  1. I finally found a piece I have been looking for for over 5 years. The cover to Dead@17: The Thirteenth Brother #4. Thrilled to be one step closer to reassembling this book. I hadn't found a piece from it in 5 years so I am glad I was able to track it down. You can read the whole story on my CAF. With this purchase I now own almost 3/4 of the book and know where all but 2 of the remaining pages are. I still need to track down page 15 and 20 so if anyone has any leads I would love to hear them.
  2. An affordable comixpress is for sale on ebay if anyone is intersted in it. Just thought I would mention it in case anyone here is looking for a copy.
  3. This copy just resurfaced again with a very optimistic BIN of $2000. The seller ended up taking a Best Offer of $1200 for it. I think in this case someone unknowledgeable bought into the buyer's description which is what I think happened when the original buyer purchased it at $895. That seems very high to me but they seem to sell for more and more each time they show up. Link to auction
  4. Universal Optioned Locke & Key for a feature film.
  5. Oh believe me I wish it were mine. You must have missed the link at the very top of my post. The seller is asking $3000 for it.
  6. Now here is a cool Mouse Guard book. The Mouse Guard sketchbook from 2004. The seller says that David emailed him the following about the book. "WOW! You have something pretty rare there! That sketchbook is so rare, in-fact, that I have not yet publicly acknowledged it's existence. The sketchbook I tend to call the 'first' is the 2006 sketchbook I released after the first issue of Mouse Guard was self-published in May of 2005. What you have is something I put together for a convention in October of 2004 to drum up interest in Mouse Guard before I was to draw a self published an issue. They were printed on my home printer and I printed a total of 4-7 of them." David did a blogpost on the sketchbook after it came out of the woodwork and included pictures of all of the artwork included in the 2004 sketchbook.
  7. Looks like the Comixpress are coming out of the woodwork. I think I'll stick with my copy and let someone else go after this one. There is no way that CGC 9.4 is going to sell for $5000. Definitely wishful thinking.
  8. Fantastic page. I had thought about getting that one when I saw it listed but had too many other irons in the fire.
  9. The Comixpress arrived today. I am very pleased with it. It's no NM by any means but I don't care. To me these books were made to be previewed and enjoyed. Not collected. I thought I would take pictures of it with my other grail. My Dead@17 Fiasco Comics. Now to find a copy of my final grail, Thorn: Tales from the Lantern, and I will have the trifecta of my favorite comics.
  10. Looks like someone scored a Mouse Guard Comixpress. Who might that someone be? That someone just so happens to be me. I have been looking for a copy for a while and didn't expect to find one anytime soon but when I saw the BIN on it I couldn't resist. Someone had placed a bid but since it had a reserve it didn't kill the BIN. What do you guys think of the price? It seems cheap to me but I am not going to argue. Even if it isn't the greatest condition I am just glad to have a copy. I can't wait to get it. I'll share pictures when it arrives.
  11. I would have to agree with you, Bill. The CBLDF probably set the price. They probably figured that if they set the price for comics at $30 the line would move along faster. Collectors would be the ones with the comics and knowing that in the past he hasn't charged for his signature might have one signed and just move on instead of having multiple copies signed. A child on the other hand would be bringing a TPB instead of a comic and probably only want one signed so they would get the quick $5 from them and keep the line moving. At least that would be a smart move to me seeing as he was only signing for an hour and probably wanted to sign for as many fans as possible.
  12. Yes they are. Looking at the art size of the pieces on the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum Image Database it looks like Jeff draws the art on 14" x 17" boards. It sounds like IDW crops all of modern books to 12" x 17". Even on the 14" x 17" board the art is less then 12" x 17" so that would make sense to go with a more standard size to keep with the other books already published. Lets just hope Jeff didn't make any notes in the borders that will be cropped out. Being able to see into the process of the book as it was being created is one of the great things about the Artist Editions. The books are really a sight to behold. I have a copy of the Dave Stevens' Rocketeer Artist's Edition.
  13. IDW annouced they are doing an Artist's Edition of the "Great Cow Race" story line. One can only hope they decide to go through with the whole story line. I know I would love to see the complete story in all it's original art glory.
  14. Thanks. So I take it you have the Dave Sim piece already knowing how hard it is to find a Jeff Smith piece (took me 2 years to find mine and figured I would still be looking now).
  15. Thanks guys. I am very pleased to have them. Okay. Here is something you don't find everyday. A Jeff Smith Bone piece. The was published as the cover to the TPB The Complete Bone Adventures #3. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be able to find a Jeff Smith piece. Let alone be able to afford it. Getting this piece was just pure luck. It is definitely the grail piece of my collection.
  16. They are both great reads. Terry's work doesn't seem to get as much love around here as it should. Actually Terry is now taking pre-orders for the SIP Softcover omnibus. $100 plus shipping. It's a great deal if you haven't read the series. Works out to be about 4 ¢ a page.
  17. No. I only have the one page from Terry for the time being but at some point would like to pick up another page. It will probably be a page from Strangers In Paradise though. Terry writes great stories with fantastic art.
  18. How about some more love for Rachel Rising? I wanted a nice page by Terry Moore and to me Issue 11 Page 18 really showed the mood of the story. I couldn't purchase this page fast enough when Terry posted it on his website for sale.
  19. I wanted a nice action page from Y: The Last Man. When I saw Issue 13 Page 19 on Jose Marzan's website I had to pick it up. When I read Y: The Last Man there was only one page that I really wanted. For me this was THE Y: The Last Man page that I had to own. Issue 15 Page 11. I love the panel of 355 hugging Yorick. It is the sentiment that I had reading the whole story. Yorick and 355 ending up being together. I never figured I would be able to find this page since I just read the story recently but it turned out Pia Guerra still had the page so I was able to purchase it through Cadence Comic Art.
  20. That copy was listed with a fixed BIN of $850.
  21. So you're the one that beat me to the punch. I was selling some books to try to raise the funds for it. Definitely a great looking copy. Congratulations.
  22. An awesomely creepy Dead@17 commission arrived from Bryan Baugh (creator of Wulf and Batsy) yesterday. Link to CAF.
  23. Great transaction with Royce. Great comics, fast shipping and great communication. Highly recommended. (thumbs u
  24. I commissioned Josh Howard to do a Twin Peaks piece. He is a huge fan as well so I knew the piece was going to be amazing. He totally outdid himself on this one. It has to be one of his best pieces to date. Twin Peaks commission
  25. I am going to go out on a limb and say everyone is fine
