  1. Looks like this was Kraven's last journey as he was viciously beheaded by this seller http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMAZING-SPIDER-MAN-34-Marvel-Comic-Book-Fair-Good-2-0-March-1966-Kraven-/292209040051?hash=item4409041ab3:g:iuEAAOSwaopZivwb
  2. I think youre taking my words too personal friend. Whoever thinks that AF15 is a common book to find EVERYWHERE is dumb. I stand by my words
  3. Why do I have to quote anyone? Oh thats right were on the internets.. Theres GOTTA be an "us vs them" agenda here.. I was actually being quite general with many points of reference as examples. Nothing personal against anyone
  4. Define "accessible"? Available to everyone on eBay? So all those who support that notion committed to the fact that eBay IS the official comic book market. No Accessible is ALL avenues of purchase; online, LCS, garage sales.. etc etc The fact of the matter is that AF15 is ONLY common online BY PEOPLE WHO KNOW ITS WORTH. Dealers & flippers. Now. So what, everyone asks, I have an internet connection and I can get AF15 shipped to my door, Im willing to pay the dealer price. cause eBay and auctions are an accurate reflection of the market. OK. Good luck to you sir. Please escort yourself to the nearest exit and don't let the shillers hit you on your way out. No. AF15 is not a common book. (DUH) In fact, none of the LCS (remember those? you know, those comic book specialty shops that do NOTHING but retail comic books old and new) around me even have an AF15, and there are at least 2 dozen shops within miles away from me. So not accessible there either. Look at a thread like "garage/craigslist finds" (too lazy to link) on this board. A very active thread that goes back years in time, and features some of the most fantastic finds by some of the savviest of this collectors society. How many AF15 have you seen there? No AF15 is not a common book. Anyone that agrees with that notion has a hidden political agenda, a horse in a race, or just wants to present a sophisticated point of view which actually is quite dumb. Because reality sometimes is just as simple as that.
  5. Low print Gerard Way book.. Belongs in the "Books find in the wild" section
  6. Absolutely LOVING the BWS take thanks for sharing. I think the reason why Marvel chose to reject his take was because Dracula doesn't look as sinister as in the one chosen. He simply looks like a man in a cape wearing jeans
  7. Actually GOTG is proof that u don't need an extremely popular super hero to make a hot movie work. In fact. You don't even have to follow its origins in regards to the properties original lineup. How many here were shocked and skeptical when Marvel first announced that movie. And how many were even more shocked when it proved to be a hit. So to answer your question. No. There is no shortage in superheroes. And if a good creative production team decides to pick a new property or adapt an older one the results may very well be the same
  8. And boom just like that we created another ratio metric system with comics interesting observation VMan ??

  10. Mark Schultz sighting in Boston Comic Con this weekend
  11. Pretty soon Josh Brolin will play everyone in the MCU including Stan Lee cameos
  12. Well the printed media era as a whole is slowly phasing out. But the collectible market is still very very healthy. So as long as there is a strong secondary market hunger there should always be hard copies of books
  13. Of course u can't let it go. Because u keep flipping the -script, pun intended. Let's not derail this topic any further than you already have. Lets agree that you will keep believing that Millar is a more successful and influential writer in comic book world and/or film, than Miller, Moore & Gaiman are and leave it at that ok?
  14. Are you kidding me? Hollywood success has NOTHING to do with a single property of a best selling book being adapted successfully or not into film . Lets start there. Watchmen sold MILLIONS OF COPIES, won multiple awards, adapted to film several times and influenced millions of readers and writers (probably including Mr Millar himself). None of Millar's creations have done any of that. Second. No no no no no... Civil War or Logan ARE NOT a Millarworld property. Thats not how you play this game. I doubt that even a small percentage of movie goers who went to see those movies even know who Millar is. The main reason why it did so well was because of the properties attached to it and Marvel's continued success at the box office. Not the story. End of story. And last, your continued effort to plug this AMAZING DEAL of Netflix/Millarworld is nothing but that. A plug. There is nothing about this probable deal that screams success or spells out disaster. Its just one more possible acquisition by one other (personally, I think horrible) network which remains to unfold. I personally like Millars properties (as I mentioned earlier in this thread) more than I do his work for Marvel. But Im not saying that Millar's properties *should* be more successful than Miller's. (I actually don't believe that). I'm simply saying that they *arent*.
  15. Kickstarter is not a digital comic distributor. There are many projects offering hard copies alongside digital ones
  16. Abso-fu'in-lutely! The only thing a modern Stan Lee needs today is to create a web-based platform and have a stellar talent search team working for him. Identify successful projects and cater to them directly. A sort of start up VC catering to comic book talent. That DEFINITELY will be a game changer on all fronts
  17. Spoke too soon https://techcrunch.com/2017/08/11/walking-dead-creator-robert-kirkman-signs-deal-to-develop-tv-for-amazon/
  18. Brilliant perspective @Brock This absolutely makes alot of sense to me. I see this time and time again with successful comic projects on kickstarter that never ever get any mention in the collector society blogosphere. I TOTALLY agree that the next Marvel is probably already happening and its right under our noses. But we're so consumed with past collectibles worth that we are totally oblivious to it. I think that an exclusive comic book based kickstarter managed by an Elon Musk clone could have a tremendous influence on the market. And it would probably also be better for readers AND collectors, being that most Kickstarter projects cater directly to the consumer, resulting in on demand printed orders and a much much muuuuuch tighter second market leftover margin
  19. What are you basing your facts on with this statement?!? Watchmen is BY FAR a bigger property than ANY of Millar's books. On screen and published paper sales combined. Dark Knight returns is probably the most important graphic novel published in modern history. No other book has influenced, inspired and shaped pop culture as that masterpiece. 30 years after it first published, that book STILL to this day defines who Batman is on paper and on screen. Millar is just the flavor of the day. Shows some promise, but certainly not influential YET on pop culture. Having 2-3 good movies (heck, even GREAT movies) based on books with comparatively weak sales performance and with ZERO merchandising and marketing power other than screenplay doesn't make you influential on anybody. Lets see if he will live up to be even REMOTELY close to these giant writers/creators you just threw under the bus in 20-30 years shall we?
