  2. Wasn't sure where to post this didn't want to start a thread about it but thought it was funny. Took the kids to a park today out of town where we had dinner and spotted this mean machine!! Instantly thought of the classic Adventure Comics #78 and tried to rally the troops to get a photo. My son made it in the picture too he is just standing behind my daughter!! Good Times!!!
  3. Great trio of Fox books! It's incredible how much the market has changed for these later superhero Fox books. They could be had for a song a few years ago,now they're setting records in every auction. I always felt they were under appreciated..no longer! WOW THAT IS QUITE THE GROUPING BROTHER!!!!!!! I will be honest I don't ever remember seeing a 28 for sale since I've started really chasing these. Heritage hasn't sold a copy in over 10 yrs!!! That's saying something right there...that 29 is super neat too!! All 3 are just perfect dude you know I love that 27!! I still need both those latter 2 I'm your man if you ever need to move em Great stuff dude thanks for sharing love seeing pics like this We can all appreciate those I think. Love the 27 and 28. If Gino passes i'd be a player too Alright it's done!! The group has voted!! RM you have the coolest books that means by rule you must start a sales thread immediately with said cool books!! That's a rule right?? Just Kiddin brother I really do never tire of all the great stuff that you share with us fellow geeks you should get some kind of award for putting together such an eclectic set of goodies

  8. and may you never recover! Very cool book Larry!! I've heard from those studying this condition and it's symptoms for years and have found while incurable there is a treatment program... more Timely's
  9. Whoa, that's a nice score (wish I could find a copy that nice)! Me, too. Great book, Jack!! Love the flag cover but this one!!! Congrats! Beautiful copy of a tough book! Less bindery chipping than the Church copy... As I've said before, this Spider-Man predates Marvel's web-spinner by about 20 years. Always been very fond of this particular book in your mass collection of high grade beauties Cat!!
  10. Whoa, that's a nice score (wish I could find a copy that nice)! Me, too. Great book, Jack!! Love the flag cover but this one!!!

  13. With all the cool books (HTs, Subby's, Mystic's, an ALL-NEW member of the Timely Family) being posted lately I was inspired to break the ol' Timely's out this morning and take a group shot!! (as you guys have come to know I love to do!! You guys/gals have basically witnessed each and every GA pickup sans a very few since I have joined the boards and it has been so much fun putting these together and sharing them with you all...pardon the shadows on the right side of the books It was the best I could do given the lighting this morning...I did all this before the kids got up...
  14. Fox and MLJ at #3 and #4 respectively. I like it
  15. WOW!! that's one way to knock it out of the park with your first from this classic publisher!! Great copy of a great book...they are addictive...you were warned
  16. Cool. The underrated Frank Thomas. One of my favorite Owl covers!! very neat book buddy
  17. This is Super neat Josh!!! What a great accomplishment and as far as CGCs label they should do this with all the books. I like this so much more than the all green label. Anyone know if they have pulled away from the purple as well? It would look much better like this IMO. Super cool book thanks for sharing and congrats again for putting together a super neat book!!
  18. You're very welcome, rick - the camaraderie this hobby provides is just wonderful. That was a super-tough book to part with... white pages!!... but I know it's found a great home. congrats Rick the finish line is one step away and what a gesture from Steve!! We've never met but your passion for the hobby shines as clear as Polaris in a cloudless nighttime sky. (see what I did there...Star Comics with a reference to a star...boom...that just happened!!) AWESOME stuff all around gentlemen!!
  19. Lovely comic That is sooo nice. I'll add my applause. +1 Nice set! can I just say AWESOME...all of it!!! AWESOME!!!!
  20. A lot of folks talking about Flash Comics...hit or miss title for me as far as covers go...I don't know if this is unpopular or not but I REALLY like #1. Something about it in its simplicity does it for me. Now I do know its popular to say I wish Sensation #1 was Wonder Womans 1st app I couldn't even imagine the price that book would command. Always preferred it over All Star 8 and WW #1 but I believe there have been quite a few threads about it in the past so no need to open up that can of worms. Well back to Flash Comics...Like I said hit or miss...I do enjoy some of these early ones...Need an upgrade on the #10 but it presents nicely enough for now and the #7 is an ALL TIMER imo. Big fan of #2 and #21 as well but thats just me...
  21. Thanks Andrea!! or whoops CQ!! Yeah I was inspired by your AWESOME OWL water color post to share something on here and thought wow perfect timing since the folks brought those up...I was even happier they had kept them!!! I would have never thought in a million years!! Yeah it was pretty crazy to think thats the stuff that was running through my head and that my oldest daughter is halfway to the age I was when I did em... Obviously you know I have focused more on sports, piano, and nursing it up since then and kind of gave up the drawing thing but I still doodle every now and then...well at least I did before I had 3 lovely kiddos Heres some of my better stuff...Nothing is traced but I did use references for all of them making em much bigger...The Beetle and Electro are from comic covers....The Constrictor a Bowen statue...then obviously a few MegaMen and the Unstoppable Juggernaut I saw a picture of on the internet and really liked...hope the move is going well my nerdy friend!!
  22. My folks brought up an old box of my stuff. Much to my surprise they had kept the, "comics" my friends and I drew when we were 10 years old. I apparently wasn't against drawing violence or using curse words at the time. If you are curious, my drawing skills never really advanced past this state Still love me some funny books though!! Here is #1 and its content...man this stuff was so much fun at the time... Then began issue #2 which I started drawing but didn't complete...Maybe I had the realization that my career wasn't going anywhere and thats all folks, I won't bore you with more...nice to take a trip down memory lane
