  1. Trying to keep up with all the awesome books being posted in this thread is quite the feat. Don't know how I missed this one!! Great books buddy
  2. Just saw the film and finally caught up on some posts. Not the greatest film of all time by any stretch of the imagination but not horrific either.
  3. Your guests must be in heaven!!!!! That is an AWESOME room!!
  4. I thought his redemption was when he raised his hands to the sky as a free man. Kind of like a God set him free kind of moment. He was sent to his own personal hell and triumphed over it and the architects of his torture were brought down in the process. Yes...exactly. Redemption by definition can be just that. Regaining something that had been stripped from him. His freedom. Redemption from Shawshank. The argument that there isn't "redemption" in this film is just plain silly. Back to BvS. I haven't seen the film but many here stated it was entertaining for the most part. That's all I'm looking for. I would like to know for everyone that said it is horrid are we judging it as a prequel type deal or as a standalone movie? I didn't read too much of the thread I could smell the negativity in the air and I want to go in with as open a mind as possible. the Mrs. said she heard it was bad though which kind of stinks because she is usually pretty psyched to see these hero movies with me. Oh well, it can't be That bad. One thing I do wish is that they would stop already with all of the different trailers for these films. I know they have to build it up but whatever happened to just one trailer. That's it. If you want to know what happens go see the film. I feel like I already have the entire plot before I even get there. That to me even if the flick is indeed horrendous from a plot standpoint but entertaining will be my biggest beef. Cut it out Hollywood with all your darn trailers. Leave a little to the imagination before I buy my ticket.
  5. you may need to rewatch shawshank. ?...Now that is a GREAT film
  6. Love that book. Considering how tough it is, I'd consider that high grade for sure. Completely agree - that's a lovely book! Here's another very scarce Quality, I've never seen one above mid-grade: Both of those Hits are Over the fence!!
  7. Nailed it!!! This has to be one of the most colorful funny books of ALL TIME!!
  8. Thanks RM!! I just woke up from fainting after seeing the books Parker and Josh have been posting haha!! Wowza!!!!!!
  9. Although not noted as such, this seems to me to be a Hitler cover. I don't think the Nazi in the corner would have been given a toothbrush mustache if he wasn't intended to be Hitler. Thanks everyone!!! And great books all around!!! It is noted whenever it sold as a Hitler cover at least that I have seen in my short period learning and collecting these gems. The Blue Beetle story on the inside however doesn't at all match the cover as he is busting up regular ol' gangsters. What I love most about this cover is how darn dynamic it is. The little details just blow my mind. If you look at it....and I mean really look at it...you will notice it is a US Flag cover as well down there on the naval ship I like the perspective of it all. Up in a plane looking down heck even the gauges are drawn on there as the pilot is turned around to thwart our heroes rescue. Great stuff!! I agree with ALL that the earlier and then later issues are the real shining stars of this publisher. Here's West's list from a few years ago (I think he may have added some later) and you are right that MM 27 is there (now if we can get Overstreet and CGC on board!): Here is a Hitler cover list I made that covers books from 1940's-1950's. 11. Thanks brother!!! I am pretty pleased this was a MONSTER auction for guys/gals looking for low grade presentable rarities. For a guy like myself who can't choose EVERYTHING I had to be real picky with my battles. That is part of the fun of it though IMO. The best part obviously being the sharing part with my fellow enthusiasts
  12. Picked up this Patenaude cover as well......finally!!!!! Will take some in hand pics when it arrives...This is the condition I would ideally like to have all my treasures in if I could 1. find them and 2. afford them
  13. Picked up this raggamuffin off eBay for a song. Couldn't be happier with it...
  14. Speaking of Simon...nabbed this off the CC auction...nice yeller bondage cover...
  15. Wow that is a rather provocative cover if one were to enter the darker side of the mind!! Love it!! What a beautiful copy
  16. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat report RM!!!!!!! Thanks pal looks like you had a fun show!!
