If you say so.  I'm still sitting on a nice high grade set for less that $85.  My spare 7 and 8s have all sold but I'd have thought the sets would be over $100 by now.

That’s exactly what I’m saying. The sets are moving quickly but at similar prices to older. The difference being, that the “key” has shifted to #1 instead of 7 & 8. It seems like a new blood of collectors (who aren’t familiar with the series) are following conservative lines of collecting by picking the first issue as the important of the pack.
This is like a mini Infinity War bump

About this time every year you see the grails see nice sales as people buy for Christmas.
Hot books kinda slow down this time of year along with other books. That's just what I have
seen over the years. A lot of years this is my buying time from here to tax season as buyers/sellers/collectors
    dump to pay bills.

I didn’t understand anything from what you wrote. But if u meant that books have cooled off this time of year you’re absolutely right. But every year is different. Last year I made a killing in November-December. Every year is different

I haven't looked in a while, but the marvelmasterworks.com forums used to have a forum for custom binding. Lots of folks out there who are really into it. I've considered it many times over the years. If any of you are interested, I'd suggest heading over to those boards and poking around, lots of good info. I may break down and have all of Giffen LoSH stuff (particularly the 5YL stuff) custom bound at some point, because I don't think DC is ever going to get around to it, the jerks.

Ok here it is, a link to the Homegrown Hardcovers binding forum. Get to readin'!

Yup also superboy and losh is on my list. There’s a b&w compilation of those and even they are up there in price

    Ohhhhhhhhh.

It still looks like a real Omnibus. Damn impressive.

I might start getting Spawn custom-bound like this. The Origins Collection stopped around Issue #125.

I have many runs that I’d love to bind for my own pc. Believe it or not a lot of New Universe stuff that I grew up on is up there on that list.

How does one go about making something like that? Or maybe I should just google, "how to make a book from comics"? That's really cool.

Seriously!? The edges look like you bound it perfectly. Wow.

So I actually won this on the bay. The original owner sold it on eBay a couple of years ago, and then the 2nd owner sold it recently. I think the buck will stop with me as I’m really impressed with this and got it for a great price

But you can get a custom made Omni with houchen, which I’m pretty sure is how this one was made

I don't know if it is superior for buying from or selling by smaller retailers. I have not tried to sell there.

    What does that mean?

as an online retailer they blow eBay out of the water. If eBay excelled in selling pez dispensers on its platform that won’t make them survive when 80-90 percent of its business is lost to the better competitor with general retail products

  7. This business analyst shares the same concerns as Buzz

    https://www.bizjournals.com/sanjose/news/2019/11/25/analysts-wonder-whether-ebay-could-have-held-out.html?ana=apple_sanfrancisco

Armstrong criticized the approach of selling StubHub in order to increase value for shareholders, and said eBay hasn’t charted a path for how it will continue to grow its business. He wondered whether eBay’s core marketplace business would eventually be sold to a large retailer or a tech giant like Google, or be sold to a private equity firm and be taken private.

  8. Comparing eBay to MySpace is more or less accurate... there was a time where Facebook and MySpace coexisted and slowly fb took more and more shares from MySpace. Eventually what was left over from MySpace were its avid music user community and eventually even that faded away.
same is w eBay v Amazon. When someone wants to buy something nowadays they go straight to amazon. eBay is now left with very few retail branches that are somewhat more popular on their platform than Amazon’s.
When will that go away? We don’t know
