'm loving all Golden's regardless of grade.
  9. That's cool that you still have a picture of it! As promised, when you posted yours, here's mine KK #5. As I said, first Katy book I ever purchased, and remained my lone copy for at least a dozen years.
  10. Is that the Dixie special, Tom? Amazing looking copy, can't wait to see what it grades if you ever slab it. Congrats on the completion! I only need two pinup parades as well and as much as I don't want to do it I've considered breaking down and buying qkick's copies. As for being a true completist, you know I'm already far down that rabbit hole. It's good to try to hold back but the itch will get to you eventually. Thanks for posting your #1!
  11. Doc Joe .... Seriously?! Wow, was not expecting that. Out-spooning-standing!!
  12. Yeah, I should buy the grading notes on that one and try to understand the logic behind it.
  13. Here's my Church copy of KK#2. Not the finest example of the pedigree, but a Church nonetheless.
  14. Looks brand new. How long ago did you buy it? And forgive my ignorance ... 6th Street? Is that a pedigree?
  15. Might be the second appearance but that cover is much better than Wilbur 5!
  16. Nice Annua! It's hard to find the first 2 or 3 in good shape, at least I feel that way... Not to mention a nice variant. Took me a long time to find a great copy of #1. I do own one of the two CGC'd Annual #6's in 9.2, but my other annuals are just so so. I realize I have very few KK books scanned which is poor form for a thread I started. Gotta find some free time. Here is one other I do have scanned. Only better copy I've seen is the 9.2 Microbia had on eBay which was too pricey for me to drop on a KK9.
  17. Beautiful copy. If you've gotta have one that you keep that's a great cover. Coincidently, for about 12 years that's the only issue I owned. I'll have to scan mine and put it up.
  18. Wow congrats on the complete set. Would definitely love to see some scans when you have time. House Of Comics definitely helped me along as well; bought some beautiful books from him. I have not completed the collection just yet. I still need about 6 more books across all the KK titles. All of them are on eBay right now in varying conditions but none of them are in the shape I'm shopping for.
