This always boggles the mind. IH181 was a 30-40.00 book in the mid 80s. In NM nonetheless. That's approximately 60-70.00 by today's standards. But not just that, it wasn't even anything that you'd get excited over. Sure, if u were a marvel fan you probably had one, cause it was a key, but if u were collecting trending books you'd probably be after a sizzling indie, or a hot new DC book, a s&n limited edition book, or whatever Chuck Rozanski hyped on his monthly newsletters. So... Which ONE book that goes for (up to) 70.00 today do you see as a hot, in demand, 1000.00+ book in the mid 2040s? Tip - it doesn't even have to be a first appearance

Comparing TAH to EOSV is simply wrong. No character that Marvel has invented in the past 5 years has the same fanbase as Spider Gwen. Not to say the she is the most innovative creation ever, she's a gimmick that worked well. Extremely well. I don't like her anymore than most people on this board, but I recognize her loyal fan base, cosplayers and merch power. I would even add that Gwenpool (not Spidergwen) was probably a prototype of the new wolvie/hulk character. Marvel married 2 popular characters Spider-Gwen and Deadpool and came up with a hit. It's easy to see how they would further experiment with similar popular characters and achieve similar results. I would compare Spider Gwen to Miles Morales if anything. Was funny I was looking at prices from OSPG 1987 of some prices of "grails" today. All in Mint: IH181 for 32$ HOS 92 for 25.00 ASM 129 14.00 IM 55 wasn't even listed seperately as 1st Thanos!! It just said Starlin c/a 4.00$ ? Meanwhile the same year books like fish police 1 were 28.00 and elemental 15.00

I think most people forget that... this cover is from the 90s!! His art hasn't changed much since then. The only thing that changed was the paint/color process. Anyone here w photoshop knowledge and a b&w rendering of that cover can remix it to be what we're all used to see from Hughes today. The art is the same. His girls are the same. The butt/b**bs are the same. It's just the painting renderings that have changed
